Excellent service at a fair price. I have been taking my 2 cars there for several years and have never been disappointed. Ny last trip they replaced my front rotors which I thought would be expensive. When I got the bill I found they covered the rotors and installation under warranty without even talking to me about it. On another occasion I had a loud rattle only when the car was cold and they found the problem that only required bending a metal bracket near the tailpipe. Very inexpensive fix and the noise has never come back. I am a 100% satisfied customer. read more

I made an appointment weeks ago to get new tires. The night before, I called to tell them I'm on the way to pick up the loaner. The guy there flat out tells me, "we don't have any loaners" and doesn't offer a solution. I question him & he says the manager will call. Ten minutes later... The manager calls and immediately blames me - "yeah... you have to call before 5:30 to ensure a loaner." No remedy is offered. No one ever told me this. I tell him that and simply sound annoyed. He tells me to stop yelling at him and wouldn't let me speak (?). I will get my tires somewhere else from now on. read more

I can't say enough good things about Wittlin's. We've gone several times for car repairs and have always been happy with the service. Because of their name and quality, they do get booked out for services so make sure to make an appointment in advance if you need routine maintenance done. TL;DR - 5 stars for catching a problem before it became more expensive; -2 stars for not fixing the problem I came in with and gaslighting me about it. My car's brakes were starting to squeal, so I took it in to Wittlin's to get them checked/replaced. They ended up diagnosing a different problem that needed to be fixed, and were able to do it quickly and save me a couple bucks. While giving them the okay to fix the new problem, I asked them to give me a call with an estimate on the brakes. The next day, they did not call until my car was done. I expressed my surprise that it was done, because they never called to discuss the brakes. He said "Your brakes are fine." When I asked if they put it up on the rack to actually look at the brakes, he responded again with "I didn't hear the brakes squealing when we took it for a test drive. They're fine." Just a few days later, the brakes began squealing again, so I made an appointment with another local shop. Sure enough, one of my brake pads was stuck and needed to be replaced. read more

Very limited products for a gas station or convenience store. Feels a bit dirty inside. Prices are marked up significantly as well. Your'd be better going to the Target across the street. As for tire needs, the prices seem reasonable and there is a decent waiting space, though this isn't something I've actually purchased through them. read more

Have a 2001 Ford F-350 SuperCab with the V-10 with over 200k miles. Exhaust manifold bolts were breaking off due to rust, so I tried to fix it myself and ended up screwing up the head on one side. Got quotes on fixing the head and it was only about 30% less than just replacing the whole engine with a rebuilt motor, so decided to go that route. Hard to find a place near Cedarburg that would do it on a truck that big because normally they lift the body off the frame to replace an engine. Wittlin's gave a quote that was hundreds cheaper than ETE or the dealer and I got to choose between aftermarket or OEM. Spent a little more for OEM. They even put on the headers I'd already bought to start the project. I've put about 4,000 miles on it so far and it runs great. No drips, no misses, everything's buttoned up. They replaced 3 ball joints, did a 4 wheel alignment and an oil change and my car is running smooth and quiet now. We brought in two high-mileage vehicles this summer for safety checks before sending the college-age sons off with them, out-of-state for the semester. They are the ONLY auto service center we will ever use. We have lived in Menomonee Falls over 20 years. The 2 times we went elsewhere due to Whitlin's busy schedule and car work that had to be done sooner, we got screwed. Local Monroe Tire shop was supposed to put on new tires, shock and struts. Unknown to us, we got USED tires, 2 with leaks that ran out of air, all last winter long, every 4-5 days. Monroe wanted to charge us $300 to fix the tires and dragged their feet. Whittlin's got us new tires and gave us a small break on the price, eventhough it was not their mistake to fix. Their staff are friendly, knowledgeable and they will NOT charge you for work you do not need. Cannot recommend them highly enough read more

I've gone there 3 times with general questions and asking if I needed service once for breaks, once for transmission questions and once to see if I needed new anti freeze before storing a car for the winter. Each time they were HONEST. Checked out my car and NO CHARGE, no recommended service yet. They could have charged me hundreds of dollars and I wouldn't have known otherwise. The tire I recently had Wittlin's replace leaked ever since I had Wittlin's replace it so I brought it to a different tire installer. That place said it leaked because Wittlin's had improperly installed the tire on the rim and the tire rim was not completely seated. read more

I had both front calipers replaced and after 8500 miles one of them started sticking. I called them because it's still under warranty and they told me they can't get my car in for 6 days. It's a Warranty situation! Obviously I can't drive the car. So when I bought it in six days later they replaced the caliper and then put the Old pads back on. The defective caliper ruined a new break rotor and pads. They wouldn't replace my new brake rotor and they even put the old worn pads back on. Seriously! How could you put break pads on when one side is worn down from a sticking caliper? There not worn evenly. They told me the rotor is fine. But didn't even put a new set of pads on. Never even asked me. My family has been going to Wittlin's for 30 years. I will Never go back! Very Disappointed! They did not tell me up front about any charge to look at my vehicle, then held my keys hostage and charged me nearly $100! the services appear extremely overpriced and it seems like they probably make up things that are wrong or exaggerate the problems to make more money. Took vehicle in for an Idler Pulley that was making noise. Called and said alternator needed to be replaced as well. No problem. Recieved vehicle back with Check Engine light on in which they said it was on when they started it up before they worked on it. After checking multiple Dodge websites I have found out this is commen when the battery is disconnected. Usually goes away after driving. Which it did. Funny how this could have been on before the alternator was replaced. read more

That one star is a gift. I went in the station with a screw in my tire. They made an attempt to sell me four tires when I didn't need them. Was it because I was a woman? Maybe because I was a blonde. Anyway, I said I would limp home with my spare and go to my honest service center. Not too happy they put on my spare. Get this, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and say they accidentally didn't check the air level in the spare. It was almost flat. I didn't notice this till I got home, so I returned to station. I asked two people working there if they could please help me get air in my tire. I just had hand surgery. The bandage us quite obvious. They both told me the air was on the wall by the service door. How the heck was I going to put air in my tire! Yeah they don't try to upsell??? Had my 2000 Ford Ranger in for an oil change and tire rotation. They wanted to change the fluid in my rear axle because they said it was dirty. Consulted owners manual which stated that you don't have to change the fluid at all, only add if it is low. Yeah no upsell attempt there... read more

My experience was not a favorable one. I took my truck into their shop to have have the front wheel bearing replaced. I knew exactly what was wrong with it by the symptoms and told them EXACTLY what I wanted them to do. They told me it would be $325 to do this. I also told them I KNOW that I need front brakes and rotors but I can't afford to do them at this time. Later on in the day they called me at home and told me everything that was wrong with it which came to $2900. Again, I told them to just do the front wheel bearing but now he tells me that it's $500. I asked him why the price has gone up from $325 to $500? He told me that it was for the diagnostics.... Diagnostics? When I told them what the problem was and exactly what I wanted them to do? Anyways, I paid it but will never go there again. When I went to pick my truck up the cleark was less than friendly. She was more interested in carrying on a conversation with her girlfriend than a paying customer. read more

I cannot recommend Wittlin's more sincerely. I first brought my car there a couple years ago after reading many positive reviews. Well they haven't disappointed. For instance, just today I was on my way home from work and suddenly heard my exhaust become extremely loud. Being a Friday and knowing they would be closing soon, I called them up and told them of my problem and that I would be limping the car in soon.They told me to come on in and they would look at it right away. As soon as I got there, the owner himself came out and listened to the car and had his guys put it up on the lift, despite a line of other cars on their schedule and it being near their closing time ON A FRIDAY. Within minutes they found the issue - a rusted out exhaust clamp - and called the local dealership and located the $30 part. The owner himself jumped in the car right away and ran over and got the part so they could put it on first thing in the morning. This kind of service has been given to me time and again by Wittlin's. They have been in business for 110 years because they take care of their customers, are honest, fast and fairly priced. I'm a car guy, so I understand that even the best shops get a bad rap and are often viewed with distrust for no reason, but believe me, take your car to Wittlin's and you will never have that uneasy "are they trying to rip me off" feeling. This is that rare kind of shop that you hope to find that will clearly lay out all the options and make every effort to get you back on the road for the lowest cost and as quick as they can. I recently needed my front brakes replaced. After calling around to a few places I had thought to just drive the 5 hours back to my old place because the repair plus the cost of the drive to and from would have been cheaper. My co-worker recommended Wittlin's saying he had had some good service there. I got my brakes, tires rotated, and an oil change for about $100 less then just brakes were going to be anywhere else. Which is great on my tight budget, I can buy groceries this week. Yay! My reasoning for only 3 stars is because when we went out to do a drive to see if it was the brakes, which I really did already know it was, he was trying to convince me that my brakes weren't making the sound, it was the sound of the tires pressing down on the road. Not super impressed by that statement as I have never, in almost 10 years of owning the car, had new tires making that sound. When they called to tell me what was wrong they then tried to tell me that it wasn't my tires that were the problem, it was my brakes! Other then that, the service was good, they got it done quickly and for what I think is actually reasonable pricing unlike all the other places. And even with the little hiccup about diagnosing the problem I'll go back there if something else comes up. read more
