One bad point: corporate recently routed all customer calls to out-of-the-country customer service reps and they overbook, overpromise, and do NOT know the store's policies. I called yesterday to schedule an appointment to swap my winter wheels/tires for my summer set. The scheduling was clearly being done by a third-party service overseas. No big deal...the person I spoke to was knowledgable enough on the subject, and easier to understand than many foreign customer service reps. I was specifically asked if I would be dropping off my car or waiting while the work was performed. I said waiting, because it should be a quick job. I arrived a few minutes early today only to be told by an employee (who I think was the manager on duty) that they were only taking drop-offs because the wait would be at least 2.5 hours. I thought he misunderstood, so I clarified that I had an appointment, to which he rudely replied 'so do a lot of other people', and something about being short staffed. He also blamed the "A-rab's" (his pronunciation) that work at the call center for the scheduling problem. Throughout the whole interaction he never apologized and was downright rude to me, as if I was the unreasonable one for expecting to have my service done at the appointed time. I should also mention that I received no less than three text reminders about what time my appointment was, but no effort was made to inform me that it couldn't be honored. I was told I could bring my car back at 2:30, which I initially agreed to, but then re-thought. Called up another local shop that got me in right away and charged less than the last time I had this service at Monro. Will never be going to Monro again! read more

I scheduled online and received a same day appointment. I arrived and the front desk was talking with a customer and going over a few different options to repair that persons car, which I thought was legit that they didn't just force the most expensive option on the customer. I was only waiting for maybe 60 seconds before a gentleman came and checked me in. I explained my situation with having a nail in my tire but not wanting to purchase 4 tires since it's an AWD. Gentleman went over all the things that they'll look for to just do a tire repair and not have to replace. He also said they'd check to make sure they could just do the 1 tire before doing anything if the tire couldn't just be repaired. Perfect! Ends up being the gentleman that helped me wasn't even working that day and was just being nice and helped me sooner so I didn't have to wait in line. A+ customer service. They ended up being able to repair my tire so no replacements. I think this shows a legit community business that didn't try to push the most expensive route and instead just did the right thing. After blowing out a tire as a result of one of Milwaukee's infamous pot holes in the Fifth Ward, I needed a specialized tire for my CLS 550 4Matic. Mercedes dealerships are notorious robber barons when purchasing tires. Monro in South Milwaukee replaced the tire at a very reasonable price and with lighting speed. I was back on the road in two days. I was disappointed to discover Monro threw the spare in the trunk without placing it in the well. That was lazy. Thus, Monro loses a star. read more

Flat repair. I brought my car to the w. Bluemound location. Before the tire was looked at, I was given an estimate for 4 tires. I declined the estimate because new tires are needed. Another gentleman tired a second time to sell a set of tires. I was told Monro tires are legally bound to only sell a set 4. Due to all tires must match for traction purposes. I laughed. After waiting for the flat to be repaired I was informed they were unable to repair it. No new tires no repairs. Not a pleasant experience. A waste of two of the day. Just learn how to honest with your customers. read more

I actually did make an appointment by phone on a Saturday. I had some kind of plastic hanging down at the front of my car and needed it looked at. The mechanics at this Monro facility inspected the issue, trimmed the plastic material so it would no longer be hitting the road, and named the parts that I could look into having permanently replaced at a body shop. They easily could have charged me $25 or $50, but they completed this brief service at no cost! I originally chose this Monro location because it had the highest Yelp rating of the other local shops, and bow I know why. Thanks for the needed help and fast service! read more

At 11am, I found I had a metal shard in the outer edge of my tire. I called Monro and they found room for me at noon. I got there, the staff was very friendly, and they quickly determined the tire would need to be replaced. They noticed they did not have the tire in stock that I needed, but they went the extra mile and went to pick it up from the store since it was past delivery time. By 1pm, they picked up the new tire, installed it, and checked my other tires for damage. They worked quickly and effectively. I'd recommend anyone go there for good service at very reasonable prices. read more

The battery on my car died in sub-zero temperatures on the way home from work which might be one of the most stressful predicaments one can find themselves in. I called Aaron at the Monro location on Port Washington Road and he fit me in for a replacement that day. But I was clear on the other side of town and the traffic and timing of the tow truck held things up and when I called him back and told him I wouldn't be able to make it to his location before they closed, he called a Monro location closer to where I was and arranged for Ben at that location to help me. We arrived at the location less than an hour before they closed but Ben assured me he would get the work done before he left for the night. And sure enough, he was a man of his word. The work was completed before he clsoed up for the night and my car was up and running like new. These guys are absolutely fantastic. Aaron and Ben are both worth their weight in gold. I have been experiencing squeaky brakes sporadically. The assistant manager, Derrick, was very helpful and provided polite service. Willie seems to be knowledgeable and explained the problem throughly. They estimated the wait time to be an hour. It was completed within that time frame. Great place to have the official emissions test if you make an appointment first. Other wise the wait may only be 15-30 minutes. I made one and drove across the street to shop and came back and within two minutes the car passed inspection. It's also a full service shop so park in the three spaces in front and don't block the driveway or the garage doors. Very nice staff if you're nice and friendly too. read more

I only gave it one star because I had no choice. I was totally taken advantage of from the manager Ben from this store. I had issues with my breaks making noise. I had told him that I recently had new rotors and pads put on by someone else. He told me my NEW rotors were warped. So he put new ones on. Took it home and the vehicle made the same noise. So I called Ben back. He said to bring it back the next day and we will work something out. I dropped it back off the next day. Without even calling and getting my approval, he had replaced my brake pads with expensive "premium" pads. Went to pick up my car. I was furious. Not only did he replace parts without my approval, he would not work out anything for replacing the rotors the day before because he said this was a different noise now. Which is total crap!!!. Took my vehicle home and sure enough it was still making the SAME noise as day one. I called Ben back and he said he would refund me the money. That never happened. I took it to another place and they told me it was the calipers. They replaced the calipers and it is going on 2 weeks and my vehicle still rides perfectly. Another kicker is the mechanic at the new place said the rotors that Monro put on were total junk!! I dealt with the corporate office at Monro and they said they would give me a little bit of my money back. ( still waiting for the refund and the email confirming this) They gave me some lame excuse about not returning the rest of the money. Even though Ben told me I would get a full refund. But they could give me a certificate for future service. Are you kidding me????? After all this do they think I would actually go back there!!! What a slap in the face. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! If it is more then an oil change or replacing a tire they have no idea what they are doing. read more

if i could put zero stars, i would. this is an update to my prior review of munro on packard ave. in cudahy. today as i came home from running errands i heard a metallic clanking sound from the passenger front tire area. i immediately stopped and pulled the wheel cover to discover that there was a loose lugnut rolling around between the wheel and the cover. this means to me that this lugnut was not torqued to spec - probably just hand tightened and then forgotten. incredible! do NOT use this garage if you value your car or your safety. read more

I had a great experience with Monro! I went to another shop the previous day due to my car shaking on the road and I thought I might need an alignment. I took it in and they quoted me about $1200 worth or work and also stated that I needed new tires. I talked to a few people I know in the car business and they said it just didn't add up. I live in Cudahy and just happened to drive by Monro's on my way home and thought I would look them up and give them a shot. They got me in as soon as I called (on a Saturday morning), found the tires that fit my car and stated there was even a special going on where I could buy 3 and get 1 free. Within a few hours they called for me to pick my car up and it drives like it's brand new again! Don, the store manager, was very polite and made the experience a breeze. They saved me a ton of money on something that my car didn't need in the first place. I will definitely recommend them and they will get my business from now on! read more
