Every time I go here I am more and more impressed with the staff. I actually live literally about 50 feet away from another service center in town, and would no longer even consider taking my cars there. While I've heard people complain about Girard's prices (they are a little pricier than some of the smaller places in town), this is certainly a case where you get what you pay for. They are always well staffed and are quick to expedite you (particularly with oil changes). They make you feel like your business is important to them, and that's important to me. I wouldn't recommend Girards to repair your auto A/C, they did a compression test and couldn't find the leak, they didn't check all the components for the A/C system. Cost me $300. Went on U-tube and found the most common failure location, the condenser! read more

Steering wheel fluid.was told my steering would fail and given estimate of around $1000. Meanwhile my car needed to be towed for repairs to another shop and I asked them to check steering wheel and they told me my steering fluid fine only a loose bolt . Gerards another time told me my battery was so bad they couldn't recharge it. I knew the battery was only 3 months old and still under warranty from AAA so to get replacement battery ame to Gerards to test battery and tested saying it was fine which cost me 40 dollars To come. Gerards tried to explain this Away. I them for several years despite friends warnings because they were very close but there warnings were correct. They don't have real mechanics working there went in with two simple problems had to pay them almost 800 they couldn't fix either.Offered me free labor on one of the problems with part mark up of at least 100 percent.I decided to just cut my losses and fix it myself.Save your money don't go there. read more

Fantastic place for an oil change. I've had numerous cars of mine in their shop for oil changes over the year. Fast service, they aren't pushy, and I've never seen them try and cheat someone while I sat there waiting for my car to be finished browsing their free Wi-Fi. Can't speak to the quality of their other services but they beat having your oil change done by the dealer! read more

I've used Girard's on multiple occasions which in and of itself speaks for their overall care and attention to my vehicles. I've found it easy to schedule appointments and they've always completed the work when they said they would. On the rare occasion when I decide to wait in their customer area, it provides me with hot coffee, multiple charging stations and Wi-Fi. read more

Very bad experience. Wish I could use negative stars. Called to describe the issue and was told it would take a while to diagnose and scheduled an appointment for a month out - they had nothing earlier. Car wouldn't start on a Friday night, so I left it at the shop to avoid having to tow it later. Made a call the next morning when they opened and talked to Swee about the car and the upcoming appointment. No problem about having the vehicle there and to just pull it in a different spot when I could & leave the key - no further instruction, no rush to move it and no mention of any issue with the appointment. The car ended up being parked over the weekend (Friday night to Sunday afternoon) because I was able to start it and drove it home. When I arrived for my appointment time, I was informed that an appointment was never really made. That they would have to squeeze me in and weren't willing to look at my car. Very rude. Jeff also threatened that they should have towed the car when I left it because there was no note left in it. Glad I found out how they really are before they touched it. I really like this auto shop. I have taken two different cars there. Both times they found out what was wrong and fixed it the first time. They also offered me a ride home when I dropped off my car on a cold day so I didn't have to walk. They are not the cheapest shop. But, they do good work and I trust them with my car. read more

Very friendly and trustworthy staff. I had gone to Midas I while back (like an idiot) and had my brakes done. At that point they told me I needed my calipers replaced and quoted me $1300. Turns out that Midas are crooks and after going to two places (including Girards) my calipers didn't need to be done. Girard's diagnosed the real problem and fixed for 1/8 the cost. I went here based on other good reviews. However my experience was not so great. I had front brake work done and was seriously overcharged. This was after I told them I didn't need the top of the line replacement parts and it was still ridiculously priced. It seemed like it was a hassle for them to obtain the less expensive parts. I felt compelled to write a review because I recently had my rear brakes done somewhere else for less than 1/2 the price of what I paid at Girard's...without the hassle and the 'top of the line' sales pitch. read more

Always available (have called numerous times morning of to bring our car in), prices in line with what they should be, kind people, rewards program, knowledgeable and never make us feel pressured or bad for being late on an oil change or deciding not to make a suggested repair. I have been taking my car to Girard's since I bought it new ten years ago. This is the first place I feel I can trust not to rip me off with unnecessary repairs. I recently took advantage of a free 36 point safety inspection that they emailed to me for my birthday. The only thing I was told I needed for my ten year old car was a new battery, which I knew was very old. A lot of places would offer a free inspection so they can find something expensive to repair. My son's car needed a alternator replacement right before Christmas so we got it into Girard's. They charged us over 600 to replace the alternator and put a new end on the wire that the power runs out. It lasted 4 days and battery light was back on. So we took it back in and they said the wire harness would have to be replace as their repair did not hold up so 300 plus more bucks and we got the car back again. 4 days later the car dies again no output from the alternator. I will not be taking anything to this bunch again. The car quest alternator they use is junk so I am going to replace it myself with a good brand part. I can see one second chance but to fail so fast again show real lack of doing quality work. I should have done the repair myself in the first place and save my 1000 dollar lesson learned but it was very cold and the holidays were coming. I hope I can save someone else the hassle. If you cannot do things on your car yourself you have to trust the shop you use. I gave these guys a chance and they lost my trust for good. Update: I took out the alternator they installed 2 weeks ago and had it tested at my local NAPA it was dead. I put in a new alternator and the car is running and charging fine, just what I paid Girard to do in the first place. The lifetime warranty alternator at NAPA was 160 dollars. read more
