I've been Coworking here for about 7 months now. I truly enjoy the space, and the perks are amazing! I first started as a common desk, which allowed me to float from the kitchen and other common area tables. It was kind of pain loading and unloading a lot of my office supplies so I upgraded to a private desk in April and it was the best decision ever. Having a dedicated plug for my electronics and being able to leave paper products and other personal items is great. Other perks I greatly appreciate: spacious conference rooms, unlimited Black/White printing, free coffee, tea, kefir soda and phone booth access. I forgot about fridge access as well. It's nice for me to store some of my breakfast and lunch items for myself instead of running to Trader Joe's or Chick-fil-A every day. read more

Great location in Liberty Station. Plenty of food and drink places nearby. Nice quiet atmosphere. And beer on tap! I would have given them 5 stars but sometimes the printer isn't working and i can't get anything to print. They have to reset the printer in order for it to start working again. This place was so DIRTY - it was repulsively disgusting. First, the kitchen - omg barf. It's like no one on the staff could be bothered to clean anything. They said it was the members' responsibliity so they just left stuff in there forever. Spilled drink slop on the counters, food remnants dried, crusted over and on the cabinets, floors and all over the fridge. The bathrooms were equally as dirty. I don't know how much it costs to hire a cleaner but maybe they could think about it. The setup was AWFUL - it reminded me of my super depressing corporate America job where everyone is cramped together in close quarters and cubicles. The ambiance was misery. Very masculine as in just plain, boring and utilitarian. SMELLS weird - like not BO but just stale or something. If you're looking for an inspirational place to work and fun cameraderie with others, then avoid this place at all costs. It's just terrible. read more

I have a couple friends who work out of here and when I get to visit them and work in the space, I get why they choose to be here everyday. It's really chill and they have beer and cold brew on tap, probably my favorite perk. Carlo and Nikki are also super nice and you always see them walking around making sure the place is taken care of! read more

I love this place. I only get down there 2-3 times a week but it's a work space with coffee and craft beer included in the monthly rate. Unlimited B&W copies are included and you can get a locker to store your work valuables Outside is a ping-pong table and about a dozen Stand Up Paddleboards for members to use. Want to enjoy lunch somewhere in Liberty Station but don't want to walk? Grab one of the bikes available and pedal over there. read more

This review is long overdue. I had been a member for several months in 2019 and paid monthly for the general workspace, unlimited use. I found that I wasn't going enough as I had calls throughout the day and was having trouble finding a private space (without paying additional) When I gave 30 days notice to cancel I was just past the 1st of the month so I had to pay for the current month as well as the entire next month (not prorated based on 30 days notice). I recalled in my conversation when I was considering joining being told you could cancel with 30 days notice and nothing about that timing needing to align with the 1st of the month but they said it was in the contract so...ok, a contract is a contract. Also as a side note, they didn't seem to care one but that I hadn't been seeing value in my membership type and offered me no other package types for a more limited use. Flash forward a few months down the road and my friend tells me they do in fact have more reasonable packages for people who only want to come a few days a month. That had never been offered to me the first time around. I liked the space, fellow members, and getting out of my home so I inquired about and signed up for the 10 days per month offer. Again with the first of the month rule at play, because i was going to sign up in the middle of the month, I wouldn't get a full month to use the 10 day allotment as they expire at the end of the month so I wait for the start of the next month. Seems a little bizarre that nothing can be prorated. Flash forward again a few months later to when I lose my job just before Covid hits the US. Since it was towards the end of the month and I needed to be home for very private calls I asked if I could roll some of my unused days into the next month. Again, I am in the common space so they would not losing money by allowing this - I am not taking up a private desk or office. They told me that they couldn't allow this since my contract stated blah blah...at that point I was done. I deal with clients and contracts all day long and and if any one of my clients has a life altering event take place (and losing a job of 15 years is traumatic) I do what I can to help them. This company showed me that They really don't care about their members outside of the money they pay (at least not me) and extending a hand in the short term in order to keep me as a member was not if interest to them. read more

This place has so much potential. It's a large space with free parking, which is hard to find in San Diego. Plus, the location, paddle boards and bikes are all great amenities. That said, I have to agree with the other reviewers about the cleanliness and overall mismanagement of the space. The trash cans are usually full, stains on the toilets may stay there for days, food/drink stains are on the table, the printer is not reliable, etc. Plus, the free coffee that people raved about in other reviews is not consistently available (or good). I just started bringing my own coffee to avoid a hassle. I also feel like there's a general disregard and inflexibility towards members, which seems hypocritical because you're expected to just accept all of the non-kept promises on their end. I think if they tightened up the ship, this could potentially be an amazing co-working space, but they're not there yet. read more

I have never worked in a co-working space before but Moniker has set the bar high! The space is big, open and very welcoming. There are lots of places to hang out during the day including a huge couch, lots of tables and private phone booths. The conference rooms are great as well and provide our team the ability to meet in a quiet space when needed. There is a huge kitchen complete with hot coffee, cold brew and a rotating beer on tap. The monthly happy hours are always a blast and are great ways to interact with other members. In addition to a clean, comfortable workspace, there are plenty of amenities. Bicycles are available to grab and go for that quick trip out for lunch or just a quiet ride along the water. Ping pong, cornhole and picnic tables out in the courtyard are a great way to relax and take a midday break. Best of all, they have paddle boards! Since Moniker is located right on the bay, it is super easy to grab a paddle board and head out on the water either during lunch or after work for a relaxing stroll through Liberty Station. Being in Liberty Station, it can be difficult to work outside due to the plane noise but you rarely hear the planes from inside the building. The men's bathroom only has one stall which is where the shower is located so there is sometimes a wait in the bathroom, but a second bathroom at the front of the building is helpful. The staff are amazing, kind, thoughtful and always around when you need something. As far as co-working goes, I doubt you could find a better spot in the city. Free parking and a fun location make Moniker Commons a great place to work. read more

I absolutely love being a part of the Moniker Commons Community! My company has been renting space here for the last year and it only gets better with time. The space is always buzzing with energy, the staff are genuinely kind (seriously this team is always up to help with whatever you need) and the location is a dream. Plus, the aesthetic is rad so I'm always feeling inspired by the murals on the wall and the different design aspects. My favorite aspect is the variety of options. Depending on the day and how I'm feeling, I can stay in our companies private office or move my laptop to one of the many communal areas and work there. It helps keep me from getting bored but also allows me the ability to disconnect from other people when I have a project I really need to work on and not be disturbed. read more

The property manager, Brian Tustin, likes to spy on people through the camera. (Yelp admins: I have proof of this). The staff there have complained privately about him but since he's related to somebody higher up he's probably not going anywhere. Lots of moniker employees including one of the front desk ladies have complained to me privately about his unreasonably entitled demeanor. And how he abuses the spy cameras for his personal gain. The space itself is nice. But with a shorty owner, just not worth it. read more

I've been working at moniker warehouse for nearly a year, so I was excited to see what the team did with moniker commons. This place definitely lives up to the high expectations set with moniker coffee. Moniker commons has some great conference rooms, breakout areas, and a lot of fantastic people working here. It's a great spot whether you're more of a social worker or like to keep to yourself, as it's laid out in such a way that caters to both camps. There's some amazing artwork over the "phone booth" area and the decor fits in perfectly with the new goings on at liberty station. And to top it all off, moniker commons has some great people working there and an outdoor hangout area with cornhole. Awesome community of people! The vibe of the area is supportive and friendly but still focused. Where most co-working I've seen is more of a use a desk and leave kind of atmosphere, this place does a great job of creating a sense of support and encouragement when is essential when you are an entrepreneur or freelancer. The staff here is super friendly and takes the time to get to know you and do whatever they can to make the best experience possible for you. They are attentive and take care of the amenities incredibly. Speaking of amenities!...They have paddleboards steps away from the bay! I have visited at least half a dozen shared workspaces in San Diego, and Moniker Commons is by far the best I've seen. As far as cowork spaces go, they are TOP NOTCH. Big ups for the cold brew and beer on tap. The staff are super friendly and it's clear they really care. Such a great co-work space! I love spending time at Moniker Commons - even on the weekends. The staff is super friendly and helpful. And the space is really well laid out. It never feels crowded or super loud. There are all types of spaces from open table areas to private offices. And there are well equipped conference rooms. I love working at Moniker Commons. The co-working space is great!! They have many events here that let all of the workers get to know one another. This place has the ideal environment for a work place. Being located right by Liberty Public Market is a major plus as well. There are many restaurants in walking distance. The hunt is finally over. For the past few months the company I work for has been looking for a new office space that feels like us. We wanted something open, inspiring and full of energy. We didn't want it to feel like we were going to an office but rather a place where creativity could be born. We toured Wework, Spaces and a few other co-working facilities but none of them offered the feel and benefits that Moniker Commons did. After Casey encouraged us to try one week there we fell in love. The space is trendy, clean and has lots of unique work spaces to use. One of our favorite features are the conference rooms you can rent with your membership. This has been essential for us in order to still have a little privacy when needed. The community there is warm and friendly. The location is also gorgeous! It's situated in Liberty Station giving you access to amazing restaurants, yoga & fitness, entertainment & special event and so much more. My public relations team was one of the first to move into this coworking office in Liberty Station. The location, amenities, atmosphere, and supportive staff that work on-site completely sold us! Our 4-person team opted for the permanent desks out in the main hall. We work here Monday - Friday from 9 to 5 and find that the office is very conducive to our needs as writers and creative strategists. There's plenty of meeting space available, from quiet conference rooms to communal tables. They even have an outdoor patio area. Other amazing perks include: a full kitchen stocked with cold brew on nitro, a rotating craft beer selection, concierge service, monthly yoga classes, standup paddleboards and bikes, alongside educational seminars and on-site networking events. If you're in the market for a new office, I'd definitely suggest talking to the Moniker Commons team and touring the property.
