I LOVE THIS PLACE! I live in the neighborhood and this place is my to-go spot. It's located on the one of the prettiest streets of Vinohrady, Praha 2. The decor is super trendy and beautiful. Unlike other Prague coffee shops, someone will greet you right when you walk in. They have a huge couch downstairs and a little garden outside. The last time I was here, a blind man was playing the piano. It was so amazing! Unfortunately, they don't have an english menu but the waitress helped us translate. I ordered a Cafe Latte and a chicken sandwich. My Cafe latte was great! but I'm not a big fan of blue cheese and this sandwich had a ton of blue cheese. Only if they had an english menu, I would've known. Overall, this place is wonderful! I love coming out here even for a glass of wine and love feeling fancy while listening the piano. ;)

Unbelievable delicious pancakes. I totally recommend Monolok Cafe' for anyone who is breakfast lover!!

Unbelievable delicious pancakes. I totally recommend Monolok Cafe' to anyone who is breakfast lover! Excellent customer service as well.

Lovely coffee place - one of many at Vinohrady! I loved the interior - make sure to check out downstairs as well - they have more seats there. And they have a little garden with seating as well. The service is nice and I had their ice teda which was really good! This place is worth going to! And it is great for working on your laptop - very calm :-)

In the four days that I was in Prague, I went here twice. I loved Monolok so much! First of all, the space is lovely. It's very full of light and I love the simple silver decor. The breakfast is, like the decor, simple and delicious. I tried the creamy scrambled eggs with chives and a croissant on my first visit. The serving was plenty and the eggs were perfectly fluffy, albeit a little soggy from the cream at the bottom. On my second visit, I got the pancakes with buckthorn berries. They were perfect...so fluffy and the buckthorn flavor was awesome. I also loved the bacon and the cream with them. My friend tried the cheddar omelette and she really enjoyed it as well. They have good coffee drinks, too. I thought the cappuccino was perfect!

bread was dry and cold. plating was minimalistic. food was nothing to call home about! pricing was higher than expected for praha.

I was so disappointed with this cafe. Prices were higher than what you expect to pay in praha. Each dish was not decorated tastefully. Service was so-so. Bread was cold and very bland. And the music was top 40 american music, very weird for a cafe in the Vinohrady district. I would go elsewhere.

Lovely place! The cafe has a very open and light ambience, full of sunshine and the quiet murmur of music. The staff was friendly and service was reasonably quick. I ordered a cafe latte and the English breakfast, both of which were delicious. At first I didn't think the breakfast would be enough food, but I left feeling stuffed. There's an English menu, and the staff also speaks English. All in all, a perfect place for travellers to comfortably start to dip into the Czech scene.

Our first breakfast in Prague and it was amazing! I usually don't eat greens in the morning but the eggs paired with mixed greens and croissant was absolutely delicious! The eggs were creamy and perfectly done. The patio in the back was great on a sunny day.

Sunday morning. Hungry. Need a new place to meet. Monolok it is. And what a surprise! A hint of Greek chic outside, Danish simplicity inside - wood, leather - a touch of New York post modernism carved with trails of silver meandering happily on the walls, with a splash of Parisian panache from fine young ladies, all combine to provide a novel, laid back, cultured and happy experience. And the breakfast, prosecco and coffee? That's the secret you better try for yourself!

Cozy cafe with a great menu. So happy to have a turmeric latte in Prague!!! I got portobello mushroom and truffle omelette so good! Nice to sit down and spend time here

Nice place for breakfast and coffee, though the place did have a decent looking burger on the menu. Coffee was great.

One of the best espresso in Prague, tasty cakes (carrot!) and very friendly staff.

Want a good flat white? Sorted.

There is plenty of seating and all the pastries are displayed beautifully. The waitress allowed me to sit outside and provided me with some menus. The dinner menu had plenty of drink options and a couple food options. I decided to opt for a cold brew coffee and the burrata with a roasted bell pepper and nut spread. The food came out after about 7 minutes. The bread looked beautiful while maintaining a soft inside and crisp outside. The spread with burrata was also a pleasant sight with glowing piece of cheese contrasted by autumn colors including the pomegranate, balsamic caviar, and pepper spread. The food tasted delicious with the creamy burrata contrasted by the sweet and smoky pepper spread. Such a pleasant cafe located in Prague 7. At the time of writing this, there was some construction being done outside so seating inside may be your best bet. That said, we had a gorgeous yet really disappointing pancake order here that just wasn't acceptable at all. The pancakes were thick, premade and tasted more like crumpets topped with fruit than pancakes, but what was inexcusable was that the pancakes themselves came out cold and hard. How does that even happen? On the other side of things, the expresso drinks were adequate, the egg dishes were enjoyable, the orange juice was fresh squeezed and the brown bread and butter that comes out (complementary) with breakfast is wonderful. If you do opt to come here, head to egg dishes, their bread and expresso, and away from their not good pancakes.) (Wish they would discontinue or replace the pancakes here. These hard, heavy, cold pancakes bring their morning meal average down a level, considering the other dishes here are a-okay.)
