Needed a tire balanced and changed and I had the tire just needed it mounted and balanced and also needed a oil change. I called Monro Muffler and they said to come right down as they had time to take care of it then. I got there and they took my car in right away, Just as they said on the phone. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The staff where very friendly and helpful and it was great that they had time to do it immediately. Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers is a chain business with locations in dozens of states. This particular location is in Ross Township. It offers services for auto tires, maintenance, and repairs. This morning my husband called this business and made an appointment for his oil to be changed this afternoon. He took hours off work to be at the appointment. Unfortunately, when he arrived, an employee told him that they do not know if they have the filter or oil, so they turned him away. They said that they could not call him beforehand because they have had problems with their phones. This appointment was a waste of my husband's time and work PTO. He said that he has been a customer here before, but he will not be anymore. He made an appointment to go elsewhere. read more

I brought my vehicle to Monro for a tune-up, splash guard repair, and other maintenance. During the inspection, the team identified additional issues that they recommended repairing. I agreed to all of the work, ultimately spending $3,165. The experience quickly became frustrating. After I was told my vehicle would be ready, I Ubered back to the shop to pick it up. Upon arrival, I was informed that the final spark plug replacement had uncovered additional problems involving oil contamination and another required part that had not been anticipated. As a result, I could not take my car home and had to arrange additional transportation. The next morning, I noticed my splash guard was dragging on the road again--the same issue I had originally brought the car in for. I called and was told to bring it back so they could secure it with zip ties. While discussing the repairs with Jordan, I mentioned that I expected my tire pressure issue to have been addressed during the tune-up. He assured me that all four tires had been checked and were properly inflated. When I asked why my tire pressure warning light was still on, he told me the likely cause was a dead TPMS sensor battery and explained that the sensors would need to be replaced. Minutes later, another employee pulled my vehicle out and noticed the tire pressure warning light. He checked the tires and discovered that the right front tire was actually "super low" on air. This directly contradicted what I had just been told. After he inflated the tire, the warning light disappeared shortly after I left the shop. So which was it? A dead sensor battery or a tire that simply needed air? This inconsistency left me questioning the accuracy of the inspection and the quality of the work performed. After spending over $3,000, I should not be leaving with less confidence in my vehicle than when I arrived. Additionally, I was expecting to receive the Monro ConfiDrive Performance Review that is advertised as part of their service process, but I never received one. The entire experience left me feeling like communication was poor, quality control was lacking, and important details were either overlooked or misrepresented. I made this mistake when I came in for a slow leak in one of my tires and was told I needed two new tires and it was going to cost $950 with a bunch of unnecessary fees added in. I said thanks but no thanks. Turned out to be a nail in my tire and just needed a $50 patch. Dishonest and predatory service is the name of their game. read more

I could not recommend more. These guys helped me when I was in a very tough spot. My van died as I was traveling across states to be with family for the holidays. I called this location the day before Christmas Eve, practically desperate and they told me "bring it in". Not only did they identify the problem quickly, keeping me updated throughout the process, AND fixing it day of: Everyone who worked there was incredibly kind. The regional manager stopped by and she was wonderful!! But what really set this shop above the rest was the Manager, Richard. I was not feeling too great when i walked in, clearly upset, Richard was professional, knowledgeable, and informative. But above all else, he was warm and kind to me at a time where I was feeling hopeless, and he assured me "We're gonna get you home to your family for Christmas". After seeing Richard interact with several customers and coworkers through my time in the waiting room, it's clear he goes above and beyond for clients and crew alike. Even staying late to help someone in a pinch, the day before christmas eve!! You can seriously just tell he's a great and honest guy, and I can not thank him enough for helping me this day. I WILL be returning for car repairs in the future and i'll be purchasing some lures from his shop where he makes them!!! Anglers take notice!! Support this guy and his family business. I took my car here for inspection because it is quite literally next door to my workplace. I had a feeling it wouldn't pass because of an issue I had been dealing with a week prior, but I obviously wouldn't know what to fix without getting it inspected first. Even just walking through the door the employees were meaner than cat piss, especially the red headed woman with glasses. After taking almost 40 minutes to get around to my scheduled appointment, she kept running in and asking me questions she had no interest in hearing the answer to. After she failed my inspection (which she chose to laugh about) I asked her a single question about my tires. She did a huge dramatic sigh and made a show of it and pulls out her phone telling me how she's gonna 'dumb it down' for me. I told her I wasn't interested in hearing her tangent and she chose to carry on anyway. The only reason I didn't walk out is because she was holding my keys captive. my car was returned to me with all the windows down, probably to air out the cigarette smoke from the workers who were smoking IN my car. I'll never set foot at one of your locations again. read more

Edited for left and update May 1st. I stopped at the Tire Choice/Monro Tire Service Center on Gunn Hwy. Tampa Fl. to get a slow leak fixed on my 2013 Mercedes. When the Mechanic pulled it out, the rear end was sitting very low. The Mechanic said to try and restart it, which I did. It started to rise up, but dropped back down before lt completed. The manager, Hunter, told me that another one of his mechanics told him that the mechanic that worked on my car let it down too fast and damaged the rear air shocks. Hunter had it put back on the lift, and he and the two mechanics inspected the air shocks. He pointed out that it seemed to be a top seal on the passenger side. He said he would have it repaired and suggested that I have the drivers side replaced as well, as the vehicle is 11 years old and it may malfunction too. I agreed. He said he would get a price on the parts and call to let me know. About 2 hours later, he called and said my car was ready. ? No call with price. Upon arrival, I saw that the rear end of my car was still low. I talked to the only mechanic there, and asked if the manager had it repaired as he said he would. The Mechanic said no. I then told the mechanic to please ask the manager to have it repaired properly. About 1 1/2 hours pass and I get another call. "Your car is ready" I drove back to Tire Choice only to find that my car was now sitting cockeyed! After discussions, I got tired of pointing out that it was obviously not correct, and told them I will take it to another mechanic to have it inspected. Driving towards the exit, I heard a loud pop, and the rear end dropped all the way down again. I pulled it into a space by the front door. A mechanic sits in the car and restarts it. Meanwhile, I am behind the vehicle with the manager, who is now telling me that he's not positive that it is the rear suspension and does not want to have it repaired until he is sure that's what it is. I told him it is obviously the rear suspension and he declines to agree. Just then the mechanic steps out and says, and I am paraphrasing, Yeah, it must be the rear suspension. Thoroughly frustrated, I told the manager I would give him a week to decide how he would proceed and to call me then. I went back the next week. I don't recall the actual day. I do know that he told me it was at a Mercedes dealership to be worked on. He said they could not start right away, but they would fix it as soon a possible. I thought, ok now a properly trained mechanic will be working on it. I went back to get an update. As I was walking in, I heard him asking someone on the phone, how it was going with the Mercedes. He then told me the guy at another Tire Choice was having trouble getting it calibrated?! I didn't even address the lie he had told me, I just asked for his superiors contact info, WHICH HE WOULD NOT GIVE ME, And the phone number to the head office. He gave me the Monro head office. I left an appropriate review as soon as I got home. I received an email response, which turned out to be an auto response, as I have not heard back after several attempts to contact them. Later that day, I received a call from Hunter. He spoke to his boss, who told him to file a claim with their insurance company. Travelers Property Casualty Company. I didn't hear anything else about it until Friday the 25th. A rep. from the Ins. Co. called to tell me the car would be towed to a Mercedes Benz dealership to be inspected. AND. if the damage is age related, they would not pay the claim. YEP! As I said, my car was sitting level and riding perfectly up until the mechanic at the Tire Choice pulled it out of their garage. May 28th. I drove to the Mercedes dealership, where they made the apt. UPDATE:May 30. Car is still at Tire Choice. No response to emails and phone call. read more

Go anywhere but here. I went here because my brake pedal wasn't working. They gave me new brake pads. Great. The pedal wasn't working so I took it back in since there's a warranty. The next day they told me a guy named Jody drove it around and said nothings wrong. No inspection. I asked him if he was sure because a different guy said there was something very wrong with the pedal the afternoon before when I took it in. He insisted nothing was wrong. On the way back, my brakes failed at a red light and my car slid. Don't take your car here because they will not do a decent inspection. Update: They made a repair to my brake line that was leaking air. They had me test drive it before I left. I told them it still felt off. They insisted it was working fine and even test drove it. The next day the brake pedal is back to being as bad as it was when I took it in. They suggested I don't return and find another place to fix the issue. read more

Great friendly service. I had an inspection, rear break rotor and pad change, oil change and a few other miscellaneous repairs. The price was within what I expected range wise... but my only complaint was that I was not asked the level of quality of parts or oil that I wanted to purchase, and was automatically sold premium.. I would have purchased the same anyway... but I do feel the option would be more professional. That being said, I will return. read more

I've been a customer of this Monro for several years - I've gone to a few others around the city but this one by far is my favorite. Ken and Jody are always very kind and helpful, and I never feel like I'm getting a bad deal. They're very patient in explaining what's wrong and why, and they don't call me pet names like other mechanics I've been to (though at this point I've known them long enough I wouldn't be as mad as with a stranger lol). I highly recommend this location, though I'd call ahead just in case, as they can get pretty busy. read more

I was going to Monroe for years.They have really good deals on tires but whenever you need to inspect your car expect surprises .Always something is wrong ,last time was the rear brake cylinder leaking -185$ .You either fix it or they will fail the inspection and you still have to pay.It's like the legal mafia. Although this experience is a few years old, I never forgot it and really wanted to warn others. I took my first car there for an inspection once and long story short they tried to swindle $3000+ in repair cost from me. I had my young toddler son with me at the time and was obviously a young single woman. They insisted I needed these repairs to pass inspection. Well I knew that wasn't true, left and took my car to my local mechanic and while repair was necessary it cost me less than $400. Passed inspection with no issue afterwards. It cost me two inspections but the savings was worth it. read more

These guys have been unfailing honest and nice on multiple occasions. This is the second time my dealer recommended more than $500 in "major" brake work, that wasn't really needed. They always talk to me like a person (not a girl), and show me what they would expect vs what they find (based on the dealer's work order). You do need an appointment (even for oil change and inspections), and the place isn't fancy- but I recommend them. read more

I went to Monro Muffler for an oil change, tire rotation, and inspection of a tire that was possibly leaking. They were prompt and on time for my appointment and the staff were very courteous. They did not appear eager to sell me extra services and focused on saving me extra work and cost. In fact, after the service was completed they offered me a discount I was not expecting to my bill. The location is also very convenient as it is across the street from a strip mall with target, best buy, kohls, staples, etc. so there is a lot you can accomplish while waiting for your car. Do not trust your vehicle with this garage! Monroe Auto service and tire center on McKnight is a complete rip off!! I purchased lifetime front brakes from them 2 years ago, when I went to get them replaced they did not replace them for me but rather told me I needed rear brake pads and rotors. This was a LIE! I had another trusted garage put rear brake pads on my car only 4 months and 8,000 miles prior, so there is no way that I needed rear brakes or rotors. Unfortunately I agreed to the rear brake install in December because I believed them, what a joke!! Now its March and guess what I need...New front brake pads and rotors because these clowns fixed the wrong brakes 3 months prior. These guys are only out to make money and could care less about what is actually going on with your car. Do not be a fool like I was, go somewhere else with your money.
