With Monarch, one of the painters came to our house wearing his painting clothes -- he was working at a nearby house -- and gave me a detailed proposal. He clearly knew what he was talking about. That, plus the fact that his bid was competitive, led me to hire Monarch. I was not disappointed -- the Monarch crew is professional, efficient, and left our house sparkling. I am so disappointed in my experience with Monarch. Alonso and Cesar, my two contacts on the project, were friendly throughout the process. They expressed an eagerness to respond to my concerns; however, that eagerness did not result in a proper paint job. The prep work wasn't completed correctly before the crew sprayed a first coat of paint. Areas were left improperly sanded, parts of the house were never washed, and I still haven't figured out what they did to the eaves, where large bubbles have formed under the paint they rushed to put on. After a month of trying to get the job done right (original estimate was 3-4 days), I let them know that I'll be looking for a company that can do the work correctly. I never heard from the owner of the company, though Alonso said he'd pass on my concerns. Haven't heard back on my offer to let them walk through and see the problems with the job. I've had other contractors come by for estimates, and they're just as puzzled as I am by the poor quality of work. I'm glad that other's haven't had the same experience, but I can't recommend Monarch Painters. read more

Cesar and Alonso have great communication and you can tell they are honest, hardworking people. The estimate was very fair and the final work was impressive. We hired Monarch Painters to paint all new inside walls, doors, trims, and wood ceiling after a major remodel on the house. As most of the readers know, working with General Contractors is a nightmare, and I was in hands of a very incompetent one... So, towards the end of the remodel, I had to outsource workers to complete the job if I couldn't do it myself. Luckily, I found Monarch Painters, very good and honest workers. I remember interviewing 3 or 4 painters, and Cesar was the ONLY ONE that took notes of the work that needed to be done, which I am sure helped him develop an accurate quote. Another thing that really stood out to me was that Monarch Painters stand behind their work. After painting the ceiling, we did a walk-through to check the job and we noticed that there were some spots that were not fully finished; Cesar and his crew came back and re-primed and repainted the whole ceiling. Later we noticed some inconsistencies on the hallway, and they came back and retouch them. Also, we wanted a wall of one of the rooms painted with pink stripes, and the work that they did was phenomenal (ask my wife; she still reminds me to thank them for it...) I just recently called them back again to help me do some paint touch-ups in the bathroom and kitchen. Cesar and his dad are the kind of people that care about doing the job right. And, if there is something that they don't know how, they will pause and try to come up with a way to do it. We have always been happy with Monarch. They painted our downstairs two years ago, the exterior last year, and the upstairs this week. They are clean, polite, efficient, helpful, and they do a beautiful job. They came every day to start at 8 am and worked til about 3 for 3 and 1/2 days. I had requested a quote from Monarch Painters, they said they would be out on 2/18/19 @ 10 am. They were prompt. He came in and I showed him what I wanted done he lookrd around took my email address and said I'll send to you later. Today has been three days and still no email or phone call. I even contacted the owner and he apologized and I sent him my email still no word. If they thought that the job wasn't big enough for them they could have said so and no hard feelings I would have looked elsewhere. They just stopped talking without any reason.
