As someone who bruises easily, I do wish I'd worn jeans and gotten a cushy, padded backpack strap kind of harness. That said, I'll be back! If you have a kid who is at all afraid of heights, I'd recommend the mini monkey course before level 1 for sure. read more

My daughter has asked every summer for the last 4 years if we can go to Monkey Business. I initially wouldn't go because I thought the cost didn't justify the activity. I surprised her this year by booking a reservation for the 2 of us. Reservations are available in 30 minute blocks, which works out really well to space out groups of people. The entire process was run well and very organized. All of the staff members working were pleasant and helpful (which honestly is rare when you go to a business that has mostly younger people working). They recommend you only reserve tier 1 and add on as you go if you want to and then pay the difference. I am SO HAPPY I did this. When we got to the 2nd tier and they asked if we wanted to keep going, we both said no. We were both terrified the entire time, it doesn't look that high when you're standing on the ground watching, but it's a different story when you're on the course. Safety protocols were fantastic and someone was always there on the course to assist. I did let my kid add on the $10 zip lining at the end. It included 2 long zips and 1 short one. I'm glad we finally did this and also happy she will probably never ask again lol. read more

It was Memorial Day weekend, not the greatest weather however my family of four decided Zip Line at Monkey Business. We've Ziplined before except for the hubby however this time he decided to join us since this one compared to our last was much smaller. The young staff was professional, patient and accommodating. They went over the rules twice. Once while suiting up and at take-off. Our guide Jesse was awesome. He kept it funny and lite especially for those who were added to our group that was a little nervous. When gliding your overlooking the lake and forest...just beautiful. Even on a dreary day. This is an expensive day out so it's a good idea to know what you are getting so that you are not disappointed. Some folks (especially little kids) will think this is terrific while others may find it less than exciting. They have a no refund policy. Let me start with the positives. The staff and team members were highly accommodating, informed, and professional. They accommodated the flexibility with our arrival time given some weather issues and covid19 concerns. And our guide, Levi, was cheerful and helpful. The ropes course is situated overlooking the lake and, on a gorgeous sunny day, you can watch the boats and jet skis go by. Really a stunning view. Also, the ropes course looks to be very safe and well-maintained. No worries there. On the negative side, if you have done any ropes courses before, you will find this to be a fairly simple, short, unchallenging course. The elements are fairly basic and not terribly creative compared to other courses that I and my family have done. They have three levels ranging in difficulty and you can choose how many you want to do and pay for. Zip lining is an extra cost. The other thing which we did not like about the course is that you pay for one run through the course. In other courses, you pay for a block of time and do as many elements or courses as you want. In other words, if you are fast on the course, you could blow through your money in 75 minutes doing 2 of the 3 courses. We were four people but I can imagine if they were more than that, it would take a longer time and include a lot of waiting around. Since we were two adults and two teenagers, we felt the course was slow and not particularly interesting considering we spent $270 for all of us. It might be a completely different situation if you were seven years old... We did not do the zip line but it is very short so it did not seem worth it. In short, this could be a wonderful day out as long as you go in with your expectations tempered. read more

Went in to do Axe Throwing they offer, only people in there which was nice so had the place to ourselves!! Hourly rate was good price! Definitely had a lot of fun. Just didn't feel like it was a fun environment. Definitely could use some music to just set the vibe for the place so it's not just dead silent and hearing axes bang against the wall. Also could look into getting some kind of food options besides chips. The 1 beer a hour policy must just be something for the county whereas other Axe Places pretty much let you drink when you want. Besides that it was fun and the bathrooms were clean and the tall tables you can sit at! read more

Their (very short) zip line is over a parking lot and costs extra (even after you paid for the main tier). The rest looked pretty basic and very overpriced, too. I guess that explains that the business is pretty empty even on a weekend with gorgeous, not too hot weather. I came here to zip line with my boyfriend on 8-15 and had an amazing time. We completed all three tiers, but it was definitely a challenge and requires upper body strength. Our guide was super knowledgeable (sadly I forgot his name) and he helped me overcome my fears. I did have an initial fear of heights and falling, but as time went on I became better and less fearful and grew to love the challenge. I even took all the hardest routes recommended by my guide as some routes are easier than others. Also, they weren't pressuring at all either or intimidating which is nice. The ending is the best part when you can sit back and enjoy the ziplining experience. The price isn't bad either. We paid $74.99 a person for all three tiers and it definitely took us well over an hour to complete it, probably closer to two hours. I didn't really keep track. Other zip lining courses I have been to were not as challenging and I paid per hour. Also, this course is not repetitive either so you won't have to do the same thing more than once. Plus, you still get to ride all of the fun ziplines at the end even if you do not complete all three levels. I'd recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a physical challenge and an adrenaline rush. My only complaint was the location, deep creek is such a beautiful place I feel like the could of had a more scenic place to build the park, but if your up high enough you get a nice view of the lake. I definitely plan to come back in the future the next time I am in Deep Creek. read more

We did Tier II, which includes Tier I. You have to finish Tier I before advancing to II. It was very challenging!! Even the first level was quite difficult for us. The height makes it scary but fun, and takes some getting used to! The guides were so patient and helpful. We want to try Tier III during our next trip. It took us (5 people) about 1.5 hours to finish both I&II. We had a great time! read more

My 12 year old daughter decided she wanted to try the level 1 ropes course. The staff at Monkey Business was helpful in every aspect. She never felt rushed. Not only was there a safety video explaining how to use the equipment but there is also a practice course, close to the ground, where she could apply what she just learned without the fear of falling. From the moment she entered the course she had a guide, Dante, helping her maneuver the obstacles and giving her encouragement to keep going when she wanted to give up. Thanks to the wonderful staff my daughter was able to have a great time and learned to overcome her fears. I would reccomend this place to anyone. read more

My family (ages 7 to 72) had an excellent time at Monkey Adventure Park! From the mini ropes course for the 7 and 9 year old to the 3 tiers (which only one in the group could handle all 3 tiers) and 2 huge zip lines for the rest of the family! Reserved tickets online. Saw that it said those 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult, which was not a problem, I was taking them. Got to the business and discovered that an adult doesn't just need to accompany them, but must go on the course with them. That wasn't an option, as I was in a cast. Really enjoyed our afternoon at Monkey Business. We tried to go on a Tuesday afternoon .. but when we arrived they were already booked up for the day (we didn't know about the weather so we hadn't booked in advance due to their no refund policy except in the event of thunderstorms). We reserved for the following day at 230pm and luckily the weather cleared up just in time. The process was super easy - we paid in advance and did electronic waivers. At our reservation time they suites us up in our gear, we watched a quick video and were on our way. Our guides were Mason and Arizona and they were amazing. It was Arizonas first day (she said she has just passed her test before we arrived) - and Mason was more seasoned, but both were fabulous. My kids are 8, 8, and 10 and pretty good with these types of ropes courses. Mason and Arizona were the best guides and very helpful. I felt safe and comfortable with my kids the entire time. The kids planned to do the free fall - but chickened out - although the guides were SO patient the whole time (I was more frustrated with my kids indecision than the guides were). My boys were only y'all enough for Tier One so we did that one which took about an hour, and then my daughter went on to do Tier Two as well. Mason and Arizona were with her the whole time but allowed her to do everything on her own and she loved it. After bailing on the free fall, we all did the zipline upgrade as well. We've been on bigger zip lines in the past, but these were still fun and we had a great time. We also interacted with several other guides (Levi and Ian are two names I remember). They were all g rest. Friendly. Appropriate. Safety conscious. All wore masks and followed proper a COVID protocols. Kids can't stop talking about their experience - although they had to do dishes tonight because we bet they would chicken out on the free fall! Please tip your guides. This place is a joke. The zip line for children is right over the parking lot goes to the other end of the parking lot for 30.00. The whole park is over a parking lot between two major highways. Looks unsafe just because you zip over the cars that are in the parking lot. The climbing part is part parking lot and ground. Don't waste your money there are other places that are scenic zip lines in Deep Creek Lake. read more

My husband and I visited Deep Creek this weekend for our anniversary and we were looking for some fun! We decided to start our weekend off with some axe throwing Friday night. Brady and his staff were not only friendly but helpful as well! We discussed that we wanted to zip line and they easily convinced us to return the next day to check out the outside ropes course. We both fear heights and were nervous to say the least. Brady and staff were so encouraging, helpful, and made us feel safe at every obstacle they led us through!
