These were living room chairs and probably sat on fewer than ten times total. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, not wear and tear. When I contacted customer service, they dismissed the issue simply because it was over two years old and offered no solution at all. For furniture at this price, a three-year lifespan is unacceptable. Between the poor durability and the lack of support, I wouldn't recommend Crate & Barrel furniture.
