Nice folks. Decent food. Full house always. Plenty of desserts to choose from. I had eggs and tomatoes. They also have a very nice bakery for you. Cakes and pastries. Parking is no fun.

Botani Breakfast and Pizzeria has moved a couple of buildings down from their previous location to 693 Jamacha Rd, in El Cajon, 92019 for a larger space. Not only do they offer a larger dining area and kitchen, they now offer a delicious Turkish breakfast, in addition to the pizzeria. For breakfast, I had a Turkish Coffee, Eggs, Kofta, & Tomatoes similar to Shakshuska, Lahmacun, and house freshly baked bread, similar to a pita, but much thicker and with sesame seeds. The Lahmacun, similar to baked flat bread with minced meat with herb and spices, and a touch of veggies. The flat bread was thin and soft, not to mention delicious. You can have it sliced or as a whole, the traditional way, so that you can tear pieces off to eat. The menemen which is similar to shakshuska or as they call it here, "Egg, Kofta, & Tomatoes" was delicious. It came with house made beef kofta, a delicious tomato puree, eggs, and a variety of Turkish herb and spices. It was great. The kofta beef patties were very tasty and tender. The eggs were fluffy and soft and the tomatoes quite tasty. It was great eating with the Turkish bread that they bake in house. The Turkish coffee was very well made. It was smooth and rich and offered a great strong coffee flavor. The service was very good. The people here are very polite and welcoming.

If you are a large party coming for breakfast, make reservations! This place is busy over the weekends. The food is good!

We got three things; The medium breakfast platter; was good but I'd probably just Gemar and honey on their own next time and the tea separately because we enjoyed those the most off of it We got one lahamabajeen with cheese; I don't usually like bready things but this one was very light. I'd definitely get a variation of that again. We also got the egg, tomato and kofta which is pretty standard and tastes homemade. The reason I'd give this 5 stars is not because it's out of this world food but it tastes homemade and natural. Their bread was great. Their customer service is great. We had the son of the family check up on us a lot and they wanted to give us 10% because it was our first visit which is super nice! Although the space is small inside, it's pretty homey. We definitely plan on going back!

(1/5) - Horrible Service directly from the owner "Haitham Botani"! Greedy Forced Minimum Charge! I had a terrible experience at Botani Breakfast & Pizza today. I invited a large group of 22-24 people for breakfast. I went early around 10:30 AM to arrange the tables and seating, but the attitude of the owner himself, Haitham Botani, was incredibly rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. You would expect the owner to welcome a big group spending a lot of money, but he did the exact opposite. The owner, Haitham Botani, literally forced us into a ridiculous pricing trap, claiming that each table must spend a strict minimum of $150. He made us pay on the basis of 4 tables (even though we ended up being 22 people), forcing us to order a massive, unnecessary amount of food that we couldn't possibly eat, just to reach his greedy forced minimum limit. The bill ended up being over $690 for a simple breakfast! When we tried to speak with them respectfully, Haitham Botani responded with zero respect, basically telling us "if you don't like it, you can leave." The only reason I stayed and put up with this disrespect was because I felt embarrassed in front of my guests who were already on their way. Terrible management, greedy policies, and zero respect for customers from the owner himself. Save your money and go somewhere else where you are treated with dignity.

Turkish style breakfast in the city of El Cajon at its finest, the thing that bothers me with new restaurants opening is the hype and the disappointment of food that follows along! This isn't the case here the food was outstanding the flavors are on point, I have to say the green olive manakeesh Was my favorite, and according to my wife the lahmageen was just as good as she remembers when living in turkey. The service is excellent seems like a family run business so they are on top of it and they show that they care and are attentive to the customers needs from what I observed. The ambiance is great, with a beautiful dining room, plenty of seating especially for large parties and the Turkish music in the background very enjoyable even tho I don't understand, they are doing it right and sticking to traditional values. Do take into consideration that every thing is made to order and cooked fresh they also like to serve everything at once so if you like your food to come out as it gets ready maybe let them know. Definitely will be back to try more menu items, as I did see they have a full pizza menu!

The owner Haytam is very rude and raciest if your not Arabic or Chaldean don't come to this place came at 10 am put my name down on his list didn't even look at us party of 4 kept on calling all the Chaldean and middle eastern people that were not even there we were the first on the list definitely if your not middle eastern don't come to this place he needs to get educated that all people are created equally and love and respect everyone very disappointed

My husband and I & some friends just had breakfast this morning to try it. It was delicious. Everything we had was so tasty the teapot. With Iraqi chai was so cute I loved the presentation. The lahemajeen & Maniesh were delicious!! Everything was fresh and so clean we will definitely be back. Thank you Adwar for your excellent service!!

    Stroller
    Palig J.

This is my first time at this spot, and I was very excited to try them, but unfortunately I'm shocked with their terrible customer service, and specifically with the owner's RUDE behavior, and the way he spoke and told me that I need to leave my newborn baby's stroller outside, which is shocking to me! From what I know this is a family restaurant and I don't see why I can't go in with a stroller, anyway I respected what he said and took my son off the stroller and had him on my lap the whole time. About 20 minutes after we sat down I saw that other people walked in with a stroller and he DID NOT say a word to them and they were allowed to get in, as you see in the attached photo. What an unprofessional and pathetic behavior is this, if you have your own restaurant rules, thats fine but either pass it on everyone or don't have ridiculous rules at all. This is so embarrassing, you should be ashamed of this behavior. Next time you think about coming to this restaurant, remember that they're not kid friendly.

My internal little Italian girl and my current grown woman left so feeling so satisfied - heart, soul, and most importantly, stomach. The freshness, savory, cheesiness, and richness of the food was amazing (chef's kiss, seriously). Literally every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and seeing the cheese stretching with every bite made each one that much better. The aromas wafting from the Sicilian Macaroni & Cheese when placed in front of us made me close my eyes and take several deep breaths just to take it in. The freshness of the sauce and house/hand-made raviolis were just ridiculously delicious and the lasagna made my eyes roll back. The customer service and family feel of the restaurant only added to the nostalgia of grandma's kitchen. Thank you, Cindy, you were the absolute best! 10 out of 10 and I can't wait to come back again. They've just gained another customer for life. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant.

So, this was our first time paddlin' in, and the place was packed with people--always a good sign, right? But, bro, the food? It didn't quite catch the wave for me. I went for the lasagna, and man, the portion was smaller than I hoped for. My wife went with the chicken Parmesan, but the chicken was kinda chewy, like it got tossed around in the surf a bit too long. And the bread? A little dry, like it needed a splash of ocean water to bring it back to life. First impression? Just average, my friends. Opening the door we were greeted with the old school charm of a restaurant that has been around for over 50 years. Our server was delightful and very fast. In fact the entire staff had a warm energetic family feel. And, happily we beat the rush giving us the ability to hear each other and take our time enjoying the meal. Dad and I started with the chicken tortellini soup which was a little too salty for us. Tortellini was slightly overcooked making it flowery and missing meat or cheese. Mom's house salad was ok. She did comment on being disappointed in the oil served with it. Our appetizer was shrimp scampi. This was good, full of flavor. Shrimp was slightly overcooked giving it a semi rubbery edge. On to the entrees. They were huge! I had lasagna. I think when you see it delivered in a sea of sauce you need to be a bit wary. The sauce was spicy, as it should be. Noodles were thick and prominent . Sadly that left little to no room for my favorite part - cheese and meat which were limited. Dad gave the manicotti a try which was ok. Mom had eggplant parmesan, one of her favs. Her sauce was a little bit tart. Eggplant was a nice moist and tender slice with just the right amount of cheese. She loved how the strands of spaghetti wrapped around her fork so she could dip it into the sauce without a spoon. Yup, she really liked the Pasta. Overall she felt it was a nice Italian meal. Very popular spot as it filled up before 6pm and a party of 30 was expected! You can see it's a neighborhood
