I was recommended to set up an appointment with Melissa by a friend and was super excited to get my hair done with her before my vacation. I get to my appointment and she tells me she can't do color because she had to go to her dad's appointment. I understand emergencies come about and there's nothing you can do but she could've, at the very least, saved me the 40 mins of driving (20 there and back) so I can work and reschedule with another salon. Melissa is on point. Been getting my haircut by her off and on for the past few years but moved out of the area. Just got a fresh cut recently and it reminded me of why I went to her in the first place. The atmosphere is eclectic and welcoming. I finally found the perfect place to get my hair done! Melissa is super nice, really laid back, open to your ideas, and most importantly... crazy talented! Booking was super easy with an appointment confirmation via text message after I dm'd her on Instagram. I came in with a clear idea of what I wanted and a couple reference photos, she completely knew what I was going for and I ended up liking it even more than the reference. She also showed me a product that helped my hair achieve the feel and texture I was going for and was able to buy it from her after my appointment. I have been getting my hair cut by Melissa for years now, seriously.... no one else is allowed to touch my hair. My hair comes out perfect every visit. Recently she started her own place, Monkey Business Barber Saloon!!!! So just because this place is new doesn't mean she is a novice by any means, very professional cuts every time. I couldn't have been more excited for the new place. Melissa's new place was decorated by her and has a very homey atmosphere like you just went over to her house to go and get a haircut, very chill. It is inside of a larger building with many other salons but once you go in the doors just make a right and go down the hallway, you'll see it on your right (trust me you can't miss it). Every time I go get my haircut now it just feels like I'm going to hang out with a friend I haven't seen in a while, very fun! I would highly recommend Melissa to anyone, my last visit I was also able to meet the other barber who is also at the same location and his name is William and is a very nice guy! I can't say enough good things about Melissa. I've been a client of hers for about three years. I was in a near panic when she left her previous employer and decided to go independent. I had't been in a long time and they wouldn't tell me where she went! She does a great job with my hair, which is a PITA Because I'm covered in cow-licks and it's thick. Theee best! Every 3 weeks or so I get my mop chopped and oooooooo man, let me tell you, the time inbetween is spent trying to grow my hair out so I can go back!
