A little odd twist of the modern age: a review of a restaurant I have never been to. I have doordashed a very good 12 inch pizza a couple of times. I love this pizza place, the pizza is so good to begin with. They are super nice and have a huge collection of glass bottle sodas! I ordered the deal with large pizza 2 toppings + wings. They were nice and didn't charge me for an extra half topping. They also kept our sodas we selected in fridge while we waited, super considerate. They also had a gluten free option I need to try. Will definitely make this place our regular spot. read more

So I tried this pizza and thought I found a new go to pizza spot but I was mistaken, very mistaken Pros: The chicken BBQ and Hawaiian pizza was actually pretty solid. Cons: First time I had them was during a late night poker game and I think I ate 2 or 3 slices. I even raved about it to others. Good lord I'm hoping they didn't listen to me because a few months later with my family. Ordered half bbq chicken and pepperoni. So excited to have free delivery! The person who dropped it off was so chipper it set the mood for a delightful dinner. Dad, our toughest guy, really enjoyed his roast beef sandwich. He gobbled it down quickly! Mom thoroughly enjoyed her eggplant parm. sandwich. She noted how happy she was that the eggplant wasn't drowning in greasy fried breading or sauce. I also wasn't overwhelmed with Parmesan. As one who considers the sauce to be the mark of an Italian restaurant she was pleased it was good. We also ordered a side of meatballs. We received two with plenty of flavorful marinara sauce. Beef meatballs were light and tender. It may be that having the meal delivered interfeared with the french fries as they were too grainy in the center. The outsides weren't as crisp as we like. Might need to try these at the restaurant. Visiting my mom in El Cajon, she ordered a pizza for delivery from here. The driver was 20 minutes later than the app was telling us. My mom frequently eats Monavala. The driver knew her and apologized. Nice guy. Mom ordered combo pizza that had spinach, sausage, mushrooms and a 5 cheese. This pizza was very good. Plenty of toppings, fresh and hot. The crust was very traditional hand tossed and tasty. Soft. What was even better is there was a very light layer of sauce that was delicious yet not overpowering. A delightful mix of flavors. as a handicap person, I sometimes order food just to make my life easier. I am Italian. I ordered from this place through Grubhub. 1. Worst lasagna I have ever had in my life. the sauce had sourness to it the noodles were mush It was supposed to be meat lasagna, but I had to look for meat. Finally I gave up eating it because I didn't want to get sick. 2. Cannoli... shell was so hard I could not bite through it. Filling was sparse. 3. Antipasto salad was fine. The problem being handicapped... I needed something decent to eat... Now I have to go into my kitchen and make something because I could not eat that lasagna. I scraped the fill of the cannoli out. My roommate picked it up. She was not happy with her eggplant parmesan sandwich. She asked for extra sauce & didn't get it. I'm not sure I would go back. Got delivery from this establishment, I really wanted the large pizza to be good. And at first sight, I was hopeful. There was a lot of sauce, which I liked. But the pizza was soooo soggy, especially in the middle, that I ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork because when I tried to lift a slice, the cheese wanted to slide off like it was a water slide. Walked in one day and noticed they have tons of different sodas! Not just regular coke and sprite; chocolate soda, Shirley temple soda, our favorite FAYGO sodas from Detroit, the list goes on. Runs about $3+ a bottle tho! Had no idea they delivered so we tried a white pizza and added chicken with a philly steak sub with a cpl sodas. Great pizza and wing stop! The staff is very courteous and the place itself is very neat. Huuuge selection of craft soft drinks and sodas. I ordered meatlover and feta artichoke pizzas with greek salad and wings. the food was great and all of the ingredients are super fresh. Raghda is the owner operator so she always make sure to deliver delicious stuff to you. Prices were great and they have combo deals . On to the entrees. They were huge! I had lasagna. I think when you see it delivered in a sea of sauce you need to be a bit wary. The sauce was spicy, as it should be. Noodles were thick and prominent . Sadly that left little to no room for my favorite part - cheese and meat which were limited. Dad gave the manicotti a try which was ok. Mom had eggplant parmesan, one of her favs. Her sauce was a little bit tart. Eggplant was a nice moist and tender slice with just the right amount of cheese. She loved how the strands of spaghetti wrapped around her fork so she could dip it into the sauce without a spoon. Yup, she really liked the Pasta. Overall she felt it was a nice Italian meal. Very popular spot as it filled up before 6pm and a party of 30 was expected! You can see it's a neighborhood

In fairness, that's not much because we love the Stromboli, pasta, and Philly cheesesteak so much that we order the same thing every time! Speaking of Stromboli, you can find calzone anywhere, but Roger's is the only place in East County that we've been able to find and it's excellent! Did I mention that the staff are just about as nice as can be? Because they are. Go.

I'd definitely get a variation of that again. We also got the egg, tomato and kofta which is pretty standard and tastes homemade. The reason I'd give this 5 stars is not because it's out of this world food but it tastes homemade and natural. Their bread was great. Their customer service is great. We had the son of the family check up on us a lot and they wanted to give us 10% because it was our first visit which is super nice! Although the space is small inside, it's pretty homey. We definitely plan on going back!
