I have been going to Pink Passion for years and have almost always had a positive experience so I am hesitant to leave this review but I think it's important to share the experience and Managements response. I received a great pedicure yesterday but for my dip manicure, I ended up with cuticles on 4 fingers bleeding (more than just a small amount). I called the salon to let them know and ask what they recommended. The manager told me to use Neosporin and immediately handed the phone back to the front desk. That was it. I ended up looking up some things online but I was extremely disappointed with the Managers response. For $55 + 13 tip, I expected more. I hate to say it but I will not return to this salon. I expect an infection in at least one of the nails that continues to be so raw and red. Very disappointing. I'd love to post pictures but don't think that's possible on yelp. read more

Worst nail salon I've been to. I requested a gel x soak off and fresh new set. My tech had old bandaid on with no glove or finger cot. Instead of properly soaking my nails with cotton, acetone, and foil-- she tried ripping them off, then when it didn't work she put my nails in a small condiment cup filled with pure acetone. When she was picking the fake nails to put on I told her I felt they were too big. She kept saying "don't worry." When trimming my cuticles, she went too deep and made me bleed. She applied an astronomical amount of gel to the nail, it was leaking out of the sides while she cured it. My nails look like when I was in kindergarten and rolled small balls of play doh to pretend I had long nails. Read that again. My tech did not listen. I should have seen the red flags from the beginning. I almost asked her to stop the service but kept telling myself to trust the process. The polish was uneven, the nails are the thickest nails I've had in my some ten odd years of going to nail salons. Extremely disappointing. I kept communicating throughout the service and she did not listen and acted like she knew better. When I looked at them at the end, I said "I'm sorry, this is really bad." She called another tech over to take a look and the tech agreed and said "do you want to soak them off and start again?, come back tomorrow?" I am posting this review for the THIRD time as the owner is paying desperately to remove the review and bribing people to remove their bad reviews. This place gave me a massive toe infection at the hands of an aggressive bully named "MIA". She will mock, belittle and talk badly about you to her coworkers next to her and laugh in your face while intentionally injuring you. She ignored all my polite requests to kindly STOP digging into my toe. She then demanded I tip her at the end which is an absolute joke to her and this filthy place. This establishment loves to claim they "don't have someone on record coming there" if they post a bad review well I will show my credit card statement and medical bills to prove my massive infection which I will report to the board of health now that nothing has been done but paying off my bad reviews. Normally I receive excellent service at this nail salon but that is not a guaranteed experience. I recently did a walk-in for a regular pedicure. The nail tech was not very pleasant and did not bother to ask me the routine questions, e.g. about shortening my nails , whether the water temp was ok, etc. But really disappointing was she left scrub granules on my legs, placed my sandals on after inserting the toe separators- which was uncomfortable and did not make sure the nail polish color was consistent across my toes. Ugh! Finally she got up and said wait one minute and then leave. I removed the separators and left. I still tipped her but she didn't inspire me to do so. Not a thank you, not a 'do you like it? She gave me her personal number so I can text her when I would like my next appointment and she takes care of making the appointments and I also can text her the design I would like to have for my next appointment. She pulls the colors in advance and does a phenomenal job. This time we went for a cherry blossom theme since the peak day was yesterday and she never disappoints! I'd highly recommend Sophie at the salon as she hits a grand slam home run every time. She is the best in the NOVA area by far. I was very disappointed with my experience. I had gel nails done, and they started falling off just two days later, which is unacceptable for a gel manicure that should last at least two weeks. I went back to have them fixed, and the technician was clearly annoyed and unhappy about fixing the issue. The next day, more gel nails fell off again. When I returned a second time, I was told I would need to pay to have them redone, even though this was clearly a workmanship issue. I also brought my daughter with me while I was getting my nails fixed. She had a different technician, and her gel nails fell off the same day, which shows this wasn't an isolated problem. While I was there another woman next to me was argued down about the type of service she requested. Steps were neglected in her pedicure and the individual misunderstood. Pink Passion was the first nail salon I tried when I moved to Kingstowne 3 years ago but after my second visit, I stopped coming here as the manicure was messy and left me quite unhappy. Since then, I've tried many salons nearby and quite honestly, I forgot all about this place.. until recently when I had a bad experience elsewhere and decided to give them another try and I'm so glad I did! I called to see if anyone was available and was told many techs were free and ready to assist, walked in about 15 minutes later and was promptly greeted by the front desk. My dip manicure was impeccable, the tech did a really great job and even offered me a drink - this is something more and more salons are adapting to and I'm so here for it. Terrible service lady argue with me as soon as I walked in and told me she was gonna charge me the same price for gel and regular nail polish and that I should just get gel nail polish when I told her I do not want that and that is my preference. She did gel on both my sister and I when we told her we do not want that and then charged us for it. I've come here before to get my toes done and I absolutely loved it but the ladies who did my sister nails was rude. They didn't do a good job nor did what we asked for and I didn't say anything because it's just embarrassing and I'm not one to be confrontational but how hard is it to treat your clients nicely or just let them get what they want?? Where do I begin with my hurt and disappointment? I have been going to Pink Passion for 7 years and have been one of their first and loyal customers since they first opened. My nail tech is Amy, and I adore her and the work she does. However, on August 4, 2024, things changed for me. I had my standing appointment every 2 weeks, and this time it was at 11:45am. Around 11:05 am, I received a call from the salon asking if I could come an hour later because my nail tech (Amy) wasn't feeling well. This was the third time this had happened, and I was not happy about it. The last time I came, they claimed not to have my appointment in their book, and another time they asked me to come later and another time come the next day. Prior to starting my service on this day, I saw Amy's pregnant daughter, Hannah. I explained to her the inconvenience caused by asking me to come later and requested a discount. She offered a 10% discount, which I agreed to. At the end of my service, when it was time to pay, I met Amy at the counter and requested the discount her daughter had told me about. However, Amy only offered a $3 discount, while I expected it to be around $5-$6 off the total amount. Amy argued that the discount applied to only one of the services, but I explained that I had booked a combo service, which should be considered one service/payment for the discount. I also mentioned the discrepancies in pricing between online booking and checkout at the salon and the issues I had faced with booking appointments online, which I had brought to their attention previously. We went back and forth, and I expressed my disappointment at the way Amy was handling a $5 discount. I emphasized that I have never asked for any discounts or free services in all the 7 years that I have been a customer. I have accommodated them many times and have brought business to their establishment by recommending their services to neighbors. I also mentioned the customers I have referred, including my daughter, husband, sister-in-law, and my best friend, Necole (to whom Lynn does her nails and has had an issue or two as well). Amy mentioned that she wasn't feeling well, and I responded that if she wasn't feeling well, she should have canceled the appointment and stayed home, just as I would have to do at my job.Yet, that has nothing to do with the discount. I told Amy that I was not happy about this. If this is how I will be treated, I will no longer be a customer, and neither will my husband, sister-in-law, or best friend. Where I go, they go. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the level of customer service I received from Amy and what I perceived as her recent attitude. I believe the entire salon needs some customer sensitive and interaction training on how to properly engage, talk to, and treat customers. We spend our hard-earned money there, and a business would not exist without customers. read more

Loved the manicure I got here! The pedicure was unremarkable. I had an appointment for a mani/pedi. When I made the appointment I called and said I would be getting designs for my mani, so they could schedule me with the right person. I arrived and told the gentleman at the counter I was there for an appointment. He didn't seem to care that I had an appointment and asked what I was getting done and told him mani (with designs) and pedi. He pointed me to a chair. I repeated I had an appointment since he didn't seem to mark that I was there. He again didn't seem to care - okay with me then! While I'm getting my pedicure done I got a call from the salon asking if I was running late to my appointment. Nope I'm in a chair! Looks like it did matter that I had an appointment and I was supposed to be with someone else. The salon sorted it out. On to my manicure - I rarely get my nails done but I was jetting off to see Taylor swift so I wanted something cool. I showed some inspo pics and the girl got to work. I ended up with a matte black reverse French tip almond shaped nail. I was thrilled and they looked awesome. If I ever need designs, this will be my stop. read more

The entire time spent in the chair was 10 minutes. $38.00. The technician rushed through and was not gentle at all. Warm lotion gloves were put on for 15 seconds max. The place is not spa like at all, and it needs a good thorough cleaning. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I had the best pedicure ever tonight with Jenny! She is so kind and does a great job! Unfortunately, I am disappointed with this salon. I tried to use a gift card that was purchased online that was bought and gifted to me less than one month ago. I was told they stopped selling these months ago. When I showed her the date and the receipt she still insisted they do not sell gift cards online. If you go to their website they indeed have the option to purchase gift cards. Very disappointed with the poor customer service and hope that others will not have this same experience. My girlfriends and I often meet at Pink Passion for pedicures. I will not be back. I came here today with both my nieces (4 and 5 years old) to get a mani pedi and I also needed to get my nails removed. It was the worst service ever. I made an appointment for 3:15 PM, arrived around 2:50 PM, and was told to pick a color. After doing so, I stood around watching employees walk past me for 15-20 minutes without offering any assistance until I said something. They then seated my nieces at two of the pedicure seats. And ONCE AGAIN 15 minutes go by and no one comes to help. There was also a large birthday group who came in at the same time but I arrived much earlier before the rest of their group did and I had an appointment. Now I don't mind at all that there was a party going on, but that's no excuse for poor service and negligence to fellow paying customers!!! Even my nieces said to me " it's taking kind of long, is anyone going to help us?". After more and more people from the birthday group continued to show up, they were seated right away and serviced immediately with no wait, while I was standing there waiting the entire time! Even though I arrived much earlier. Ridiculous. Nobody assisted us until 3:30pm. After I made sure my nieces were situated, I had to go to the front desk and remind them that I had an appointment myself! Can you believe that?! So I've been getting SNS/dip powder for 2 years now and have never had a problem. The SNS typically lasts me 3-4 weeks!! However after only a week my nails are chipping and peeling. You can see in these photos that the SNS was not applied properly and neither was a top coat. Any other salon I've been to does a clear dip powder before and after color but this salon didn't. They went straight to the color dip. I think this is why my nails are peeling. That or a cheap top coat. Either way, $60 for nails that only look good for a week is ridiculous.
