I've pawned at one before and they didn't give me any information about how the payments or interest work and if it wasn't for a dude at a different pawn shop explaining how it works to me I would've lost my items to them. at a different shop the manager was extremely rude to me and other customers. I overheard them telling a different customer that their loan period expired and that there item was on sale already and he said he thought he had another week to pay. when I tried using their services they said they only sold items to South Carolina residents. I went back with a South Carolina id and was denied again their services even though I had what they were asking for and I've gone to that specific store 3 times and all 3 times I was rejected for a different reason. abysmal service and it's one of the most empty barren line of pawn shops I've ever personally seen. Ive traveled a lot from cali through the south and now I'm in South Carolina and it's by far the worst pawn shop I've ever had the inconvenience of visiting.

I believe the location was in Charleston around the West Ashley area. The Supervisor, Melissa, was so rude and barely could look in your face when you walk in there. All I had was a few pieces of jewelry that I was interested in them taking a look at. There was another Customer Service person that worked there. Heavyset kid who did look over my items which were worth probably $3000 and said he would give me $15 for them because they really couldn't do anything with it, because it wasn't heavy enough silver. That was a joke to start with, I wasted more in gas getting there. Another woman was trying to buy a gun and they were very rude to her. As she was waiting, she asked me what I was selling and the heavyset Kid immediately said you cannot talk about things like that in this place. I said OK whatever. I did not leave any of my items with them and went out to my car to leave. Very nice woman who is looking for a gun goes to her car just to get her drivers license. As we were talking, the heavyset kids followed us out into the parking lot and said you are not allowed to talk about any items that we might've looked at on their premises. We weren't even doing that. Then he says to the woman 'we will not be selling you again today'. No explanation no reason. It was such a strange interaction, and so rude that we were both incredibly offended. We drove across the street and talked about all sorts of things, not much having to do with the pawnshop, except that neither of us would ever step foot in one of these places run by whoever owns this particular company. I get it that there are rules that you don't want people buying and selling and using your particular storefront, but we were just talking and he was aggressive and very rude and if anything, I should've called the police because I did not feel comfortable having some large man follow me into the parking lot whether he was an employee or not. This place is an absolute disaster, and they rip you off. Buyer beware!

I am outside the 15 day return window, if I went to GameStop (the place I originally purchased from) it is now used item I am selling back. Shame on me for waiting so long, I thought I would try for the 187th time to be a gamer... I am not. I know the buy back price at GameStop (credit), I take my chance at MoneyMan. I was greeted by a gentleman, didn't catch his name. He asked what he could help me with, I told him, showed him and off to work he goes. We run into a hiccup. Melissa explains the situation and I ask a few direct questions, and she gives me a few direct answers. She wasn't rude, she was straight to the point. Time is a commodity I'm not getting back, I appreciated the non-round about way to get to an answer. So I take my toys and start to go to GameStop, or do I? A solution was found and I make me way to the counter. The items are appraised. I was given a number, yeah it was lower than I wanted. I was given a factual reason as to why the number was given. I did one chance to haggle (I'm terrible at it) and was told with additional information how she landed at the number. I agree, I don't want to walk anymore in the heat, and my eyes were dilated, I'm walking unsteady. They check the device to see that it is in the condition I claim it was. I hand over my license. Asked a few questions and greenbacks were handed to me. I accomplished a task I wanted to today. Is it less than I wanted, sure, someone is gonna get a great deal on a never used Switch 2 with Mario Cart and a new Street Fighter game. They are in business to make money. If I wanted more I could keep it on the Facebook Marketplace and the Nextdoor. Then make my way with thst crap show of people asking questions, flaking or giving me counterfeit bills. I could have gone to GameStop and possibly gotten the same result. It is what it is, and am grateful I got what I got.

The old lady with short hair and glasses (who I'm assuming is manager?) was SO EXTREMELY RUDE I can't even believe the way she behaved towards us as customers. I came in to sell a $3,000 camera to them, despite the lowball offer of only $400 she gave me, said I'd move forward with it anyways. After waiting almost an HOUR and looking around while there (their amount of available items for purchase extremely small and not of good quality as well), I came across a collectors pen they had for sale for almost $2,000 that I told them I was also wanting to purchase. The extremely rude woman then proceeds to tell me that I have to provide her with an original receipt of purchase for the camera I was selling them. The Amazon receipt from the person I purchased the camera from that I showed her apparently didn't work and she needed proof of my personal sale purchase I bought the camera from to buy it (NEVER in my life have I had to jump through so many hoops to sell an item to a pawn shop). Extremely frustrated after spending so much time there already and the attitude this woman was giving me the entire time, I left, drove all the way back home, got my checkbook with the copy of the check I wrote the woman I purchased the camera from, and came back. Please take note, I did not in any way cause any type of scene or raise my voice towards anyone when I left, I was simply agitated and in a hurry to finish this errand and get to my son's school to pick him up before they closed. When I return to this JOKE OF A PAWN SHOP, I come in and this woman immediately starts talking horribly IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER about me and how she didn't like that I was frustrated when I had to leave and drive home to get a copy of the check I wrote to purchase this camera and REFUSED to continue the agreed upon purchase. Not only did they lose out on the profit of this $3000 camera I was willing to sell them for basically nothing, but also the profit they would've gotten from me purchasing the $2000 pen I wanted to buy from their shop as well. I'm an owner of a corporation myself, and if any of my employees EVER treated and talked to a customer the way this woman did to me that day, they would IMMEDIATELY be fired. I will NEVER return to this location or any Money Man Pawn shop again after this horrendous experience, and I highly recommend any person considering going here AVOID at all costs! I would also like to make note to actual management and the owners, to reconsider the type of people you hire to represent your brand, stores, and customer service team. Ridiculous doesn't even begin to define how I was treated and the experience I had here.
