In previous years, the campground host would have never allowed such egregious behavior from site 29. My parents; who are in their 60s, may not ever camp again because of the patrons in site 29. I hope that you see that getting rid of the old host was a massive oversight and your campground has gone to hell.

There is ample room for tent camping on most sites too. Great for families, Couples, Gatherings, Pets are welcome on a leash. Some sites are prime with a lake view. We went without reservations on a Tuesday- there were 2 sites left when we arrived at 3pm( lucked out) we wound up in camp site 21- it's the first one on your left as you come inside. It was a great site; except.... very dusty as traffic puts out a lot of dust( in and out cars driving through) and it's on a hill slant. We stayed 4 days and we still managed to have a wonderful time despite those 2 minuses. Great Campground really! Trumbull Lake has great fishing and we will definitely try to go back!!

There is an incredibly rude and hostile staff member at the Bike/Raft rentals. She never gave us…read moreher name (because she never deigned to speak to us), so I'm going to give you a physical descriptor so others can avoid her, or if you've had a similar experience with this person, I encourage you to leave reviews as well so Yosemite can reconsider having her as a staff member: she appears to be a light-skinned Black woman in her 20s, with locs that are about shoulder-length. She wears dark sunglasses most of the time, and she is overweight, maybe about 5'4 or 5'5. We had several encounters with her both together and separately, and each time she was extremely rude to us for no apparent reason. In one instance, I approached the bike rental and waited politely for her to finish a conversation with a colleague. She never once acknowledged me except to yell at me "EMPLOYEES ONLY" at which point it was her colleague who talked to me and answered my question. She continued to ignore me, not making any eye contact and just standing there while her colleague spoke with me. It was awkward and off-putting, but I put it out of my mind. But then it became a sustained pattern of behavior. In one instance, my cousin went to the bike pick up area to ask bike rental questions. . The rude staff member in question rolled her eyes at my cousin and huffed and puffed under her breath, unprovoked, at my cousin's polite question. She again did not try to answer or talk with my cousin; instead another staff member tried to answer my cousin's questions but also said she wasn't usual bike staff so she didn't know. The rude staff member was there the whole time, and never tried to answer my cousin's questions, even though the rude staff member IS a member of bike rentals because I saw her manning the rentals EVERY DAY. We had a few more encounters with this staff member and she NEVER directly made eye contact with us or spoke to us directly. She would ignore us outright and the only time ever directly spoke to us was to yell at us for trying to ask questions (god forbid I ask a staff member a question). I did notice she answered questions politely and joked around with a group of White guests. I don't know if she has something against Asian folks but I honestly can't figure out why else she would have such an automatic and sustained hostile attitude towards us except for that. If she feels annoyed by doing her customer service job, if polite questions annoy her, she should reconsider her job and go be a ranger on an isolated station or something, and save the rest of us from having to interact with her grouchy ahh.

Fun for kids, but not for parents. Kiosk opens at 8am, but families are queued up before 7am to get…read morerafts or bikes. Only one person at cash register, so the line looks like it could take about an hour to pay. If you get a bike, only one person there too, so you wait another 30 minutes or so to get a bike. If you raft, you need to go 30 minutes early for safety briefing that lasts maybe 5 minutes. They tell you to stop and enjoy the beaches, but get to the raft shuttle back in two hours. We got in the water around 12:05pm and finished around 1:49pm. Then, no shuttle came to take us back until around 3:17pm. That was almost 90 minutes waiting around with kids and no water. Better bring sneakers with you and be prepared to walk back 2.5 to 3 miles to Curry Village. Don't believe Aramark if they say you can also take the free shuttle. The families left stranded by the raft shuttle waited 90 minutes for those too. Most of those were so full, they only took two of the 30 people waiting at the four mile stop, or drove past without stopping. The shuttle driver didn't have a phone or radio. Customer service from the contact us page was no help. They called back after 30 minutes, then put me on hold for another 15 minutes. The manager Skye wouldn't talk to the families who were left stranded. She sent four other people (two at the shuttle area and two in Curry Village) to talk to us, but not help us. They wrote down her email address and told us to email her.

We checked out the Discovery Center with the kids first, then headed down to the lake. It's such a cool place to see in person. The lake is super salty, so you can actually float, which my husband and the kids thought was so much fun! I wasn't brave enough to get in One thing to know before you go, there are tons of tiny brine shrimp in the water, so don't be surprised! They're harmless, just part of the lake's ecosystem but when they got out there were tons in their pockets The tufa towers are really unique and make the whole place feel unlike anywhere else. It's definitely worth walking around and taking in the views and beautiful for photos. If you're driving through the area or anywhere nearby, I'd definitely recommend making a stop. It's a really neat place to see, especially if you've never been before!

I…read morehave a personal rule: I only count a national park as "visited" if I actually spend time there, hike or walk through it, and truly experience it. While Mono Lake is not a national park, it became one of the most memorable stops of our journey. On our way from Lassen Volcanic National Park to Death Valley, we made a stop at Mono Lake, which happened to be right at the doorstep of Yosemite National Park. It was the perfect opportunity to explore this incredible area, and we were also able to spend a few hours visiting Yosemite along the way. Wow. Mono Lake was a place unlike anywhere else we had visited. The first impression is simple: it looks like another planet. Mono Lake is a very unique landscape, with its ancient waters and strange limestone formations called tufa towers rising from the shoreline. These formations look almost like sculptures created by nature, and walking among them feels like stepping into a different world. The combination of the lake, the white tufa towers, the mountains in the background, and the changing light creates an almost surreal experience. For me, this visit had an extra special meaning. My favorite album of all time is Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, and Mono Lake appears on the inside cover of the album. Seeing this place in person was a wonderful and unexpected gift. It felt like visiting a landscape that had been part of my imagination for decades. We spent time walking around the lake, taking in the silence, the unusual scenery, and the incredible contrast between the desert-like surroundings and the dramatic Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance. Mono Lake may not be a national park, but it absolutely deserves a stop. It is strange, beautiful, peaceful, and unforgettable. Sometimes the places that stay with you the longest are not necessarily the biggest or the most famous, but the ones that make you stop and say, "Wow, I have never seen anything like this before."

When I first visited this lake many years ago, the lake was a lot bigger than now . We came around 5:30'pm amd the sun was setting . We saw the orange cloud in different shade and golden sun beam was reflected on the lake and he cloud at the same time . It was magical ! I am sad today to find out most of the lake water was re directed to Los Angeles area for other uses . The lake has shrink and the water becomes super salty . That affects the tiny shrimps that live inside the lake , the algae and the seabirds that eats the creatures that live in the water . I hope the situation would improve soon . We create a new problem to solve the existing problem.

It starts on the drive in. The panoramic views of the valley are breathtaking and the mountains so impressive that their scale is felt on first sight. That feeling only grows as you get closer until they surround and you realize how truly massive they are. The lakes are equally beautiful and breathtaking. Clear and cold water flows from the mountain into the two lakes. The local conservation organizations make sure this area stays clean and filled with fish, making this a fantastic angling destination. We enjoyed the shores of Upper Twin Lakes this Memorial Day weekend and found plenty of places to set up for the afternoon. Parking was a little tricky, so just prepare for that and a walk from the car with your things to ensure a fantastic time. The water in May was quite cold and shallow a ways out, so waders are recommended for anyone who wants to fish from shore, though there were many who were successful without them. All in all, this is a rad area to explore with lots of camping options around. I'm looking forward to another visit soon.

Yosemite was breathtakingly beautiful! Recent visit with my family was a nice time to unplug, get…read moreaway and spend some quality time together. We had a blast hanging all over the park a doing a few easier hikes since we had our little one with us. It was pretty hot for the kids, but we're more conditioned with the heat. We'll have to come back and hike without our kids. We were able to cool by the river and get lunch in Curry village. We did a bit of shopping there before heading back out to the South gate of Yosemite. I'm am looking forward to planning a camping trip with some family or lodging in the park for the upcoming year when the falls are fuller. Thank you Yosemite for the good memories.

You can enter the park without a reservation before 5 am or after 4 pm. Reservations are required at any time in between. The YNP South Side is amazing! Breath breathtaking views, beautiful waterfalls (Vernal & Nevada Falls), and much to explore. It takes about 45mins-1hr to get from the South Entrance to Yosemite Valley. We stayed about 25 minutes from the South Side Entrance and arrived at YNP around 4:30 am. We did not have to pay entrance fees and could experience the beautiful sunrise. If you can do that, please don't hesitate; it's so worth it. Plus, if you start early, you avoid the crowds and see more of YNP!

A 5 star worthy hike! To get to the trailhead, drive all the way to end of Lundy Lake. There,…read moreyou'll see a small dirt road. Take that all the way to the parking lot at the end. The actual beginning of the trailhead begins just up from the outhouse. After a short distance, you'll come to a fork. You can go straight (which I recommend) and after a 30 second walk you'll reach what I dubbed as, "Lundy Pond". You'll get a commanding 360 view from the beach. Hard to beat. When you're finished taking in the view, head back to the fork and take the main trail that leads to Lundy Canyon. This isn't a difficult hike as some would have you believe. As long as you're in decent shape and have just a bit of hiking experience, you'll do fine. I've seen everyone from small children to elderly folks on this trail. Be sure to take this trail all the way to the Cascades. It was simply gorgeous and worth the extra effort. All told, I did about 6 miles round trip. Highly recommended.

The road starts off paved and becomes dirt. Some parts look intimidating but it's very do-able in a 2WD sedan as long as it hasn't had heavy rains or snow. I have a 2WD SUV and made it just fine....just drive slow as there are rocks and dips. The fall colors are amazing here!
