I've made an appointment here three times in the past week. Two times I've been cancelled on last minute and now this third time I'm told they can't inspect my car because it is too old. (Year 2000) However, I've brought my car here before and was told to bring it back to this location for inspection. I only have two weeks to get my car inspected after registration and I wasted most of that going back and forth with Monro. I kept going back because I was told during my oil change that they would pass my car for inspection. read more

The friendly guys at Monro completely saved my day (and my life!). They were absolute angels. Driving into Providence from South County, I realized something was dangerously off with my brakes.. I'd had past good experiences with this Monro, and they're located near cafes, in case the wait was going to be long, Not only did they have room to fit me in with only a short wait, I arrived there at 4pm and needed to have my car drivable to get to an artist-showcase by 6:30. And I also needed my car for a 4-hour road trip the next day. My entire brake system needed an urgent replacement - my car was un-drivable. The guys at this Monro fixed it all, and I got to relax at a cafe around the corner. Was it cheap? Definitely not. Would I have found less expensive service somewhere else? Maybe, but with what time?? In life, you spend money or you spend time and today, I had no time to spend. I made it to my art-event on time with my car brakes working as good as new and that's what matters. I didn't die on the highway today. I'm so grateful to Monro and I'll recommend them to anyone! read more

one guy books me an appointment, takes all my information, then tells me he needs to transfer me to someone else to get the price quoted. Then, the second guy tells me I can't come in for that appointment time, and when I explain the first person already booked me an appt, he hangs up on me. Absolute terrible service when I went in for an oil change. The invoice listed they rotated my tires and now it's reflected in the Carfax, but they did not even touch them. Manager filing in was rude and demanding I'd give it one star but keeping it at 2 bc usually it's been pretty good with Miguel as the manager. read more

The worse service!!! Very unprofessional! Called Wednesday they told me they would order a tire it will be in the very next morning. The service cannot be worse. We just moved here and was just trying to find a place for the oil change. If you don't have the part, I believe there could be a nicer way to communicate than saying "the auto shops won't be happy""if Firestone has the part, you should just go find them" in a extremely impatient and "why are you still coming to us" manner. I chose Monro in the first place because it's closer and has a great review score. Never encountered such a bad service before. Starting my day with a flat tire on the rt 95 was a major bummer. Luckily Monro Tire is the closest place off the highway. They were busy, but honest about time and worked fast to replace the tire. LIFE SAVERS! When they say not all super heroes wear capes ... This saying 100% goes to this location especially Tyler! My family and I were on vacation at Rhode Island for the 4th of July (2019) and our breaks literally flew off our car. Before arriving to R.I we got it checked back in NYC & the "mechanic" there did a "quick fix" and told us it was ok to drive it for the weekend as long as it was in the shop that Saturday, needless to say if it wasn't for Tyler I'm not too sure what would of happened. He was patience, reassuring and helpful. He took time out of his busy, packed workday to squeeze us in, and being on vacation on a limited budget and needing our car he fixed our issue because he saw our desperation. We owe him more than just this little Yelp review! If I was rich I would tip him as much as I can because he literally saved lives and took a stressful situation and made us feel relaxed and reassured. Thank you so much Tyler and Monroe! I would drive all the way back to R.I to get work done on my car by Monroe's Tyler than get it done in NYC at some little crappy shop. He said there was a shop near by that could help but unsure if they could get me in on short notice then did not share the number in case I wanted to reach out. TL;DR: This place is probably fine if you're in a real pinch, but you should plan on spending some extra time and money, just in case. I made an appointment for 4 new tires several days in advance, but yesterday I got the to find they forgot to order the tires. That was okay though, because the manager found similar tires in stock and cut me a deal on some of the service. It was a little more expensive than originally planned, but still acceptable to me. I left my car so they could do the work. The later end of the time estimate to do the work came & went with no call or text. I went back anyway when they were near closing and they seemed surprised that my car was still up on the lift. They finished up quick and got me on my way. Some time was lost from my day, but hey, at least the job was done. However, the very next day, I went out to my driveway to find my car with a flat tire. They forgot to put two of the valve covers back on the front tires, and all the air leaked out of one, so now I have to get a tow to the nearest air pump (and obtain replacement valve caps somehow? anyone know where I can pick those up on a Saturday night?) Before I realized my tire was absolutely too flat to drive on, I called to see if I could have them check their work real quick -- just refill the single tire, make sure it's not defective, and return my valve caps. The guy said that they were verrrry busy and could fit me in on Monday. What??? That's two days from now. Y'all, it was YOUR mistake that caused my flat tire, and meanwhile, I can't drive anywhere. Glad I just paid you nearly $500 to not be able to drive my car all weekend.. The owner might be very accommodating but I'm not about to have my car towed across town just to go back here. read more

I've been going to Monro for repairs for a few years and they've always been a reliable and transparent shop. Miguel was super helpful in my most recent repair job (just got it today) that was a warranty claim on a big suspension repair. He was transparent on what can and can't be done, how much it might cost, and dealing with third party inspectors that showed up to verify the claim. Overall I've had an excellent experience with this shop and will continue going here while I'm in the area. read more

I have always had an excellent time at Monro Muffler on Fed Hill. They always have promotions going and have one of the lowest oil changes in Providence. Those at the counter are always friendly and like to joke around with me. I make an appointment, drop off my car, get a coffee on Westminster and return in 45 minutes to find that they've done exactly what they told me they would do. There are never any "surprise" costs and they recently told me that I would need new tires six months in advance. I know a lot of car places like to pressure you into purchasing unnecessary add-ons to your car, but I feel like I can trust the guys at this dealership. Always had a good experience. read more

I have been getting oil changes here for several months now and have been very pleased with the service. Today, I brought my fleet vehicle in for some work (battery, front brakes and rotors, etc). Great mechanics are hard to find. I will not take my car anywhere else but here....very smart, professional and honest mechanics. I had some rattling and the mechanic knew exactly what is was and where it was coming from without even looking at it. This is a no-nonsense spot for some types of routine service. Got a tire replaced and an oil change for $100. I take pretty good care of my car so I find it very offensive when places try to sell me new filters and whatnot. You will not find that sort of bologna here at Monro. What they did was strip my drain pan cap making future oil changes near impossible without replacing the entire pan. In summary, great for a tire change, but not the greatest when it comes to moving parts and fluids. read more

Quick and so helpful!! I had to get my break rotors and pads replaced and oil changed and I'm really glad I went here. It was a good price and I didn't have to wait a long time. They communicated and explained everything in a non-condescending manner, which is honestly really nice when you don't know much about cars and it shows. When I got my oil changed, I hadn't made an appointment and I showed up close to opening (which I know is kind an a** move) but they still got it done really quickly. Made an appointment online for an oil change. The appointment request email says that you will receive an email to confirm your appointment..well you never do. When I called for an update they said they were booked until next week. At least have the courtesy to tell me you don't have time. I had issues with making an appointment here during my last visit. Past weekend was my second visit at Monroe! I felt like I was deceived this time. My car needed an oil change which was really a $22 transaction but They just wouldn't stop up selling! So I agreed to pay $40 bucks for a synthetic blend oil change. However, I saw the guy use regular oil and not the synthetic blend that I paid for during oil change! Very disappointing! I was so frustrated that I didn't even feel like confronting these guys. But Guess what, not going back there again! Watch out and spread the word! read more
