I went here for about 2 years because they were really close to my house but finally left to find a better place. Two things I had a huge issue with: The first thing was when they took x-rays two visits in a row. I track all my medical appointments and document what happens during every visit. I had switched jobs since the previous visit, so I had new insurance. When I was there, they took xrays. When I got home, I went to document the visit and noticed that I had x-rays done at the previous visit as well. I called them and asked why they took xrays again. The woman who answered the phone said they take them any time insurance will cover it. This is really unethical. Someone else described it perfectly in their review - that is just a money grab. I have never had a dentist do that to me. The next time I went back, the dentist (Jaimie) came in at the end to look at my teeth. She looked in my mouth and said 'ohh - does that bother you?' in a slightly alarmed voice. I asked her what she was talking about and she pointed out the slight gap I have between my two front teeth. I never had braces because my teeth came in almost perfectly, but there is a tiny gap between my two front teeth that no one has ever pointed out before. Really rude and unnecessary. I had enough and have happily moved on. I am convinced that most of these positive reviews are fake. read more

Well-run practice with friendly staff, but their charges are very high even with a good insurance plan. IDK why they are charging close to $400 for basic x-rays and a cleaning that leaves you in and out in under 30 minutes. Even if your insurance covers multiple hundreds of that, you still get a bill for the remainder left, down to the penny. The dentist only spends 1-2 minutes with you max if you don't have any issues. I appreciate that they don't try to upsell or try to convince you there are issues when there aren't, but that should be expected anyway. I like the place and am reluctant to switch, but I kind of just feel like a number there and am tired of paying monthly for dental insurance AND a couple hundred extra a year just for two basic cleanings. read more

Absolutely love this dentist office. I'm a new patient and just moved here from California. I have been with my previous dentist for years so I was very hesitant to find a new one. The staff at JS Family is incredible. I'm 8 months pregnant and went in for a cleaning. Prior to my appointment, they made sure my OB and I were comfortable with getting digital x-rays. They also double vested me just as extra precaution. My hygienist was Angie. Being pregnant = very sensitive gums. Angie was so gentle the entire time. You can tell she loves her job, which made my experience even better. Dr. Sieng is also very friendly. They were honest about what work can wait and gave realistic recommendations. No up-sale nonsense. This facility seemed very patient-centered and I'm glad I found them! Oh! And did I mention there's TV's on the ceiling!? So good for distraction. read more

JS Family Dental is a brand spanking new dental office located in McKinney. If you like cleanliness, up-to-date equipment, and an overall great experience then JS is the place for you. Everything is so new that the wrapping is still on a lot of the stuff inside the office (literally). When you walk in, you'll be greeted by friendly faces who are attentive and know what they're doing. You'll fill out all your paperwork and forms on an iPad that's set up in the waiting area. I'm warning you now -- once you get into the chair, try to stay awake because the chair lightly massages your back and neck as you're laying there. The x-rays are quick and easy. There's also a TV mounted on the ceiling for you to watch as you're getting your teeth worked on. Dr. Jamie Sieng is a great dentist. She was very careful and was great at interacting and explaining to me everything that was going on. She's also not harsh when she's cleaning your teeth so it's actually a pretty pleasant experience. I've never had a regular dentist before, but this may be the place for me moving forward. I'll be recommending this office to all my friends and family. We moved to McKinney and was looking for a doctor in 2015. Thanks to Yelp, we were able to find JS Family Dental. The staff is very friendly and with my crazy schedule, very accommodating. Dr. Sieng is very knowledgeable and extremely sweet. She is very patient and takes time to explain things and is very gentle on the teeth. I love the fact that they have hygienists there to do the cleaning. In most places, the doctors don't see the necessity of having one on staff to do the work. Everyone thinks they hate the dentist, but I went to Dr. Sieng for my exam / cleaning and had a great experience! The front staff was very friendly and inviting. Everything was ready when I got in the office. I just signed in electronically, got a few forms signed while lounging in on their sofa and off we went to the back. In the rooms, they got massaging dental chairs! I got a massage and watched some tv while the assistant was taking some pictures. Then a quick, thorough exam then it was off to cleaning. Honestly so glad I got in to see Dr. Sieng. I went to her for a second opinion as the dentist I previously found stated I had a broken tooth and needed a crown immediately. Shocked as I see a dentist regularly and since I'm preggos, the dentist couldn't do x-rays. After seeing Dr. Sieng she reassured me that I didn't have a broken tooth, just a filling that came off. She ensured me that I would be okay and I don't need something as drastic as a crown. The best part, she saw me complimentary for my second opinion. However, on average (from more than 1 year of service across a 5 member family) they charge 240% of what we owe after insurance has paid. Worse, they hold onto the money owed and only offer it as a credit when another payment is due. Great dentist office. Hands down the best I've ever been to and I've been to a lot. I've always had cavity prone teeth and my first visit revealed several problems including a route canal. The girls and Dr. Sieng made me feel so comfortable during the procedure that I didn't feel a thing. I have had some bad dentist experience's and they made sure I was ok the whole time. I cannot think of enough compliments for this office. I am a HUGE baby when it comes to having any work done on my mouth, so I put off routine checkups and run from any required work. I had worked up the nerve to go to a different dentist in Prosper a few years ago who told me that I needed extensive deep cleaning and that I had 9+ fillings. Between the overwhelming amount of work and the cost associated with it, I retreated and just never went back. Fast forward a few years later, I needed a cleaning and knew I just needed to work up the nerve to find a (new) dentist to start the process of getting all that recommended work done. Every single step with this office was easy and non-intimidating. They got me in for a cleaning and check up within 2 days, the paperwork was all done on an iPad they handed me when I walked in. So easy. And the hygienist - just incredible. Before I told her about my anxiety of being there, she had already put me at ease and was gently walking me through the process. The best part? She did a very thorough exam and found that I didn't need any of those services the other dentist said I needed. I was prepared for her to tell me I'd need to come back for scaling and planing and what-not, but her gentle examination found that I just didn't need it. I wasn't as bad off as I thought. Dr. Sieng was super personable and she found that I do need a few teeth worked on, but she can help me with my anxiety and get it all done in one day. Also, the hygienist was familiar with my autoimmune disease and identified and explained variables that can affect my overall health. I've never EVER felt relieved when leaving a dental office before, but I definitely walked out of there with much relief.
