Been there many times usually for an oil change. The wait is easily 45 min to an hour. The service itself is usually quick but the wait time is a killer. It's first come first serve unless the order is unorganized which has happened to me in the past. The service itself is pretty efficient. They usually ask if I have coupons and if not, they will try to get me one. read more

Oil changes are the only maintenance I haven't been doing myself simply for convenience, but after this, I think I'd rather deal with this greasy mess myself. Went in for an oil change before driving to my parents. Drove the entire 300 miles there before realizing I was leaking oil and spraying it all over the inside of my engine compartment. Took off the oil filter cap and screwed it back on, which is all it took to solve the problem. Ended up replacing the oil filter cap and actual filter for my own peace of mind as the filter they had "replaced" was already heavily discolored and cracked. Is this kind of service is worth $110? I don't think so. I also requested they replace my rear wiper, which they failed to do. So thanks for that. read more

!!DESTROYED ENGINE!!! This is LONG but necessary. Please read. Valvoline says if the Regional Manager does not agree then nothing happens. It is UNFAIR that they can continue to destroy cars with no repercussion. About 2 weeks after my oil change my car check engine light started to flicker. I called my family mechanic and he told me to wait till Monday and I could bring it in to be looked at. I let the car sit until then. I go to meet him and while driving my car begins to make this big banging sound and completely dies IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. I was in such a bad spot that state troopers had to come out to help me safely get off the highway. A tow truck driver (also a mechanic) comes to pick me up and he looks at the car before loading it. He tells me I have zero oil in my car. He added a small amount of oil to the car to see if it would start up and there was no success. When he loaded the car onto the tow truck bed you could see the oil he added spilling onto the tow bed. He tows the car to my house and he tells me I need to call Valvoline. My family mechanic met me at home and he checked under the car as well and let me know he could see oil covering the bottom of the car. He also told me to immediately call Valvoline. I give them a call and the site manager Brett offers to come to my house to look at the car since the car could no longer drive. He comes looks at the car, goes under the car with a rag an a tool. I watched him wipe the area where the oil cap is and he told me that he also made sure the cap under the car was tight using the tool he had in his hand. He then proceeded to add more oil to the car and attempted to start the car. Of course it did not start. He then runs a test on the car and tells me electrical issues are coming up and it's not something Valvoline is responsible for. He told me I needed to call a mechanic and get another opinion then open a claim. I proceeded to call the manufacturer mechanic of my car and booked an appointment. There they told me they would take a look at the engine based on Bretts information that it may be the engine or an electrical problem. They conducted a diagnostic test and got back to me very quickly saying it had nothing to do with my engine. They told me the reason the car was giving those readings was because my engine at that point was already seized. They proceeded to tell me the reason it seized was because the OIL CAP ON MY CAR WAS NOT PROPERLY SCREWED ON AND OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE CAP. They said the cap was covered in oil. And that was 100% the problem. I immediately opened a claim. While on a call Brett was not truthful about our first meeting at my home and so I was no longer comfortable working with him. I was pointed to the Regional manager Tim. Later I get a phone call telling me that two men went to look at my vehicle. It ended up being Brett and Tim. Brett tells me Tim needed to see the car. I was never told this information. My car was no longer at the mechanic because the diagnostic was complete and I was told to pick it up. They tried to make it seem like I was keeping the car from them. We schedule an appointment to meet up so they can look at my car. The appointment happens with both Tim and Brett. They come and tell me well there's oil in the car. I tell them the oil that's in the car currently is what Brett put in the car. I told them because the car hadn't been driven the oil was slowly leaking out but when driving the pressure makes the leak worse. Later Tim tells me that the receipt of my diagnostic needed a proper header. I completed that task. Then he tells me that the receipt with the diagnostic cannot mention the fact that I went to Valvoline and got an oil change. The mechanic asked me questions about any previous work done to the vehicle before conducting the diagnostic. I told them they could not take that off. After months I am told it was reported I was not reachable and was not providing information they needed so the claim was closed. Now I am here with a $7,000+ problem that was not my fault. read more

Quick, reliable place to get serviced! Went in primarily for a full synthetic oil change and they were able to also replace my front headlight which had completely burned out. Also, my check engine light has been on for a while and they checked my codes and let me take a photo of the different code descriptions for free. It was refreshing to see half of the staff were women and most of the staff spoke Spanish as well. Everyone was very warm and helpful. Will definitely go back again! read more

During a visit to this location. The crew working there broke the Oil Filter cap on my 2018 Toyota Camry. That car had only been service by Toyota until this last time when I was pressed for time. I took my truck here for an oil change and transfer case fluid replacement. They did not put the screws back in my air dam. When I brought it back to have my screws returned they put zip ties on it instead of the screws they had taken out the first time. Customer Service has been of minimal assistance and there is a case open. Staff appear very inexperienced. 15 Minute Service has become over 7 days and 3 trips very quickly. Avoid. read more

I had to wait close to an hour to get my oil changed. That was my mistake I went on a Saturday which is generally the day that other people have time to go. The technician was cordial, friendly and explained everything that I needed to know. They did try to upsell me which I understand, that's good business. However I didn't need my tires rotated as I already had them done, and although he did try to sell me a filter, I have a friend that can replace it for free. Can't say enough about how friendly and quick they were with my oil change. Next time I'll make sure I go in the middle of the week when it's not so busy. I went for an oil change on Saturday 6/18 at the Reservoir Ave location. While the techs were changing my oil, I heard one of them say to another staff member "I hate to ask, but can you grab me two zip ties?" Fast forward to Tuesday 6/21 and I'm getting my two year inspection, only to find out that my skid pan was split in half and being held together by two zip ties. This caused a major oil leak and obviously caused my vehicle to fail inspection. I will absolutely never bring my vehicle back to any Valvoline location. It's one thing to break the pan, it's another thing to not tell the driver and let them drive away with a leaking oil tank. Absolutely awful experience and the only reason I go back is to tell the staff in person, show them the photos and demand they replace my oil pan and fix what was broken - CORRECTLY. read more

Went here for an oil change but a month later my car says I need a new one. I went back to see what had happened, they glanced at the bottom of my car and 'confirmed' I had a car leak (it's pouring rain all day, and there have been no signs of one), and tried to charge me for a top up. The service itself I received (whatever was the "premium" oil change/filter change package, the $150 one) was fine, but the employees here are reckless, irresponsible, and put me and my life in danger. My car had (apparently) been taken here in the past by my abuser, from whom I am now safe and have a restraining order. I repeatedly asked the employee (who wasn't wearing a mask btw) to update the info in the computer, as I could see it. He ignored me. 3 times. When my oil change was done, I asked for a receipt and was told "we emailed it to you". I said "no, you emailed it to my ex boyfriend". I asked if he could retract the email and he said no. The next couple of days were a flurry - being on the phone with my social worker, alerting prov police, having to hastily spend $700 on security cameras, alerting all my neighbors. I waited over a month to write this review because I've been so SHOOK and this employees mistake cost me hundreds of dollars and many hours of worry. The people who work here PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER. They have no respect for women (obviously, because I literally asked him 3 times to change the name/email and each time he ignored me). I went today and was given a quote between $55-99 for an oil change. I have always paid $60 at most for an oil change anywhere else but I needed it done. When I pull into the garage, the guy tells me I need European Synthetic Oil for my 2013 VW beetle and that it would be $150. I tell him i have never gotten that type before and he lied to my face saying that was the type of oil in my car. I didn't know what to do since i had already waited 15min to get into the garage so i ended up paying even though they conned me. I remember how long it took for the tech to get me in and out and on two occasions needed help to get my filter off and the plug. It sounded like an impact driver was used to get it off. So now I have to replace the whole drain pan and I want to see how Valvoline wants to solve this problem. I went in for my usual oil change. They offered to check my tire pressure.. They took some air out of one tire.. on my way home that tire was completely flat. The person who fixed it said the metal part were you put air in was damaged and I need a whole new tire and something else about the pressure sensor. A recent oil change and radiator fluid replacement led to a giant fluid puddle in my driveway where no leak existed before. This was just the latest bad experience at this store. A few months ago, the technicians at this store didn't put my oil cap on correctly which led to further staining of my driveway. A couple years ago, they broke the oil cap on my wife's car, which led to the car being off the road until the dealer could get a new oil cap. These aren't high level repairs. The least you should expect is that they don't make your car worse than when you brought it in. Apparently, that's too much to ask. read more

Well, not at all satisfied. I normally change my own oil. Got lazy on a cold weekend last winter and went to V on Reservoir in Cranston. What a mistake. First, and I get it, they tried to upcharge me and add services I didn't need. Once we got to the oil change I asked them to please be careful replacing the drain plug. Do it wrong and the oil pan replacement can be costly. Well they did it wrong. They stripped my drain plug. Luckily they didn't strip the threads on the pan. How do I know? I change my oil today. Plug was hard to remove. Stripped! Luckily I got a new plug at the local parts store. Since I change my oil myself, normally, I know the plug was fine. Additionally, V used a tiny, tiny oil filter on my Ford V8. Small filter = less, much less surface area for contaminants to get filtered. (Surprised the filter didn't rupture.) This could cause the filter to clog prematurely and the oil bypass valve could open causing unfiltered oil to circulate. And, they only put 5 quarts back in!!! My motor holds 6 quarts. They charged me for 6 quarts. I know, we discussed it. I drained out about 4 3/4 quart todays. The rest was in the tiny filter. I've changed my oil many times for this Grand Marque and always get back 5 1/2+ quarts when I drain as my motor does not burn oil. Valvoline, u suk. A minute later and V has a robot respond to my review. Call us! We want to help! Yeah, right. They read my review. Nothing more to say. read more

Valvoline changed my husbands oil. We drove off the lot. Less than 3 miles later the car stalls and the engine shuts off. Oil is all over the ground and the dip stick is clean. Clearly, the filter, pan, cap, something wasn't on correctly. Clearly the crankshaft was damaged and the engine corroded. Valvoline has us tow the car to their garage for inspection. 1 week later they say it's "electrical issues and not their fault". We don't want money, we just want our working car. Now this has to be brought to higher authority. I don't recommend Valvoline EVER! They're crooks and shady. read more

I agree with prior Yelpers - Great service. Super fast - in, out and on your way in 15 minutes but $60+ for a synthetic blend oil change is too rich for my blood. My dealership charges $49.95 and that includes tire rotation. Nothing wrong with trying to make a buck but I think the premium here for convenience will make it so that this place is my only occasional stop if I don't want to head to the dealership. I am sure folks with kids who don't want to schelp them to waiting in a service area for 30-45 minutes love the speed of this place. Me I guess I'm just too cheap to cough up $60 every 6000 miles and then have to go somewhere else for tire rotation. Drive safe Providence and don't neglect your blinkers ;) read more

I was in Warwick visiting some family and came to this location because of the great reviews, and they are definitely true! Everyone that worked on my car was very friendly, outgoing, and informative. They told me information I previously wasn't aware of, they offered upgrades but didn't force them, and they gave me a coupon to help me save money! I can't believe how awesome this team was. They were very fast - it took maybe 10-15 minutes, but I didn't feel rushed and they explained everything every step of the way! For someone who has never had their oil changed while I was in the car, it was really awesome to see such great customer service still exists! read more

I pulled up with my own filter and oil. I was able to use my own purchased filter and oil at other Valvoline locations, especially given the make and model of my vehicle. I was refused service even though I specifically said at other locations they allowed me to use my own store bought oil and filter. They didn't seem to want to help at all and the technician made a comment that seemed like I shouldn't have been there even though I was really close to being due for an oil change. He asked me what my mileage was and then asked me how many miles was it that my oil change was due. It was a matter of maybe 80 miles before it was due. I was turned away and they didn't insist on getting me serviced at a nearby location and I expressed I wanted it done today. They did suggest they could call over to another Valvoline but I don't like how the service is dependent on who feels like doing what and accepting what that day. I WAS REFUSED SERVICE AND I HAD ALL OF THE TOOLS REQUIRED TO GET SERVICED. If you are a car guy please do your job. read more

My wait was only 7 minutes and I was quoted 15 min by Tyler. I love that they quoted more of a wait time than less! I hate it when companies trim their wait times to get you to stay then you end up waiting longer than quoted. I think it's awesome that I didn't have to get out of my car! This establishment is a total joke with the kind of kids they hire,not to mention these kids are touching lexus, Mercedes and many other expensive cars. I'm a Buisness owner and I understand how hard it is to get good hell but I was astonished when one of the service technicians (basically a young over weight adolescent took a pair of pliers just to remove the oil filler cap on my 2012 lexus then she drops the cap into the engine compartment after she dropped it she yells down to the assistant Manager to let him know to look for it. Then comes another overweight adolescent and he sits down by the front drivers side of my car an starts having a full conversation with the girl who dropped the oil cap into my engine compartment. I could over hear the entire nonsense conversation the we're having about the walking dead and bla bla bla. Then the young man says to her what do you think they would do if a were to just walk off this job. At this point I have saw and heard enough BS I could here the other service technician under my Lexus talking to himself that he lost one or two of the skid plate bolts. I think valvoline needs to hire people with skills and ambition to want to work and do there best. I have to be honest I was not feeling satisfied when I left that service station an also took the car to the dealership to check that all skid plate bolt were re installed and guess what ?? They had left 4 of the skid plate bolts off. These people shouldn't be working on hard working customers vehicles. I understand it's just an oil change but they are HACKS!!! Love this location and always return. 10 minutes for the actual oil change and it's always a breeze. They recommend products but don't force you into anything. I've never had a problem. I'm reviewing this location because I no longer live in Cranston and thought I'd try the local location in MA and was completely frustrated. Drove all the way to Cranston and it was easy and fast as expected. I highly recommend this location. I GOT BURNED BY THIS PLACE! 1. It took them over 25 minutes to change my oil. 2. The never completely closed the good which came open on the highway. 3. They filled the tires to all different pressures. 4. I had a coupon at home and they that I could bring it in the next day and they'd give me a rebate. I went back the next day and the floor was being worked on and they said they couldn't rebate me because the computers were down. I said well the coupon will expire if I wait till after tomorrow.
