I was telling them what the people of the telephone help desk told me that I had to go in to prove my identity. They said we don't do that here. Not till October and I just said Ma'am I'm just telling you what they told me to do and they gave me a ticket number on the help desk. She went and talked to her supervisor made a couple of my ID and was supposed to email it to my case worker which he never received. Had to go back in to see him and I had to take the lead and call the help desk on my cell phone so that they could talk to him and now he's supposed to get a call from some other State worker to prove my identity. I have all the ID's that they need. Been going on for over a month and still not resolved. The building is clean and comfortable.

If I could give this post office a 0 I would. Months ago I took a package, that had to be shipped…read moreinternationally, to the post office. I paid for the 5-day guarantee that it would arrive overseas within 5 business days. A month later the package hadn't left Michigan. I had no time to wait, as those documents were extremely important and another set had to be mailed out immediately. So, once again, I paid for the 5-day guarantee that the package would be delivered in 5 business days, mind you that each time I mail this 5-day guarantee package I have to pay $100. A month later, this package also has not left Michigan. They had no idea where either of the packages were and couldn't give me a refund because they "can't give refunds until the package is scanned in at its destination". Now it's the third month, neither package has ever been located and the post office refuses to give a refund. On a side note: I mailed the package through DHL, after the debacle with the Post Office, it arrived in 3 days overseas. Suggestion: Do not spend your money on the 5-day guarantee. It would seem that if they lose your package they feel it's good customer service to keep your money while providing no service.

The Frenchtown Fire Department is a combination department made up of full-time and paid-on-call firefighters. The Department Chief, Wendy Stevens; Shift Captain and Department Secretary, Angie Ashcraft staff the headquarters at Station 1. The Fire Inspector and the Shift Lieutenant staffs Station 2. Both Station 1 and Station 2 have at least two full-time firefighters (including the Officer) on duty 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The department has four fire stations located in Frenchtown Township. Most of the department firefighters have become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's), Specialists, or Paramedics. They have 18 full-time firefighters and 9 paid-on-call (POC) firefighters. POC firefighters must live in the township or within 1 mile of the township boundary and respond from their homes.

Me, I thought it was pretty meh. My brother-in-law said his daughters were pretty salty about a former ice rink getting turned into the museum here and from the vast amount of empty space on one side you can tell they were light on material and/or budget. The model of the fort was probably my favorite part but that only takes five or ten minutes tops. There is a number of very mediocre nature murals and models of period dwellings sometimes with cheap mannequins hanging out. It doesn't take long for a walkthrough. This place isn't exactly Greenfield Village. My brother-in-law got the attendants to give us a special screening of a short documentary made about the big battle of the War of 1812 that took place here. It was decent and this outing would have felt really underwhelming without it. I don't know what the usual schedule and criteria for screenings is. Not much of a national park as evidenced by the modest gift shop selling merchandise for larger and more well known national parks. The field itself is just that, a big ol field without so much as a hiking trail with historical markers. I'm glad we were able to pair this with the Michigan Museum of Horror for our Monroe expedition as I don't know if either, this especially, was worth the trip alone.

Visited years ago before they redid the Visitor Center- WOW- What a difference, they really outdid…read morethemselves with the displays, and the size of the museum. It is definitely a good place to take the Family on a hot or rainy day. It has a lot of space full of well done exhibits. We especially loved it as it ties in with our recent visit to Voyageurs National Park.

It's big, it's clean, easy off, easy back on the highway, you don't have to go to Monroe and you're no longer in Ohio, what's not to love? I usually end up here at night but if you're here in non-vampire hours there's an absolutely insane amount of travel brochures in a Hallmark store sized space built especially for them. I've even seen a show flyer here for a band playing at the Lager House in Detroit. I can't say that for any other rest stop. Great place to stretch my legs and pick up some caffeine for the last leg of my trip back home. The last time I wound up here was coming back from Columbus on New Year's Eve during a blizzard. I meant to be in Detroit to ring in the New Year but the snow slowed me up enough for me to know that wasn't going to happen. I honestly thought about staying at this rest stop for an extra twenty minutes here just to say I rang in 2025 here. I ultimately decided I'd be pretty bored and that I'd go on my weary way into the snowy night just to pass midnight on some random spot on I-75 but just the fact I even considered this wacky plan should speak to this being a really nice res, er, welcome center. Praise Michigan!

This is a really nice welcome center/rest area. It's a nice large, clean building with a large…read morebrochure/informational section in addition to the restrooms. Outside is green space with picnic tables, a nice large playground featuring swings, slides, climbing structures, and more, a dog run, and a very neat display on Michigan rocks. There are several signs that explain what each sample is, and they are arranged near the walkway. Good parking area available.
