If I could give this office zero stars, I would. This was my first visit and unfortunately it left such a poor impression that I would not return or recommend this office to anyone. I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment with absolutely no updates or explanation for the delay. During that time, one of the staff members was on the phone and noticeably slouching in her chair, which did not reflect a professional environment. After waiting that long with no communication, I decided it was a waste of my time. I informed the front desk that I would be canceling my appointment and left. Dr Lee is fantastic, but some of the staff are not. They did a crown 4 years and 9 months ago. That crown completely just fell apart. My insurance will only cover a crown every 5 years. So the insurance denied payment, so I am appealing to my insurance company on the claim. It is taking some time, but in the mean time I am being harassed about 3 times a week from his staff and their billing office that I need to pay the amount the insurance denied. Also the amount they say I owe doesn't add up based on what I already payed them and what they say I owe. I am being told that what the insurance company says and what they say is because the dentist only bills the insurance what they expect they will pay. I asked to speak to Dr. Lee but I am not sure he will get the request to talk with him. If I could it would be zero stars. So if your office allowed the time for insurance to review my grievance, instead of the continuing calling to me for payment, you would like to know that I was contacted by my insurance and they are reversing the previous denial and are proceeding to reprocess the claim and you should get your money soon. But I am still waiting for a call to talk with Dr Lee about this whole ordeal. read more

Doctor Lee was great and the one male assistant who helped him. As for the other dental assistant she wasn't pleasant not sure if she was just having a bad day or what. But she was not happy. Hope she has a better day. This was our first time going to a dental office where they weren't only specialized in children and I don't think I will take them back. Just didn't feel the care for my kids like we are use too. The office lady looked like she was stressing over the workload she had. I also assumed the check up included dental cleaning. It's always been that way where ever we go. So maybe let patients know that ahead of time. read more

I reached out to Monarch Customer Service following my appointment on May 9th. I received an automated marketing email from Monarch on May 10th asking to review my experience & gave them several business days before posting publicly & as I have not heard a thing from their team will go ahead & share what happened at their Allen office. I have received a "regular" cleaning at another dentist's office every 6 months for years with no mention of any issues with my gums & have never been told before that my gums are at risk & that I would require a "deep cleaning". When I switched dental insurances, that dental practice was no longer covered on my plan & Monarch Dental - Allen was one of the few that would accept my new plan. When I went to the Monarch - Allen office in March, they took my x-rays & I had my gums checked by the hygienist, who we'll call "A". At this time, she claimed that my gums were at risk & that I would need a "deep cleaning". The receptionist gave me a price sheet to discuss what it would cost out of pocket for me to receive this "deep cleaning" that "A" was claiming I required. I told them that I have no sensitivity, no bleeding & have never been told before that I would need this procedure. This was the first time that "A" & the receptionist became visibly irritated that I would not be doing the "deep cleaning". This struck me as odd as I couldn't understand why opting to only do the regular cleaning that was covered by my insurance would affect them personally. My suspicion is that the hygienists & receptionists at Monarch - Allen receive a commission on productivity & provide a shockingly subpar level of medical care & bedside manner to patients that choose not to do unnecessary procedures. When I told them I would only be doing the regular cleaning, she told me that they couldn't do the cleaning that day & that I would need to make an appt. to come back. I was already in the exam chair, the hygienist was there & I didn't understand why I would need to come back. I feel that this was in retaliation for not opting to do the "deep cleaning" as she said their next available appt. was not for 2 months. May 9th, I arrived on time for my appt. & when "A" came to get me, she did at least say good morning, but that was the end of all pleasantries. No eye contact, no further discussion, just pointing me to the exam chair. She tossed the dental equipment she needed on the table carelessly & slammed the drawer she'd just opened. She was visibly irritated still when she handed me the form to sign for the regular cleaning & said, "You need to sign this because you chose not to do the treatment we recommended because you didn't want to deal with that". She begins the cleaning, & it seems to be going fine until she lodges a dental tool underneath my permanent retainer & could not remove the tool for several minutes. It was a long enough period of time to cause severe tooth pain & a serious amount of panic as she couldn't remove the tool herself & had to call the dentist over to assist. She called for him several times & when he did finally come over, she was able to remove it. He gave a cursory "are you okay?" & then went back to the other patient he had been seeing. She continues on with the cleaning with no apology, no other mention of what had just happened. The pain & panic were so severe that I was sobbing in the chair & obviously shaken. She finishes the cleaning which took in total maybe 5 minutes (not including the time the dental equipment was stuck underneath my permanent retainer), hands me a bag with a toothbrush & says I'm good to go. I ask her if the dentist is going to come over to look at my teeth & she says "not unless you have any concerns, he just looked at your teeth in March". The doctor absolutely should have been called over to check on my retainer (& me as a patient) following that incident. I was in shock at the time, but now having left the office, I am concerned that my retainer is loose & that there might be damage. read more

I completely forgot to put in my new insurance and replace my old one and they were able to get the new one input on the same day. Completely my fault since I've always been under my parent's insurance so this is my first time having to do so. I prefer going to individual dentists rather than corporate chains. However, my insurance this year I picked is not a good one - Guardian! Hence, I chose this location because it is newer and saw couple good reviews about the dr. Although I made the appointment for exam and cleaning, I found that they split cleaning from exam. Other dentists I have seen always did at the same time. I figured that this was they are charging more to insurance company as well as patients for deductible. In another month, I was able to get into hygienist to clean my teeth. Suddenly they gave me an estimate after waiting more than an hour on the chair for close to $900 after the insurance bill of more than $3,000. This is just a scam. I did go back to my other dentist and he didn't agree with the treatment plan - (money making scam) and did clean my teeth regular. It is too bad that these greedy corporations - like the rest of American health care system push them for more profit. I would never go back to these profit only corporations. read more

Dr Kim was great ! Gentle & very professional.The front desk staff however was a nightmare. I was charged over my insurance and then after I paid they tried to charge me another office visit after I pointed out that I already was charged. They charged me over what my insurance was paying and then refused to refund me the difference AFTER my insurance paid them. I'll never be back and if your smart you'd go to any other dentist office. read more

The dentist there is phenomenal!! He makes you feel like he really cares about you and makes sure everything is as pain free as possible. This staff on the other hand is AWFUL! The receptionist scheduled me for an appointment with the orthodontist instead of the oral surgeon. So I drove 6 hours into town and waited 40 minutes past my original appointment time, just to be sent home. They told me to come back in 6 weeks. And the receptionist didn't even apologize for their mistake!! They also only refer in house, which means once they diagnose you, you can only go to their people. There's zero flexibility!!! I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere, and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Easy to get quick appointment because they appear to be newly opened and have few clients. I think the lack of clients plays a role in them wanting to do unnecessary treatment. Sometimes the dentist do the cleaning instead of the hygienist, probably out of boredom. They charged me for work at the rate of my dental plan. However, they suggested extra unnecessary services that are not covered by insurance. For me that ran the cost to within a few dollars of an oral surgeon doing the same job. read more

This afternoon while coming up there for a doctors note, which I pre-called about, I was met with a sour attitude and less than helpful attempt from one of the receptionists at the front desk. It was almost mortifying to be told in front of other guest that I would have to wait for an hour or two to see the doctor just so he could verify a correction I wanted to make on my doctors note. I wanted to bring this to light because I don't feel as though anyone should be treated carelessly especially in a place that they patronize. Because of this treatment from the unkind lady, I will be cancelling my future oral surgery and cleanings with this specific establishment. Dr. Lee was kind and helpful for the most part...and aside from being prescribed a medicine that had an adverse reaction on my body and actually put me in more pain than I came in with, he tried to help me. My solution would be for this office as a whole to take more responsibility for what they say that they are going to do and having integrity about it. read more

just as an update, they did charge my insurance company the maximum amount they could for a cleaning, x-ray and full checkup. Since my insurance company only allows 2 yearly cleanings I am out of pocket to get my teeth cleaned by a real dentist. I left before even sitting down in a chair. I don't want a dentist showing the lack of discipline and organization when cleaning-out 3 miles of microscopic root tubules that I was shown in waiting outside for 25 minutes after the time I was told to arrive. I was told twice via phone to arrive at 12:30pm to fill out paperwork. I arrived precisely on time to discover that the door was locked. I called the number of the door and was told that I'd be helped, and was then placed on hold for 10 minutes. The car parked directly beside me had a lady inside eating - she was roughly 20ft away from the door that I was knocking on for 25 minutes. Turns out she was the doctor - who just watched me stand there knocking in the Texas heat. So much for fiduciary duties. When I finally got inside, I asked why I was told to arrive at 12:30, if the doors didn't open till 1. The response I received, "Well, we are usually closed from noon till 1pm, and today we were very busy"...Well if you were very busy, you would have someone in the office to attend to the patients and not have an office-wide lunch break during a scheduled appointment. You should feel confident in the diligence and ethical behavior of your medical practitioners. I advise readers to take their health concerns elsewhere. read more

Dr. Lee was honest friendly and communicative. The staff was very accommodating. The office was clean. I would definitely recommend.

I went to this office yesterday in an emergency situation because my tooth had broken off inside my cap and it was just hanging off. Fortunately it was a tooth that I had a root canal on so there was no nerve there to cause a lot of pain. Anyway, They got me in right away. Everyone in the office was so kind, from the lady that took my x-rays to Dr Lee himself, everyone was great. Dr Lee took his time and made extra sure that I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Since my tooth had broken off from the top, he had to go in and dig out the roots of that dead tooth. He did the procedure and I was totally comfortable. He even had to pull back because he cracked a joke and made me laugh Lol! His assistant, Suzette, was great too. The office staff up front were very nice also. My mouth is costing me a good bit of change to get fixed but I am glad to have found a dentist that I can trust. They are both nice and professional. I highly recommend Dr Lee and his staff if you are looking for a great experience at the dentist! read more
