I finally gathered up enough courage to get my fourth lobe piercing and after much research, I found Lucina. I could tell from our initial conversation that she was the sweetest person and by far the best choice. I went in yesterday and we chatted, laughed and I got my piercing. I was shocked at how painless it was. I was pierced elsewhere a few years ago and it was not painless so I was expecting the same this time around. Lucky for me, that wasn't the case. She is extremely skilled and has a soft touch. I was almost tempted to get a few more but I'll be heading back there in a few weeks anyway so...maybe I will! Parking is a tad confusing but they do have an area in the back you can park in as well as public parking about a block away. Needless to say, I've recommended her to my friends who plan on booking with her as well. If you're looking to get any kind of piercing done, this is definitely the place to go and Lucina is definitely the person to see! read more

Lucina is the perfect person for someone who wouldn't settle for other than a perfect outcome!! I had ear lobe done ten years ago in a mall with a piercing gun which always bothered me with slight asymmetric locations between left and right ears and also frequent swelling. On my 40th birthday, I got a pair of nice earrings and wanted to restart my piercing journey. Found Lucina on yelp and cannot be happier! She was so pleasant, kind and reassuring. I was given two different options for ear lobe piercing locations (I really wanted left and right side to be symmetrical) each of which she explained pros and cons, why she recommends one over the other, and even some science behind piercing! Honestly I felt like I was getting the level of service I would expect at top hospitals!! You can just tell when someone is passionate about what she does. Three weeks after, I am happy how beautifully my earrings are sitting and oh I am so happy there's no more swelling. I just regret not getting it done with an expert in the first place. The establishment is clean. She is super sweet and funny! I had been found some research trying to find a reputable piercer for my navel piercing because no one knows about floating navel jewelry. So after days and days of research, I found her! I looked through her profile on Instagram and I saw that she knew about floating navel jewelry. I'll probably be updating this with every new piercing I get from Lucina! I got my rook pierced back in April 22 by someone else (tragic decision, really). In the end, Lucina gave me the advise to have it removed, which she was glad to do for me, and my ear felt so much relief the second it was out. Just another glimpse into how knowledgeable and trustworthy she is in her job as a piercer! While I was there I got my conch pierced. Of course, a great decision to go to Lucina. Sharkbite Piercings is founded with the belief that body piercing, body jewelry, and the attached services should always be of high quality. Striving to work closely with each client's unique needs, Lucina ensures that from pierce to heal, you will get to your goal as easily and quickly as possible. As a fully disposable studio, this also reduces any chances of harm arising from any procedures done with Lucina. I always do my best to make all my clients feel welcome, and ensure you are walking away with everything that should last you a lifetime (as long as you take care of it!) The shop's basics include quality implant grade titanium. 14k/18k gold, niobium, and implant grade steel are also available selectively, or by special order. Our titanium, gold, niobium and platinum jewelry is nickel free and safe for sensitive skin. Please be sure to note that this business operates on an appointment only basis and does not generally accept walk ins - this is due to no one being present at the studio without an appointment. History

Established in 2017.

Lucina was apprenticed in 2017 and graduated in October of 2017 to become a fully licensed piercer. Sharkbite Piercings has been the handle I have used since inception, however, Sharkbite Piercings being its' own, separate brand/business has only been since June 2022. From 2017-2022, the business was located inside of a tattoo shop in Fullerton. When it was clear our goals were not aligned for what we wanted for our clients, I decided to part ways. Sharkbite Piercings was then attached to a different tattoo shop on the Balboa Penninusla in Newport Beach from 2022-2025. Now, as of May 2025, Sharkbite Piercings is in the Phenix Salon Suite in Placentia, CA by the Ralph's on Rose St. Please note the doors are locked after 6 and you will need to contact me to be let in if you have an appointment!

Yes we do! It's either no fee with purchase of jewelry or $10 per every 3 items installed if it's purchased elsewhere. I typically will not install anything super low quality (external threading) for client safety.

Do you offer ear piercing for babies?

I unfortunately do not currently offer piercings for children under 8 years of age.

He ended up finding an estate gold chain that looked absolutely perfect for my husband's pendant in shine and style. We tried it for a few days (they give you 30 days hassle-free) and my husband knew it wasn't the right length of style for his personal preference and our tuggy toddlers within one day. It was gorgeous and I wished it worked out, but maybe not for us. We came back a few days later after Christmas Eve and Brandon helped me out again with the return and gave me suggestions for the length of my husband's necklace based on preference. I saw people coming in and out during the two times I went and I see why. These people are amazing, patient, knowledgeable, super friendly and not pushy at all. Nick was very friendly, and was more than happy to measure her wrist. When we told him what it was for, he gave us quite the education about purchasing online medical bracelets, and that many of them use hollow gold. When we showed him the one we were looking at, he said there's no way its solid gold at that price. Hollow bracelets scratch and dent more easily, and once dented can break. You don't want to skimp on something that might save your life someday. Nick showed us a big catalog of medical bracelets with various metals and styles. She found a solid gold one that one she really liked, so I put down a deposit and had it ordered. A little over a week later, it came in and we went to pick it up. He included the engraving for free and gave me about a 15% discount off the retail price. I'm assuming I probably could have gotten a bigger discount if I negotiated, but I felt he earned it given how he saved us from originally making a poor decision. If she decides it is a little too loose on her wrist, he said to just come back and he will remove as many links as needed for free. It looks and feels like high quality piece of jewelry, and it was only a few hundred dollars more than the one we were going to originally purchase online. It is always nice to make a purchase in person were you can ask questions and get a feel for the business. Nick's gets flying colors.

The woman at the front, shorter and curlier dark brown hair was asking me what I was looking for. I had purchased a ring online and was browsing for other options (wasn't sure if I was going to keep it). As soon as I said that I had purchased my ring online, her attitude immediately changed. She asked me probing questions like where I got my ring and whether my diamond as lab or mined. I felt uncomfortable, I wish I just left at that point. I gave her some specifics for what I was looking for, and every type of request was just turned down or "yeah.. I'm gonna have to go on the back to check" in the most reluctant way. She finally let me try on a few different rings. I asked her if she has any knife edge rings, to which she paused. I wasn't sure if she knew what they were, I wasn't even sure if that's the right term for it, but she replied back so condescendingly like "I know what that is" with a stern face. Relax, I wasn't questioning anyone's knowledge or authority. After maybe 5 minutes of me trying on different rings, she started talking about how her time is precious and the owners are paying her for her time spent with customers. Am I not a customer?? And mind you, I was the ONLY customer in the store. I almost wanted to stop her right there and point that out. What else is the owner paying you to do, if not to help me? Just stand there and wait around? So no, I will never be back and would never recommend anyone else to come given the service here. They treat you like a dollar, and if it doesn't look like you're "worth it" to spend time with, then they just toss you away. If the owner is training his associates to treat people this way and hiring someone like her, my guess is the owner is twice as shallow. Come here if you want to be treated like a dollar sign instead of a human being.
