Selection is incredible!!! Last time we went the customer service was ... questionable, but maybe they were having a really bad day. Didn't take away from the mouth watering desserts but would have been nice to be treated with a bit more of a warm welcome and not like we were more of a burden. I have been hearing great things about Bakery Unlimited so I was excited to finally check it out. I have been searching for my favorite donuts in Toledo so I definitely needed to stop in. This place offers a lot of baked goods and has a ton of variety. The service was great and the workers were friendly and helpful. In regard to the donuts, they are some solid donuts and have lots of options from yeast to classic cake ones and specialty ones like fritters. For me the donuts were a bit dry across the board, especially the fritter. I tend to like a more crispy, airy fritter and this was more cake like so if that is your cup of tea then you will definitely like this fritter. There also were no apple pieces in mine which was a bit of a bummer, but good flavor. The other donuts were pretty basic, the frosting is SUPER sweet, too sweet for me and it was a bit overpowering especially for the apple filled. The maple persian was VERY GOOD! It was a cinnamon bun donut with the maple Persian icing, super yummy and I would recommend it as that specific donut was airy and light. the cake donuts were good, a bit dry but good flavor. I wish the sour cream donut was crispier but I just do not think that is their style here so it is whatever you like! Regardless, a cute place for sure and I love supporting local bakeries and shops like this whenever I can. read more

They were terrible! Horrible customer service! Rude the entire time I had to deal with them. Told them I had to order 5 cakes for my daughters quinceañera Had to go up there numerous times to get the information correct as they didn't know what a quinceañera was and I explained to several different people what it was. The day of the event I called to go get all 5 of my cakes. They said they were not all done and needed an hour. I told them I had a ceremony and would be up there after. They closed before I got there and my daughter didn't have here cakes! Wasted all $400 They never apologized just said I should have known when they closed hours are listed on website and door. I mean how are you a bakery and don't know what a quinceañera is? I gave them a chance bc I figured maybe it was just one worker that was rude but it actually was all of them! read more

Favorite Bakery in all the Toledo area--for flavor and variety. We like their nut roll, cinnamon rolls, and pecan bread. They have many kinds of doughnuts and individual pastries. Their seasonal decorated cookies are outstanding!! For Halloween they have wizard hats, Frankenstein, ghosts, and mummy cookies that are so cute! Their cakes and cupcakes are very pretty. read more

I conducted a paczki search i the Toledo Area. I purchased paczki from the following: Haas Bakery Bakery Unlimited Sautter's Market Strachn Bakery In my opinion, Sautter's Market made the largest paczki and definitely had the most filling. Haas, Strachn, and Bakery Unlimited were about the same size and priced similarly. There was something about Bakery Unlimited dough that set their paczki apart from the rest. I may be wrong, but I tasted a hint of nutmeg and seemed to taste a bit lighter than the others. Bakery Unlimited was also the only bakery that had unpowdered paczki as well. With that said, my choice for best paczki in 2023 for the Toledo Area goes to Bakery Unlimited on Secor Road in Toledo. read more

I tried their donuts because I live in the area. I got a couple glazed. They were very bland it was like they needed salt and maybe a little extract. That was about a year and a half ago. So I tried them again just recently I figured we all have bad days, maybe it was better this time. NOPE!!! The best donut in my opinion was either Mama C's on Conant or scratching Bakery on Holland Sylvania and Angola both of these are excellent good flavor nice and fresh and they were very welcoming. The Bear Claws are just as I remembered them going to Hinkle's as a child. We also picked up a half dozen cake donuts. Our favorite was the glazed chocolate. Great service at the Sylvania location. We will be back the next time we are in town! read more

My review is based on buying items prepared by Bakery Unlimited at the Dragon's Roost, a new coffee shop and game store on Sylvania Ave & McCord. This shop sells a bunch of their items. I tried the "bear claw" and it was delish so I bought one for $2.00. It is not what you normally think of a bear claw. It is not a giant pastry but instead a long thin pastry (very flat) and could reasonably be a bear's claw (just one claw on its paw) with white frosting. It's really good!! Also, the recipe comes from an old Toledo bakery that closed 15 years ago (the coffee shop owner told me) and this bakery won the bake off that granted them the secret recipe. Then I got a brownie with white frosting and marshmallows + a brownie with chocolate frosting. WOW THEY WERE SO GOOD I COULD NOT STOP EATING. Like WOW. If this is but a sample of their items, I can't wait to visit the main store. read more

We have gotten Yule logs here for the last 2 years. Last year we were not happy with it because the buttercream was more of a grocery store sugar frosting. This year we decided to try one last time and when we picked it up and got it home we found that the log had split.not a small one but the whole top layer had broken open (see pics). When I called they told me since they were made to order they had no more (I expected that) and that they could do a refund if I got there before they closed at 2. (Not possible) Their reasoning was that 'mistakes happen and human error happens' I'm sorry but if it was like this when it was boxed then they knew and simply tried to pass it off. I am frustrated as the holidays are hard enough for our household and to have what we usually see as the centerpiece of our Christmas feast it's a serious letdown. Tried bakery unlimited years back and was ok with them, I figured I'd give them another try. I got 6 donuts and ate three. The first up was the Boston Creme which was very skimpy on the filling and dry. Next up was the strawberry jelly donut which was excellent and had plenty of filling. The last one I tried was the apple fritter which was also very dry and kind of tasteless. I would try a cake or another jelly donut here, but I will probably stick with Cafe Donuts it's leagues better. read more

I want to love this place, but the staff is so rude that I won't go back. I moved to area a few years ago. My boyfriend always brought donuts home from there. Two weeks ago I called to see if I needed to place an order ahead of time. Girl who answered phone couldn't answer any questions asked, and misquoted prices (found that out later when I went in to buy). Went in to get Cronuts. Nobody else in there. Staff was rude and yelled that I was looking in wrong place for them (1st time in store by the way). She also rudely took my money and dropped my change on counter instead of handing back. Very disappointed today. I went in to the Secor Road location to order "decorate your own cookie kit" for my daughters class. Wanted 30 cookies and 6 bags of frosting for next Tuesday (today is Thursday), so 5 days from today. They don't want to do a special order. They are to busy. Just buy 2 kits (48 cookies). So we walked out and will go the a different bakery to get our cookies. One morning, I woke up craving SOUR CREAM DOUGHNUTS. It wasn't an ordinary craving, but one that had to be satisfied. It was a Sunday. Da Bears were playing the Lions. I asked around via text, and was told to check out Wixey bakery. Wixey...was closed. I knew they sold doughnuts at Unlimited but I had no idea they "got it like that". I was having an intense personal debate in my head trying to decide whether to get one, two, or four (because three would just be weird) and walked out of there with half a dozen. Got my sour cream doughnuts, apple fritter, honey bun, cream filled and blueberry. I ate both of my sour cream doughnuts without anyone ever knowing, and I did it before I even had the chance to offer it to my friend that weekend. The apple fritter was also pretty amazing--- i would return for just those two alone and get half a dozen of each. Made from scratch, to die for, and affordable. It was worth it...40 minutes driving around aimlessly looking for doughnuts kind of worth it. Also, customer service was up to par on this day. Very friendly young lady greeted me right away and stopped whatever it was she was doing just to make sure i was taken care of. Offered recommendations and made sure I walked out of there happy. Had given it a couple of tries but boy, the counter staff has been very rude everytime. I get it---been there/bad days. But this is every time. We had enjoyed a couple of the donuts available right before Lent. The other ones--naw, no taste. The cupcakes were very dry. And the sugar cookies had a weird aftertaste. Everything is displayed nicely but they keep very few items in stock, even early in the day. We tried but won't again. I'm so disappointed in Bakery Unlimited. I brought my daughter in this morning to get her 2 sugar cookies for a job well done at her new school. The only card I had with me had a low balance. My daughter has been trying to adjust to moving schools mid semester and it's been hard on her. I went to get my baby some cookies and the women in the store told me I couldn't get even buy the cookies because I wasn't spending $5. I explained the situation and they told me I needed to spend more $$ on my card or not shop there. They were Trying to FORCE me to buy donuts and to spend more money which I did not have on me. My daughter was devistated she couldn't have her cookie prize after a week of hard work. I've been teaching in Toledo and the training director of the union local has been bringing in these donuts. OMG! Are these donuts awesome! I'm not a fan of greasy donuts like Krispy Kreme.
