I was looking for a nice nail salon in the springfield/alexandria area where I could get a good mani pedi. I usually go to Escape in Springfield but wanted a nice change. I made an appt at Mon Cheri and despite how many walk ins came in at the same time I did, it was a good sign that they honored my appt time and took me first. $42 bucks for a mani+pedi which included a nice paraffin mask, sea scrub, and a light massage. I would have liked a better massage but it was fine. I enjoyed the experience until she put on the nail polish, which was incredibly sloppy. I noticed it after it dried. I had the nail polish on the sides of the nails and on my skin, it looked kinda gross. It's was all good though, because I asked her to redo it and she did. I think even she realized how bad they looked lol. My manicure was nice and also included the paraffin mask, she did a fine job. Also note, this place does cash only tips. So keep this mind so you're not forced to go to the credit union ATM next door. If I was in the mall and needed a mani and pedi I would be back but wouldn't go out if my way, it's tough finding that perfect experience at nail salons. read more

I went to the salon this morning and it was fairly empty with only two customers being treated. At first, the lady that introduced us was kind of rude and told my friend and I to pick out colors. After, she took me while someone else took my friend. Her name was Diane, and it was a very quiet start. I asked to get an acrylic full set and she said $30 for that + $5 for my desired nail shape. She started. I am a very quiet and non talkative person but once someone starts a conversation with me I actually become engaged in it but Diane and I were quiet. However towards that end after I paid and she still had to buff and paint my nails she started conversations with me. She wasn't as bad as I thought. I gave her a tip. And whenever you pay they give you a piece of chocolate, I got a York peppermint. The final job was AWESOME. Color came out great and the shape was perfect. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. Other employees seemed engaged with their customers. I will be coming back to Diane for my re-fill. read more

Can I just tell you how this place came through in the clutch ?!!?!?!? I wanted to get eyelash extensions that this place was the best. I called to make an appointment however she was booked and couldn't take a same day appointment. I went to another salon near by to squeeze me in and it was my biggest mistake of 2018 so far!! The eyelashes that that other salon were terrible! I asked for simple, natural short looking cluster lashes and they gave me something I wouldn't even put on a baby doll. I was so upset, in tears and frustrated because they refused to take them off because they didn't want to damage my real lashes. I called Mon Cheri and begged their eyelash tech (whom happens to be the owner) to please help me. I was going on vacation and couldn't imagine having to go ANYWHERE with my face looking like that. Best nail salon hands down! I have been going to this salon for three years, & they are wonderful! The ladies in here give amazing pedicures & really massage. They also offer you a snack and a beverage! The pedicure is so relaxing and the salon is clean. I love getting long acrylics & whenever I ask them to do a design they impress me! I would definitely upgrade to gel acrylics because those nails WILL last you FOUR weeks and NEVER chip or break! I have played intense basketball games and my long Mon Cheri nails did not even move! This is the only nail salon I've been to in this area that I feel at home. They're all so friendly offering water, coffee, tea and snacks to you. Their polish selection is huge. They have hot wax treatments that are just amazing. It's a clean salon with the friendliest of people. I highly recommend Cindy and BB. They're both absolutely fantastic. Another cool thing is the fact your pedicure is taking place in a a new and clean area each time. They line the sinks with plastic and at the end of your pedicure they remove it and put a new one in. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. The owner did my daughter's mani/pedi and literally told her "I will smack you on the head and tie you to the chair if you do not stop moving." My daughter is 9 years old. She understands if you simply tell her to stop moving. When I told her that I was inappropriate for her to speak to my daughter that way, she walked away and refused to listen. I feel bad for her employees- if this is the way she speaks to a PAYING CUSTOMER. I went to this "spa" twice. The first time to get a pedicure and the second time to get my nails. The first time I had a good pedicure. It was great for the price. The second time was the worst experience I ever had at a nail salon. I asked for a coffin shape, and the "nail tech" gave me worm shape nails. Then I showed her a picture of what I wanted for my design. It was literally a soft white with a bit of glitter. She gave me an entire strong white color with some random silver glitter that didn't even look like the design. I told her I didn't like it and she started screaming at me telling me it's my fault my nail looks like that. I got very upset and told her not to talk to me in that tone and that I am paying for my nails to be done and I don't need to be talked to that way as a client. I told her I wanted someone else to help me and she said she would fix it. I told her no I wasn't going to be taken care of someone so rude. Someone else painted my ugly white nail and then gave me a receipt of 50$. I don't know which experience was worse. The "nail tech" or the "supervisor". I told him I wasn't going to pay for the "coffin" shape cause it wasn't even a shape I'll pay for the full set and he literally told me "you don't want to pay at all I call security". I literally said I wouldn't pay for the design. I went to get a manicure done recently and the manicurist was unpleasant. No smile on her face to begin with and to make matters worse she was cleaning my cuticles n cut off my nail folds way too much that it started bleeding cz she was in such a rush to finish. Not only on one finger but 3! The wounds heal but she took no care. Until I told her my fingers were stinging. Then she said "oh sorry" and proceeded to apply some sort of a disinfectant. Like I said she was in such a rush to finish and didn't do a very good job with applying my nail color either. So unfriendly and in such a rush and the manicure was over in not even 15 minutes. You get the hot wax and foot massage with dead sea salt. As soon as I walked in I was offered a complimentary beverage and they had a wide variety, they also had a wide variety of complimentary snacks. DO NOT COME HERE! I went on a Saturday (9/26/15) to spoil myself and called earlier to ask how much a gel full set was. I was told $45, and decided to go for it, spoil myself! I know that I am allergic to acrylic nails, so I knew that I would need gel nails. The woman who did my nails was rude, didn't even ask me how I was, and continued to talk to her coworker the entire time. When she was done tugging on my fingers and hitting my hand and telling me to relax, she finished what I was told was "gel full set". Which looked a lot like acrylic, but I went with it. It was the white powder with the curing liquid put as putty on my nails and formed into typical acrylic nails, what I have been getting for years. The only difference between this acrylic set and a typical one is the gel nail polish used instead of regular nail polish. Once she finished she didn't say more than a word to me but asked me if I wanted my eyebrows waxed (and I didn't, I had just gotten them two weeks prior. I paid and left. This morning I woke up with severe itching, bubbling and redness on my skin, just how I am when I get the acrylic. I have an allergic reaction which is why I wanted GEL! I suffered through the day, and called the manager on my lunch break. She was extremely rude, and made me feel like I was uneducated about what I wanted. I said I asked for full gels, because I am allergic to acrylics and I am itchy all over. She stated I could come back in and pay more money to get them removed and put back on. She refused to work with me, and kept repeating "you didn't ask for the right thing, you asked for acrylics with gel" which is ABSOLUTELY A LIE!!! She wasn't even there the day I went. I want this to be fixed without having to pay $20 more dollars and to have been made feel stupid by someone who makes plenty of money. I've been coming here ever other week since my first review and still loving this salon. Shout outs to Tina, Hannah and Tiffany, my usual techs depending on what day of the week I head in. I get a gel mani every other other week and once a month a pedi. I've splurged on the hot stone pedicure once, it was worth it, but the basic pedicure includes massage and paraffin wax, which is generally an upgrade at other places. Thru also have a frequent customer card and after 10 visits you get 30% off, which is very nice. I usually get the color changing gels for my manicure, lots of fun. Recently they started lining the pedicure water bowls with plastic, so they are even more sanitary. I never worry about a thing a Mon Cheri! read more

Brought my wife and 6 year old daughter (her first Mani/Pedi) there for the little one's birthday. They both had a great time. PROS: -Everyone was very friendly and courteous. I have been going here for quiet some time and every time i go i am never disappointed. I only ask for one person and that person is Vivian and she does an amazing job. I always have to call to make sure that she is there because she is the sweetest person and she always does an amazing job. I don't even care that much it's just $2 I just wanted to know WHY she charged $15 instead. She was very rude and just walked away when I was trying to talk to her. This was my first time going this nail salon and I'll be returning back! I went in to get a gel manicure done especially because I'm always washing my hands( I work at a doctors office) and gel lasts longer than a regular manicure. I was welcomed in and asked what I wanted done, I didn't have to wait much to get someone to do my nails. I was taking to the station where my nail tech is and I was offered anything to drink, I asked for water( they even offer to make hot chocolate for you too!) I took some time to choose my nail color and I was ready to get my nails done. I was lucky enough to get Nina as my nail tech! She was amazing! She was very precise and took her time to make sure my nails were perfect! After she did nails, which came out fabulous, she put my hands in hot wax and massages my arms with hot lotion. That was such a relaxing feeling, and the best thing about it is that it's all included with the manicure, no extra charge! I paid $32 for my gel manicure which I think is perfect especially with all that's done! After that I paid her, and she came back a client loyalty card, to keep track of the visits and on the 10th visit you get 30% off any service, and also with a piece of chocolate :) Nina will definitely be my nails tech from now on! I stopped by here for a manicure and dip powder nail polish. I was seated quickly and given a great manicure! Then, when the woman started to do my dip nails, all she did was complain about how short my nails were and the color I had chosen. I told her that I had just gotten them done several weeks ago with even shorter nails and the woman who did them had no troubles or complaints. She ended up having to redo one of my nails 4 times because it somehow kept getting messed up. She also made me bleed around my nails for several of my fingers while buffing out the dip powder. Also, make sure that you have cash because they only accept cash for tips! We've been here a couple of times and they're nice, respectful and do good work. I especially recommend Cindy, who I personally will give 5 stars. However, the 3 stars is for the experience we had when paying. The person kept swiping our international credit card, which charges us money each time it gets swiped and it doesn't go through. The annoying and frustrating part is that they insisted we won't be charged, even though they have never been to our country and experienced what we know. We've gone to multiple establishments in the US and we've never had to deal with something like this except one other time. I have never had to wait too long, unusual since its in the mall. I recommend Mon Cheri, and any of its wonderful staff. What you pay is well worth it! I personally love the Mood changing colors. Wanted to update my review since I decided to go back last minute! First of all the techs were super nice but I had a super horrible experience with a gel manicure. As I was getting my pedicure done another nail tech decided to do my gel mani at the same time I guess cause they were closing soon so she filed, cut, and painted my nails at the pedi station. She didn't use primer for my nails nor could she or I see if she was actually doing a nice job since there was no over head lamp clearly because I was getting a pedi done in the pedi seat. The to go led lamp she used was one that you can travel around so it was sitting on my lamp as I got my pedi done. She did one layer of gel coat and then noticed that the nail polish or led lamp was ruining my gel and it almost looked like I had jabbed so many holes into the nail polish and so she proceeds to scrape off all the gel color leaving the base coat completely on but it was a mess and then re does the gel color which was very disappointing. They turned out kind of thick and some have air bubbles, she even missed a top coat on one of my fingers and it looks super streaky. I feel like the base coat started to crack underneath the gel color which means they won't last long. Super inconvenient. read more

Horrible. I'm a guy and like to get my nails done here and there. Usually get the basic mani with a buffer at the end. The place appears to be clean but cramped (inside a mall). Waited about 10 minutes and finally seated with a nice female tech. Another tech comes over and they go back and forth in their native tongue until I hear, "Oh, this lady will take over for you". I'm like ok and noticed she was pretty rough with the handling of my nails. Definitely rushed and even cut me on several of my fingers. Highly upset and would not recommend at all. They did offer me lemonade while I was there which was very nice and refreshing. I give it a four instead of a 5 because she was really rough and stopped a couple of times with the hot stone and it got really hot really fast. I'd go back but make sure you have an appointment on a Saturday. read more
