South coast makes this an easy place to walk in and take a session. Make sure to book appointment on the website for Nordstrom. This is a little shop inside and book with Jo so that the experience is easy going and well worth the time and amount. Atmosphere is groovy with choices as making the last steps of booking appointments when coming in. Im happy they have more choices to do more piercing now. Service is awesome from Jo and the crew on site when getting set. Love that everyone helps out nearby and piercing is about what we want and how we can get better from what we have. If I could give Jo at Monica Vinader 10 stars, I would. I am completely needle-phobic, and like many had my original piercings done with a gun as a tween, which was, well... not awesome. I first came to Jo kinda on a whim in June... my friend was shopping at Nordstrom and I wandered around and met Jo. My second piercing had closed (before COVID) and I had been hemming and hawing on having it redone because I still remember that tween experience. Jo does only needle piercings, which are COMPLETELY different than the gun, in all the best ways. Did you know there's no health board certification or monitoring for the guns? YIKES! Anyway, Jo is professional, licensed and amazing. She convinced me to give it a shot and I was so nervous. I literally felt a pinch and then nothing--no pain, nada! Jo has such a calming presence and is meticulous in making sure everything is sterilized and ready. She gave me detailed aftercare instructions and her contact information in case I had questions after. I was so impressed that I came back four months later to get one of my first hole piercings corrected... it was too low, too wide and crooked and candidly had always bothered me, but I never wanted to go through getting it redone. And then I decided to get a third hole piercing too. Once again, Jo was a complete PRO. She took her time making markings so we could ensure I was happy with the placement. While the 3rd hole was a little more intense in the moment (more nerve endings in the upper part of the lobe) it was again so stress-free and easy and the recovery has been phenomenal (currently 10 days out). I know there are piercing places close to where I live and I literally waited until I was going to be in Orange County again just to go to Jo--she is THAT GOOD. Thank you! My body is very sensitive to piercings and I have always struggled with the healing process. I had a third piercing on my ear and it closed due to complications during the healing process and I really wanted to try again. I went to the Monica Vinader at Nordstrom and saw they had a piercing studio and decided to try one last time. Jo, the piercer at Monica Vinader, was incredibly helpful and gave me a wonderful experience I haven't had with any previous place I had gone to for piercings. She helped me pick out the right jewelry that would work for the size of my ears (I have thicker earlobes) and thoroughly explained the healing process would take longer for me and how to properly clean and manage my piercing. She was so easy to talk to and the entire process was a breeze. The piercing room was so cute and Jo kept me calm during the piercing and walked me through step by step how to clean it and what to watch out for. My piercing took 6 months to heal, and during that time if I had issues I would see Jo when I went to the mall to show her and she was helpful to let me know it was okay and to just keep up with my cleanings and it's on the way to healing nicely. Ive been pierced by the wonderful Jo 3x already. And each time I go I'm remembered just how great she is! Appointment is recommended but walk ins are accepted if available! (Which is what I did) I've been pierced by guns before at a store I'm sure everyone is familiar with, and it rythmes with Blaire's. It was a horrible experience and would never go back. They kept me waiting 20 mins after appointment time because the client before was taking longer.
