Came in for a consultation. Artist was 1. Lazy- pulled every image from the internet, no hand drawing at all. No knowledge of what happens to certain tattoos when they age. 2. Had the sniffles the whole time-allergies? Sick? I have vulnerable elders, I can't pass that shit on. 3. Shop? Unimpressed- not what I would call a sterile or professional environment. 4. Cologne everywhere. Personally allergic to most, so sitting four four hours with it? No thanks. 5. General malaise. Couldn't vibe. Felt like tough morning after all night party sesh the night before. This review is for my consult experience; I decided to not go with this studio because of it. This is a very nice/upscale studio in Costs Mesa. My appt time was 10:30am on Sat 2/21/26, and they asked me to be there 10 min early, so I was. They checked me in and pointed me to the couches, then just ignored me for 45 min, and finally took me 50 min after my scheduled appt time. No offer for water or coffee/tea, no acknowledgment about the wait (until the very end of my wait). They opened at 10am and weren't doing a damn thing the entire 50 min wait! Two were playing chess when I walked in. When they finally took me, they didn't inquire about my "why" regarding the piece; they just asked for a description and some inspiration examples. They then drew up the design digitally, which was good but not epic. I was only getting black and grey. The price... $2,500 for 8-16 hrs in the chair. Wtf. Even if the piece takes 16 hrs (which I don't think it will), it comes to $156.25 per hr, before tip. Umm, that seems rather steep to me. Their work, from what I've viewed, is good. Studio is professional. Their handling of me for this appointment was offensively impersonal and unprofessional. I will never go back, and hope this review hits a button for them on their lack of care on the customer experience. read more

Recently visited Cleopatra Ink for their Friday the 13th flash tattoo deal last month. It was such a spontaneous decision since we were passing by the store and decided to check it out. Spoiler alert: I left happy and very satisfied with my tattoo and overall experience! First off, shoutout to the staff for how organized and attentive they were! I've done flash tattoo events before and they can get chaotic real fast. This shop, however, had everything running super smoothly. From checking in, to picking the design, to getting the actual tattoo. The whole process felt professional and well executed compared to other shops. I waited for an hour or so before it was my turn. It was so fitting that they had each employee doing specific roles on this chaotic day. They had people monitoring the line, passing out waivers, and also employees placing the stencils on everyone before we got to our tattoo artists. My specific artist made me feel comfortable and took his time, with the tattoo turning out how I hoped it would with clean and sharp lines. My flash only took 10 minutes and he explained how to clean + take care of it afterwards. My only note would be that I was a bit disappointed to learn we could only do 1 flash each, as a lot of the flashes (including the one I got) are super tiny. Originally, I saw they had advertised we could get however many before. Overall, it's always a risk trying a new shop for a flash deal, but Cleopatra Ink definitely exceeded my expectations! Super clean space, great vibes, and friendly staff. I'm genuinely impressed and would consider coming back for future work! Also random add but parking could be difficult, I had to circle around a few times to find a spot since the shop is located in a very busy area. As a memorial piece, it's obvious this tattoo meant a lot to me. The staff was so thorough. I showed them my rough draft and ideas I wanted to incorporate. Together, we fine tuned the piece and I was told the price, time it would take and who would be doing the piece based on expertise. The process was streamlined and smooth. The staff were so kind, considerate and sanitary. I could not be happier, truly. It's by far the best tattoo I have. The shop is beautiful and has fun, whimsical decor. It was extremely clean and I trusted the process entirely. The price seemed steep given I have gotten the other tattoos in the Midwest. I work in a medical field, so I am extremely picky when it comes to sterility. This place had amazing reviews and Vanesza was highly recommended. I stopped in Vanesza was able to take me back within two minutes. I had three piercings done. It took her all of five minutes for all three she was super sweet. My friend and I both walked in and got a fine line tattoos from here this morning. They have great advice as to designs and helped us combine and alter our inspiration photos to make amazing pieces. Our artist was Parviz he specializes in color and realistic tattoos and he did amazing with both of ours. The shop was very quiet and definitely a calm environment for my first tattoo. Most of the artists are pretty quiet but very sweet and obviously dedicated to their art and amazing at it. Both my and my friend's tattoo took about 30 minutes, I was so impressed with Parviz's speed and attention to detail. Mine (rattle the stars) cost $175 and my friend's (the sun and moon) cost $525 after their 30% military discount. Btw their bathroom has the most fun decorations I've ever seen! read more

I will start this by saying that everybody at this shop is friendly and the shop is very nice. That being said, I went for a consultation. I wanted a very specific shark that I had a stencil for. I explained that I wanted it to be as detailed as the stencil and look realistic. The design consultant told me they can add shading and match the stencil. Perfect. I was quoted 900$ which seemed high, but I had the mindset that I was willing to pay the price if it meant having a quality piece of artwork on me forever. I came back a week later for my appointment and we set the stencil. To my surprise the nice lady I had met the week before was not the artist that was doing the work. This was a shock to me but I rolled with it. I had anticipated a 2-3 hour+ session and was prepared. The tattoo took less than 45 mins and it shows. I still tipped the artist and that brought the total to over 1000$. The details were missing, lines were very rough, shading was not great and overall it looked blurry and incomplete. It really bummed me out. Enough to where I didn't even want to show off the tattoo. I ended up going to another reputable shop a few days after and had a consultation to fix it and add more. He was able to rework the shark, add another of the same size with MUCH more detail, AND a full watercolor background around all of it FOR LESS THAN THE 1000 I ORIGINALLY PAYED AT CLEOPATRA INK!!! What a joke. I have seen some of the work they do at cleopatra and it looks great. I'm not sure why that didn't show whatsoever with my tattoo, but I feel like I got scammed.. hard. Save your frustration, time, money, and skin and go somewhere else. Truly a big let down. read more

I just got a tattoo cover up this past Saturday, May 4th. The shop is extremely clean and bright and I was warmly greeted by one of the managers. The gentleman that did my tattoo was amazing and really did a wonderful job.
