My family and I come to Roger's Pizzerolo almost every week, and it's become one of our favorite family traditions. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile by the cashier, who is often the owner's daughter or son. You can really tell this is a family-owned business that genuinely cares about its customers. We've never had a bad experience here. The customer service is always warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the food is consistently delicious. My personal favorites are the Hawaiian pizza, the Buffalo Chicken pizza, and the BBQ Chicken pizza. The Rigatoni alla Vodka is also absolutely amazing and one of my favorite pasta dishes. It's not easy to find a place that serves consistently great food while making you feel so welcome every time you visit, but Roger's Pizzarolo does exactly that. We love Roger's. It's a smaller restaurant in a smaller plaza, but don't underestimate! Everything is always prepared fresh and everything we've ordered has been delicious. In fairness, that's not much because we love the Stromboli, pasta, and Philly cheesesteak so much that we order the same thing every time! We may have found our new Pizza delivery. I had ribeye steaks ready to go but had a hankering for pizza. it was pretty close to 8:00 p.m. and Roger's is open til 10:00. I called and they were very nice on the phone and said no problem we can still deliver. FYI, there is a delivery minimum ($45.00) which is fine, considering the price of everything. This way I was able to try the family deal which was a pizza, wings and a liter of coke. I added a cesar to hit the minimum I think we received delivery just about 1/2 hour (but remember this was late.) They have a special white pizza which we kicked up a notch w pepperoni. Why not! ;) BBQ wings were the choice versus buffalo and they were very tasty. the pizza was thin crust and cooked perfectly, lots of pepperoni. Roger's Pizzerolo has a new address! They are not located in Rancho San Diego, East County. What I LOVE about this place is that they are family owned and offer a variety of pizza by the slice. Their relocation to Ranchos San Diego is a great thing for East County. Roger's offers New York Style pizzas, sandwiches, calzones, salads, and crispy wings. They offer family packs and offer prices of large orders and events. You will often find Roger, the owner making pizzas in the back, and his 19 year old daughter in the front taking orders and such. They are situated in the strip mall that houses The Habit Grill and Sahara Taste of the Middle East. The place is very casual and offer a good amount of inside seating. read more

Brought my parents here for a late dinner on a weekend. We ordered a Spinach Ricotta Pizza, Buffalo Wings, and Cheese Bread with Marinara. Spinach Ricotta Pizza: This was delightful! One of the best white pizzas I've ever had. The spinach on the pizza still had a good texture, unlike how spinach on pizza is typically charred or soggy. The ricotta was also really fresh. Highly recommend! Buffalo Wings: Personally not a fan of chicken so I didn't have much, but my parents loved this dish! They said the sauce was the perfect mix of tangy, salty, and spicy and the chicken was moist. Cheese bread with Marinara: Not super special but still a really solid dish! I kept this for lunch the next day and it was delicious. The owner is so friendly and personally checked on us during the meal. Went with my son and ordered a 14 inch Pepperoni pizza a side of meatballs, and a caesar salad. The pizza was good, but the sauce was very weak. It had sort of a buttery flavor to the crust. If you like super mild, then you'll enjoy this place. I almost felt like their oven was not quite hot.Enough. The side of meatballs had melted cheese.But there was no brown on the cheese, which is part of the reason I want cheese. There was no real bite to the marinara sauce either. The caesar salad came with three sticks of croutons, which I ended up picking up and breaking up so I could eat them with bites of the salad salad. I have to say this is my new go to spot for pizza. They have no health code violations which is oddly hard to find with pizza spots in La Mesa area. Their pasta is delicious!! And the kids loved their cheese pizza and fries! I should have taken photos before we dug in but I forgot to because it smelled so good and everything was delivered still hot! The lady who took my order over the phone was very helpful and went out of her way to see if I could get delivery even tho I was half a mile outside of their range. They deliver to 3 miles around their shop; I paid a $5 fee to get delivery to my home. I hope she works often because I will totally want to order from this place again it's the best pasta I have had in a long time! We came during lunch and ordered supreme pizza 14 inch ($21.99), half lasagna and spaghetti in meat sauce ($15.99) with a side of meatballs ($6.99), wings ($10.99), rigatoni a la vodka ($11.99). The supreme pizza looked promising and the toppings were overflow, with lots of pepperonis. It was delicious but lacking in the dough and crust. The bottom was thin and soggy. I would recommend marinara sauce instead of meat sauce with the lasagna and spaghetti combo. It didn't taste right. I'm also not a fan of overly cheesy lasagna. Our favorite was rigatoni a la vodka. Not many places have this sauce. It's vodka over pink sauce. Delicious. I would say this is their best item and a must order. The garlic knots was another contender. Buttery and garlicky. The dough on the garlic knot was really good and tasted yummy the next day. Everything else was just average. We did take out and everything we took home was still piping hot and ready to eat. I would suggest a different type of take out container for the pasta because it almost melted. The styrofoam warped for sure and all I could think about was the chemicals going in my food. Possibly a new regular spot for some good pasta (haven't tried the pizza yet) The owner was super friendly when we entered and we were the only people coming in as a pair were finishing up and leaving. They have a nice big menu and we decided to get some pasta. I got spaghetti with meat sauce and my friend got rigatoni with meat sauce which both of them come with garlic knots. They sprinkle parmesan all over the plate and the food. I'm lactose intolerant so I was able to take my pill for the cheese, but my friend is actually allergic to milk so she had to remove the top layer of the pasta and gave it to me and was able to eat the parts that weren't covered in the cheese. It was super tasty and well priced. The knots were delicious and we tried to eat as much as we could and still had leftovers. the owner was super nice and came out to ask us how the food was and if he could do anything for us. It's a small shop, but a great stop. If you like pasta and not having to pay an arm and a leg for it this is a great place to check out. read more

I've been craving pizza for a while now and today was the day I decided to give in to my craving. Rogers Pizzerolo did not disappoint!! My pizza was DELICIOUS! You have to practice some major self control to not finish the whole pie in one sitting. I ordered the 18" Spinach Ricotta Pizza - Spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, over roasted garlic and olive oil - every bite was to die for. You know how at a majority of pizza places, they skimp on the spinach, even when it's the star ingredient/in the title? Well, I'm happy to report that's not the case at Rogers! There was so much spinach between the layers of cheese, on top of there just being so much garlicky cheesy goodness. You could taste each of the components in every bite. Might I add, I have an 8mo son and he's never had pizza in his life yet.. until today. No way in hell would I let his first taste of pizza be from some commercial pizza chain, so Rogers it was and he loved it! Since he's still learning to eat, he peeled off the toppings, ate the crust first, and then went back to the toppings. He'll get it eventually. Lastly, when I placed the order via telephone, Roger was so kind from the moment we spoke until he helped carry out the pizza to my car since I was carrying my son. This new Italian grill and pizzeria has opened in the Mission Square Center which is where The Purple Mint is co-located in the Grantville neighborhood. New York style pizzas seem to be their specialty, but the menu also offered calzones, stromboli, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. They even carried white pizzas which do not use tomato sauce and are a specialty of the northeastern states of the country like Connecticut. After visiting a friend in the nearby area, I came in to pick up a couple of items to-go. The first was a slice of pizza from the heated display case. There was one remaining piece of a Meat Lovers pizza (pepperoni, meatballs, Italian sausage, bacon) so I took that. For $3.50, it was an average slice of thin crust pizza. My other choice was a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Top sirloin meat, mayo, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, and melted provolone cheese were the ingredients inside a bun that was split in half. The mayonnaise was unusual as I have never had that spread included in a cheesesteak sandwich before. I didn't think it was necessary because there was sufficient flavor and moisture. The service from the family-run staff was pleasant so there were no issues. For the food quality and cost, I gave my experience at Rogers Pizzerolo Italian Grill a 3.5 star rating. read more
