First time trying an escape room and both me and my 13 year old little (Big Brother Big Sister program) loved it! I won't give any spoilers but we had a great time trying to solve the various mysteries and puzzles to (shocker) try and escape. We did the Claim the Throne quest and it's def pretty tough for two. I booked an appt online for two the day before. Cost was 20 dollars a person which is fairly reasonable. We received a courtesy call from the establishment 15 minutes before our start time due to their concern about traffic from the UTEP monster truck rally. Super thoughtful of them! Thankfully we were already pulling in. Upon arrival we met with hour host. I didn't catch her name but she was very sweet and friendly. She provided the basic rules and took our phones (placed in a lock box in our room with us). This was to prevent people from taking photos and ruining the surprises! You go in the room and a short video plays to lay out the story. The only negative was the audio quality was bad so it was hard to hear. From there you begin. Your host monitors you from another room and provides tips and hints if you need it. I won't say anything further so as to not ruin anything. But the puzzles are tough and make you think. We had a great time. I would def go back to try their other room. read more

Slightly spooky and creatively designed escape room. The Slaycation puzzle was incredibly detailed, and the clues were cleverly arranged. I have never been to an escape room where I've heard players screaming, so that was the most unique aspect of Monkey Mayhem--the added thrill! The only downside for me was that it wasn't as challenging as I had hoped, and apparently this was a level 9 difficulty (out of 10). We got out with 15 minutes to spare. Though we didn't make it on the leaderboard, we all felt that the clues were rather straightforward. The portions that we lost time were for silly things that we should have had the common sense to figure out...which is always frustrating in the end! Regardless, I would definitely recommend this place for first time escaperoomers. I will be coming back to try Quest for Throne (even though the difficulty level is lower) to see if we can get on the leaderboard! read more

I've only been to two different escape rooms and I must say that this experience was the best!! Thank you Lisa and you're awesome events which granted me this amazing time!! We experienced Slaycation which had a sorta scary and fun theme. There were a lot of physical graphics that made it stand out! They made it so fun to interact with other people! Finding out the clues definitely relies teamwork and we had a great team! I think everyone should experience this place and I can guarantee they will have fun. First time doing an escape room, and fortunately there was no one booked after us, so we got some "bonus time'" to finish the quest. Our group of 8 had a great time! We participated in staycation. The instructions were clear and help on clues were given to us only when we wanted them. The room had many hidden secrets, puzzles, sound effects and surprises to keep us entertained! Came to this escape room with 7 other people and we all had a blast! We did the slaycation and the person who explained the instructions to us was very friendly and helpful. The escape room itself was well planned and needed a bit more thought than just trying to open locks. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely back when their new, 3rd room opens up! I went to the second room called Slaycation. OMG did not disappoint this was so much fun. Thank God we had some smart people with us. I really loved the fact that not everything is a box with a lock. This was so much fun. Came here for a team building activity. We had a group of nine and none of us had done anything like this before. The owner was super nice. He explained the game and was very patient and in no hurry to get us out. He actually accommodated us by opening for our group since the day we went was not one of their regular hours of operation. Half of Our group was in town for work and only here for that night so him opening for us was awesome. My husband and I had never been to an escape room so we didn't know what to expect! This place is amazing! The room truly had us thinking we were in a different location and time. Everything from the walls to tiny touches was not only in-line with the theme of the room but very realistic. We loved it so much we had to go again and this time take family. We visited their other room (slaycation) which was just as amazing and totally didn't disappoint. It's all we could talk about that night and the next couple days after. Our family loved it too! My family and I have been to Escape Rooms before in Austin, but Monkey Mayhem far surpassed those experiences!! I loved the theme and the atmosphere. The owner who personally gave us instructions prior to entering was enthusiastic and you could tell his passion was genuine. The room was just perfect in its level of difficulty, not too easy, not too hard. This can often be a challenging balance for an Escape room. I love that there's a tv screen in the room that offers you hints if you're getting stuck on a clue. Our group of 8 made it out with a just a couple minutes to spare! I hear the owners plan to add additional rooms and to rotate the theme/clues every so often to keep the experience fresh and new so you'll want to keep coming back. I visited this escape room with my mom, sister, and boyfriend while in town for the holidays. It was all of our first time doing an escape room, so we were a bit nervous. The owner/employee there were so awesome making us feel comfortable! The room itself was decorated perfectly for the theme and the puzzles were varied and super fun.
