Monica's is my jam! The best spot in Monroe for authentic doughnuts. They have two cute locations, one in Monroe & one in Frenchtown. They also serve up freshly baked goods; hoho (and other variety) cupcakes, breads, cookies, Rice Krispie treats, and so much more! While do keep trying this place?!?! I can blame friends who don't know better. Or maybe I am not in the chosen Class that get eatible stuff. Different visits across the years got the same disappointment. Stale cupcakes, donuts with too little frosting, butter cream frosting that too thin to even call it that. The iced sugar cookie is not a choice if you have to be polite to those you are with. Could be much better if others tell the truth and only the truth, you need to up the game so those of use who have Travel far and wide that we know the level of bakery items should always be. I have been here twice now and I'm very impressed!! At first I was nervous because of the negative customer service reviews, but my experiences were both great! Each time I was here, I got a dozen donuts for my family and some cute decorated sugar cookies for my nieces. The gals that waited on me were very friendly and helpful during both of my visits. The donuts were very fresh and delicious, and my nieces devoured the cookies (they probably ate more than they should've, but I love to spoil those girls). I will definitely be back when I'm in town!! read more

Our trusty GPS led us to this donut shop, though under another name, turns out Monica's had a HUGE selection of sweet treat for great prices! Not just donuts, but cupcakes, cakes, bars, cookies and anything my sweet tooth could desire. Each was priced well at no more than $2 a piece thus led us to buy more than "just a bite of something sweet" that we originally came in for. Everything tasted great, my favorite being the pecan sandy, not dry and bland as sandies usually are but plump and fresh, equally amazing was the peanut butter/coconut/chocolate bar at 85 cents (can you believe that?), lemon bar (also 85 cents!!!) and cookies for 60 cents a piece! They make the best fresh donuts. It's a donut on steroids so big and actually has filling in it!!! We had their cakes those are super moist and their frosting taste very good, light tasting not heavy. Their pastries are spot on also thank you for the great smiles and greetings. Always great customer service thank you!!!! If they had 10 stars I would put that instead they deserve a 10. read more

Bought a pumpkin roll and coconut cream pie. Pure garbage. The coconut cream pie tasted like tanning lotion. I took one bite and threw the whole pie in garbage. The pumpkin roll was hard as hell. You could tell they've been frozen for months. 40 dollars worth of garbage. You all need to just close down and retire because you sure don't know how to make quality items just how to rip people off. You don't deserve the 1 star that I had to give for this review read more

Love their donuts, but I crave them at all times of the day, not just early. Guess they can't make them but once per day. Hate when I walk in at 2pm & the donut case is all but empty. The donuts were great. The service , not so much. I'm there to buy from you. The decision not to label a single damn donut is yours so don't act annoyed if I ask for you to tell me what you have, then you rush through the flavors so I basically end up not knowing what I'm getting. Some simple tray labels would alleviate this situation. read more

We ordered the paczkis this year for Fat Tuesday and they were delicious. The paczkis were super fresh and there were plenty of flavors to choose from. Better yet, everyone in the bakery was really nice, even though it was incredibly early in the morning and pretty busy. I would come here again in a heartbeat. read more

Couldn' wait to see them when I picked them up...I was so embarrassed to bring them to the shower since they weren't what I asked for....thought that they would be just like the cookies on their website but they were so plain and terrible looking...Cake wasn't what I asked for either....so will not order cakes nor cookies from this place again read more

I just got donuts, can't speak to any other items. As the stars indicate, they're ok. Despite everyone in the area acting like they're the best donuts on the planet, they're nothing special. They're obviously better than chains & grocery bakeries, but that's not saying much. Yes, they are large & soft & delicious but no more so than other (actual) bakeries. The woman who helped me was curt bordering on rude from the moment she said next. It didn't help her attitude that nothing was labeled so I had to ask if they had what I wanted. A mom and pop place with a little soul and great treats! It was an early Sunday morning and I was on a quest. I was visiting a friend and they had the passion for church, I had the passion for doughnuts. Fitting, huh? They did their thing, so I had to do my part. I was looking for a Krispy Kreme, but my search was to no avail, but I'm very happy I found Monica's! From the moment you walk in, look around, and try and figure out what you want - you've built up quite an appetite. The folks that work there know what they're talking about, and are even willing to just put something together for you if you're going to buy a number of goods. I enjoy small talk with workers to try and get their take on what's good and what isn't. I don't think they were trying to confuse me, but I think they said almost everything is good by naming individual items. Eventually getting confused as everything looked amazing, I just told them to put some things in a box and let me get to eating. Everything in the box was great! I'm a huge Krispy Kreme fan, but in Monroe - it's Monica's for me. Tip - make sure you have a napkin. These things are crumbly, but in all the best ways! read more

Absolutely the best bakery in Monroe. Places like this make me wonder why anyone would go to Tim Hortons or any chain place for donuts. If I want donuts (and happen to be in the area), I will go out of my way to go here. I mostly go to the smaller location on North Dixie Highway in Frenchtown, but they are both essentially the same. Their donuts are reasonably priced, always fresh, and very filling. It's hard to chose what you want. They have a lot of other things, like cakes, desserts, and whatnot; but I always get donuts, and this place does that perfectly. read more

Incredibly rude. I called today to see if they could deliver sweets to my family after my Grandma's recent passing. Not only was the woman on the phone not compassionate, she was curt and pushed me off the phone bc they had "only two people working today." I am appalled at this unprofessional bakery. I love 31 Flavor's mint chocolate chip ice cream :). When they built this location in Monroe, I was excited. There were already three Tim Horton's locations in the City of Monroe, which was OK, but their donuts are just not the same. Don't get me wrong, I love Dunkin Donuts, but this location is screwy. First off, they built it right next to a Tim Horton's and Coldstone. Seriously, there is a Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robins within walking distance of Timmy ho's and Coldstone. Location Location Location!!! Their food is great when they have it in stock or are able to serve it, which somehow can be an issue here. Also, while I love Dunkin Donuts for their great donuts, their breakfast sandwhiches are AWFUL. They LOOK awful, they SMELL awful, they ARE awful. Their coffee is subpar, which is to be expected. Also slightly disappointed that their hours changed from 24 hours to 6am to Midnight.
