When we met they quoted me for each one. One was a defense case of my ex saying I damaged his truck, and the other one prosecuting him for battery & child endangerment. I was told I could pay separately as long as it was before the cases were tried, I ended up paying all up front. First mistake. We went to court, she showed up looking like she had not slept, blood shot eyes, and smoked 3 packs of cigarettes on the way. She informed me she did not subpoena the officers for the case, that they mixed up the day, and it was going to be an issue with the case. She said she dropped the ball and apologized. Some other factors led to her asking me to make a deal instead of going in front of the judge. During the waiting/discussing between attorneys she ended up making the judge mad by not answering him on something with an officer, who was up all night and then waiting on us for the hearing, he immediately dismissed the one officer we did have for a witness because of it. So we had no witnesses, I had no choice but to sign an agreement. She did not negotiate at all. I should never have been in that position in my opinion and she told me to just pay whatever the cost was because I could afford it and just be happy, that it was better than a mug shot. Because of the agreement I had to drop the other warrant hearing charging my ex for battery for pushing me in front of our children. So I had to pay for my ex to assault me, fun times. She then told me she would not be refunding me for the other hearing that I paid in full for. So she didn't do her job in the first case, I had to settle into an agreement that was not favorable, and then she took my money on a case she didn't have to do work for other than send the court notice the hearing was dropped. She ended up settling to give me a partial refund (less than half) of the original deposit of $2500 after I called her and emailed her about it. I expressed that I felt taken advantage of. Later I asked for her to write up a breach of contract on the original case since my ex didn't fulfill the contract. She refused and said they were not taking any new clients. So she took $5,000 and did zero work on these cases. It's disappointing to see a local business treat another local business this way. The case ended up costing me over $8,500 and she showed up for 30 min and not prepared. I was hopeful I was working with DJ instead after our initial meeting because she said the attorney she was up against, they had bad blood personally and she was concerned that it would carry over to the courtroom. I would suggest working with anyone else because this was an absolute disappointment to pay this amount of money and not have dependable representation.

At no point did I ever meet with Ms. Moore. All of my phone communication and in-person communication was with the paralegal, from the initial consultation through me receiving my payout. At the consultation, I was told that the firm's fee was 30% and at the time that I received my payout the fee miraculously changed to 33%. The firm initiated a claim with my insurance company to receive additional funds but did not inform me of their intentions to do so. I was notified by my insurance company and then I received a call from the paralegal informing me that they had already submitted a claim. The communication with the paralegal was horrible and I had to constantly call her to check on the status of my claim, with very little follow-up. The paralegal initially told me that she would assist with the diminished value on my vehicle but never followed up and I had to take care of that myself. I would never recommend Ms. Moore or her firm. I feel that they were deceptive and their level of service was below average. I also feel that they were only in it for the check they received and not my best interests. Additionally, I signed over a check that the firm received from the insurance received that was in my name. The paralegal presented the check to me backwards and I was instructed to sign the check without seeing it. I had to turn the check around to actually see what I was signing and for what amount. I was then instructed to sign a document indicating that they would withhold monies for any bills that I was still liable for, when I had already instructed them to pay all of my bills first prior to giving me my payout.

From start to finish, the service was abysmal and I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring this firm to think twice. First of all, communication was a major issue. I found it extremely difficult to get ahold of my assigned attorney and when I did, they seemed disinterested and unengaged. I continually had to follow up with them myself to get updates on my case, and when I did finally speak to their clerks, it was clear they hadn't even read my file or were not informed of the specifics of my situation. Secondly, the billing process was a complete mess. I received multiple different invoices with different amounts and descriptions of services provided. When I tried to discuss this with the accounting department, I was met with rudeness and impatience. It felt like they were just trying to squeeze as much money out of me as possible without providing any clear explanation for the charges. I have to find another law firm to sort out the mess that this firm allowed and by mess, I mean the drawn up paperwork makes no sense and is completely incorrect. I signed at the suggestion of the lawyer, realizing now that their service was a waste of time and money. They provided nothing, honestly. Charging repeatedly for paperwork and information that they never used. My case never went to the trial that I thought I was paying for. I paid trial fees for a lawyer to speak to me twice over the course of a year. She was ill or unavailable the rest of the time. Blatant liars and will threaten to drop you and keep your money if you complain, because they need the "trust" of the client. Don't trust them to do right by you. They're money hungry. Overall, my experience with CHISOLM TRIMBLE & ASSOCIATES, LLC. was incredibly disappointing. I would not recommend this firm to anyone looking for professional and reliable legal services. The lack of communication, uninterested attorneys, and confusing billing practices make this firm one to avoid at all costs. Editing because it hurts to think about how they handled my case. Terrible business practices. DO NOT RETAIN THEM!
