The staff is fantastic and friendly. The staff was masked up and the space was clean. The location is sleek but still cozy. They even turned the heat on for us to keep away that California cold. I had the Feminist and it is a clean go to of mine, but is a sneaky 9.4% ABV. The color and glass always win me over. Wish the parking was better around the Packing District area but the City Hall structure is a quick walk away and they offer free parking. read more

Manager behind the counter was very friendly and quality oriented. One pour had something in it that caught his eye as he was about to serve it but didn't look right so he poured out and started over. Impressed my friends and me. Beer was delicious. I'm glad that they brought Monkish to the OC from Torrance. With a few bar seats and a much bigger patio seating, Monkish seems like it can be packed quickly. Average at best. Very hyped up by LA peeps. I have given this multiple attempts. The beer and vibe don't do it for me. It seems to be very serious here and the vibe is a bit stuffy. Seems like most patrons don't really know beer. The bartenders don't seem to know a lot. Don't bother asking any questions. I prefer my beer fun and less serious and more delicious. Also sucks that they removed (destroyed?) the original bar top from Anaheim Brewing....it was beautiful. The current bar tops are more sterile. Won't be coming back. This hurts to write because I love the beer here. I've waited hours for their can releases in Torrance. I was so excited when they opened closer to me in Anaheim, Today, I stoped by with my gf for a quick beer. I originally was going to just get a 4 pack and go but how can you say no to their hazy's. Long story short, I ordered a beer and asked to get my 4 pack when I leave. The bartender had already liked it out of fridge and said they couldn't take it back to the fridge once it was sold. The king of New England style triple IPAs have finally arrived in the OC. While you are definitely paying a premium for their beer, it's worth it. They are honestly second to none and is one of my favorite breweries. It's nice not having to drive to torrance anymore. The only problem is that they're neighbors with the packing district, making the parking situation a pile of dump. Nice patio, excellent beer, and being kid friendly makes this place 5 stars. read more

One of my favorite things to do on weekends is try various breweries around the city. Each brewery offers its own "character " and Monkish brewery is a place I want to spend every weekend at. The beer garden is a great place to hang out and bring food in (they don't have a kitchen) but the Anaheim packing district is 45 seconds away from them, walking distance. We got various foods and hung out at the garden while sipping on some great beer and seltzer!! They are the only only brewery that had a seltzer as a smoothie. Beer tenders at monkish have always been a little bit less friendly to me and my cohorts than the other local brewery's, likley because of their very impressive prerequisites. However the beer is fantastic, even in the same styles they manage to get subtle nuances and differences always. Hop complexity is their strong suit for sure. Vanilla Foggier Window is a wild crazy amazing beer. The production areas are to die for. Polished, organized, clean as a whistle. read more

Love me some Monkish! But the amount it costs per beer in house is outrageously high! 10 bucks for 10-12 ounces is way too much! The place is empty every time I have gone and they have added a TV to bring in business but that didn't work. It's completely due to the high beer pour prices, you would have to be insane to watch a game at that cost! I wouldn't be surprised if this brewery closes down at some point. read more

Visited 1/14/23 Went down to Anaheim for an event at Angels Stadium and had a few hours prior to explore a few breweries. It was raining when we visited so the patio was closed which mean we had a to find a spot inside the small taproom. I think we timed it just right as we visited around lunchtime. We managed to snag a tall three top to enjoy a couple half pours each. We mainly stuck to the IPAs. The last time we went to a Monkish taproom was way back in the day when the taproom in Torrance first opened. It was so long ago they weren't even brewing IPAs at the time. Yes they still make the feminist, which I skipped because I wanted to try all the IPAs that sold out during the quarantine when they were doing beer shipping throughout California. Every one we tried was fantastic except their foggier window, which I should have avoided as I don't care for the Sauvin type of hops. Sometimes you just have to try something in the hopes your palate has changed. Everything we tried in the taproom was great. We got about a case and a half top savor until we could make a return visit to either this location or the OG location in Torrance. The beer tenders are awesome, informed and really easy to talk to, they are so friendly too. They have juice boxes for kiddos, but not much in the form of entertainment. Then again I always make sure to bring stuff for my little guy, and the other parents did the same. I cant wait to visit again., hopefully when it isn't raining, as the patio looked like an idyllic spot to post up when the weather is better. read more

So, the beer here was actually pretty great when we stopped in after work and they have a really nice outdoor space. However it was completely ruined when they started blasting hip-hop at 6:30 in the afternoon. Wanted another beer but couldn't deal with the music. read more

While the drinks and ambiance were fine, the person behind the register was extremely rude, We went in on a Friday night with a fairly large group. Everyone was excited to try it out. As we all placed our orders the person taking them seemed very annoyed at us the entire time. No one in our party was drunk or rude. From the moment we walked in, he just didn't seem to want us there. There wasn't many people there at the time, so you would think they would have been happy with our 16 person party. We just had one drink and left because it was so unwelcoming. Will not return to this location again. read more
