I was really disappointed by the rules at the adults-only pool. Guests are not allowed to use floaters there, which completely defeats the purpose of relaxing in a quiet, adult space. Instead, floaters are only permitted at the main pool--which is filled with children and noise. For a hotel at this price point, this feels very restrictive and not guest-friendly. If you're expecting a relaxing pool experience, this policy makes it difficult to enjoy your stay. I have stayed at multiple Montage properties and this one has been extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel. There are far better ones in the area such as the Esperanza and the Four Seasons. read more

One of my fav resort experiences. Making an itinerary and booking activities with Montage was super easy. They were very responsive. We booked wave runners and horseback riding (both off-site, have to take taxi or shuttle). And the agave experience (very informative and educational at the Mezcal restaurant on-site). Transportation to and from airport is easy, just book with Montage and give them your flight info. Our room had a plunge pool and a view of a mountain. Complimentary guac with choose ur own mix-ins was really cute. The beach is public but Montage is one of the few resorts in Cabo that has a swimmable beach. It was pretty busy the day we arrived but was less busy afterwards. We came in September so it was off-season. The resort was pretty empty in the daytime; like 10 people max at the pools. The Mezcal restaurant was our favorite spot we tried on the trip (on and off resort). The food was amazing and the gym was nice too. They even have a reformer pilates machine. Concierge and front desk were super helpful. Such an amazing experience for my first time in Mexico. Came for my birthday and would come back to my room everyday to see something special. We booked a private beach dinner for our last night and it was so gorgeous; including torches and a bonfire. Everything was so gorgeous from the landscaping to the rooms and views. A fantastic and relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy life! It's really tucked away in its own area - a really big resort in and of itself! Golf carts are available to get from place to place if you aren't wanting to walk, but all paths are paved for leisurely walks. You can't really leave the resort area without getting a ride all the way out, but that also makes it so you're unbothered. It's certainly a more pricey resort option, but anything you could want is here. Multiple restaurants and bars, a cute cafe that sells delicious pastries and lattes (and gelato!), and more pools than you know what to do with. My favorite spot to eat is probably the Thai spot - a fantastic ode to the Asian cuisine. The beach area is great and ocean on this side is swimmable, which is a huge bonus! read more

Spent the day here and left pretty disappointed. The food was just okay at best--average overall, and the tacos were served cold. Service was fine, nothing special. What really ruined the experience, though, was an employee named Anahim, who aggressively told us to leave for stepping onto the beach. For a hotel that positions itself as high-end, this felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. We had much higher expectations, but the overall vibe was off and not worth the price or reputation. I wouldn't stay here or recommend it. If you're looking for better service and a more relaxed experience, there are definitely better options elsewhere. We came. We left. No returning. read more

What started out as a great experience turned out very quickly to a nightmare. From waiters spilling drinks all over me and not apologising, manager ignoring me for 45 min like I am the one in fault, just for us to see him laughing with other employees. For the amount of money spent you better of going to the one and only or Waldorf osteria. I am very very disappointed. Love it here every time we come here! Amazing hotel with even better views. Located right on Santa Maria Beach where this hotel basically has this little cove to themselves. Staff is beyond amazing, some of the best service I've ever had! They are always checking on you and making sure you have everything you need. They have a great pool area with multiple pools all over and even a swim up bar. Each pool has an amazing view of the beach, can't get better than that. Our favorite was the swim up bar, you can order drinks and tacos while watching the ocean! Food here is sooo good, their Al Pastor is some of the best I've had in Cabo! Try their Al Pastor nachos ;) the "local" menu! They also have a great spa too, gorgeous layout and the services are amazing! I'm not really sure how to rate our stay. We've just checked in hours ago and our girls were stung by jellyfish. They ran out of the water screaming in pain. They're 8 years old and were terrified. The lifeguard treated them with vinegar. What really worked was getting them in an extra hot bath. Just a word of caution for the beach here. We're looking forward to better days ahead. read more

Fantastic service for our entire stay. I was so pleased with the attention to detail and the proactiveness of the staff. This was truly a vacation from real life. Downtown Cabo San Lucas is about 20 to 25 minutes away. We left the resort one evening to have drinks downtown and within an hour and a half. I was ready to return to the Montage. Yes, it's pricey but you have one of the best swimming beaches at the resort and all the food and drink is delicious. It's not the party atmosphere of Cabo Wabo. It's quite the opposite. It's serene. It's picturesque. And I've been totally spoiled now and not interested in staying anywhere else. The resort offers a private taxi to take you to other places around the area, but you can also use your Uber app to call a car if you want. There is a significant difference in price. The town of San Jose is about 25 minutes away the opposite direction of Cabo San Lucas. It's cute and has a lot of restaurant options and shops if you want to try some thing other than what's available at the resort. read more

The attentive concierge and beach/pool and restaurant waitstaff are unparalleled. Our stay here was absolutely phenomenal. Not once were we disappointed, from the moment we were picked up at the airport and dropped back off. We would go back in a heartbeat. Not to gloss over the amazing room, view, amenities, food, pools, and landscaping, but Montage Los Cabos definitely sets itself apart with their service. Everybody we encountered was incredibly gracious and helpful. The standouts for us were Diego at the airport, Isabel our driver, Miguel at front desk, Ysa in guest services, and Carlos and Eduardo at the restaurants. They went above and beyond and ensured our stay was the best it could possibly be. There really isn't anything I could say concisely to adequately describe our experience here. The property had everything we could possibly need/want and we did not leave at any point during our 3 night stay. If you want exceptional service, beautifully maintained grounds, delicious food and all the amenities you want, this is the place for you. While expensive, the cost is well worth it. They have a number of restaurants on the grounds, which all serve different types of food (Thai, Italian, Mexican, etc.). The cocktail bar at the main bar serves some of the best cocktails I've had, ever. It's about a 20 minute drive to downtown Cabo, but we barely left the resort. read more

Our travel pro tip is that if you're in a Designated Vacation Place like Cabo (where there are just clusters upon clusters of hotels), hotel restaurants will generally have the best views. It's hard not to enjoy a meal when you're also enjoying the panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez. You have to be young and ready for major walking to get around this hotel. It's huge and way too spread out. We spent 70% of our time asking for golf cart rides to get around. Rooms are basic modern boxes. No real charm. Doesn't feel like Mexico. But the staff is super nice and the beds are comfortable and it has a swimmable beach so that's a plus but it's a very expensive hotel. It also needs a convenience store with basic things like toothpaste, candy, magazines, toiletries, beverages, sunscreen, sunglasses, Kleenex, etc. read more

This is an update to my previous review. The best I can give the Montage is a 3.75 because our first day there was ruined by the aforementioned issues. Yes, they made the remainder of our stay wonderful, but the first day was lost. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and expected better from the Montage. The issues raised in my previous review were all addressed perfectly and professionally by Mario Arriaga. He is an asset to the Montage. The manager we initially dealt with, I believe his name is Marco, has a lot to learn and he should ask Mario for guidance. The pluses: Mezcal is a great restaurant and the service was fantastic. The spa is very nice and clean and the massage I had was fantastic. The service throughout the property was great. The minuses: Marea is not a very good restaurant. We ordered a dish called Seafood Fritto (Fried Seafood). The fish and shrimp were dry, overcooked, and flavorless. We told the waiter and his answer was "That's because it is fried and not grilled". Seriously?? The name of the dish is Fried Seafood!! The manager did tell us he would refund the charge (the next day and after I contacted Mario) but this should have been addressed on the spot. The waiter was useless. Either teach the chef how to make it or remove it from the menu. The other dishes were just ok. The golf carts are helpful, but this hotel is not conducive to the mobility impaired. Most of the places here require you to walk up ramps, and the 2nd floor rooms require walking up a long staircase. Their ads should mention that they do not have elevators. You have to walk up steps to get to the cabanas and there are no handrails. Did I enjoy my stay? The last 4 nights, yes. Would I return? Maybe, maybe not. read more

I would give this resort 10 stars if I could. There is absolutely no reason to leave because everything is at your fingertips. The staff cannot do enough to accommodate your every wish. The gym is sparkling and sanitized after every user. All of the amazing pools are facing Santa Maria bay so there is not a bad spot. You are immediately greeted by a server who brings cold water and towels. All of the restaurants are amazing. There is even a pop-up Thai restaurant that is permanently on the property that is just fabulous. I cannot say enough about this amazing resort! read more

I only spent 3 days here but it's 5 stars. The beauty of the resort is amazing and it has one of those infinity pools so you can look like your somewhere crayy on the gram. Terrible. As an owner we have had a terrible experience thus far. Save your money and stay somewhere else. A day before visiting which we only do a few times a year they say the AC is broken and offer no compensation? Having had the owners experience in montage Deer Valley you can not compare the two even tho they cost the same and HOA fees are insane. 10 year anniversary trip and Montage Los Cabo made it a truly memorable and exceptional experience. Everything has been designed for ultimate luxury and relaxation. The sights, scents, and tastes - walking between the rooms and breathing in the flowers, every sight and angle at the pools, the arrangements of the dishes - have all been curated and carefully selected so that from the minute you arrive to the minute you check in for your flight back home nothing you experience is short of pleasing and comfortable. The staff is so friendly and well trained. Instead of being hyper focused on their jobs or tasks at all times which I'm sure is altogether an immeasurable responsibility, they greet you at every corner and even pause and stand at attention to welcome you with a smile. The service and hospitality we received was humbling to say the least. So many highlights to choose from so I'll name just a few that will stay with me forever: 1. Playa Santa Maria - That beach... Framed by those two rocky hillsides. That warm water. Those gentle breezes that coaxed you into a beachside nap that you didn't know you needed. Those soft pink sunsets. Indelibly etched in my mind and heart. 2. Spa Montage - Romantic Escape Couples Massage and a second Thai Massage. Antonio who was my therapist both times was a true professional and provided deep and healing massages. He has trained and practiced all over the world and it was a pleasure to experience his treatments. 3. Studio Em Photo Session - to mark 10 years we decided to do a photo session. It was our first time doing something like that and Mercedes was very kind and patient with us. The next day during our proofing session they gave us time to carefully choose our photos and provided a nice relaxed atmosphere where we weren't hurried or pressured. It made for even more memories that we can cherish. Also noteworthy was Mariia at Marea who had a keen eye and saw us juggling bags and outfits on our way to the beach to catch some shots of the sunset. She kindly offered to watch over our things to make the rest of our photo shoot more convenient. 4. Chicken enchiladas at Mezcal for breakfast. Savory deliciousness. The best thing I ate all weekend. If it was socially acceptable I would have licked my plate. 5. Airport Check In Service - we had NO IDEA that after our driver dropped us off for our flight back home that there would be yet another Montage agent who would help us and walk us through the check in process to board and get our passes. With covid, the process is a little more complicated with having to prove a negative test and whatnot but our agent took care of everything and escorted us up to the last minute before we walked through security. They left nothing to chance and went beyond the extra mile. Again, extraordinary and humbling service. 6. The bed - king sized heaven. So soft and luxurious. Made for deep restful nights. Seriously, if you have someone special to connect with or to celebrate a hallmark occasion with Montage Los Cabo is the place to go. read more

The staff is so incredibly nice and the food at all 3 restaurants was delicious. We came back twice in 1 month because there is no other resort that can live up to the Montage's standards. We stayed this past weekend for my husbands bday. My husband wanted to host everyone and He booked the Ocean View Deluxe Suite for us and 2 standard rooms for his family. I knew I really had to make this special since it's his 40th bday. I'm pretty meticulous with details, so I contacted the team to help me set up a few requests. (Legit like 90 back and forth emails, I'm sorry guys). Upon arrival, they had his white hat that he left at the resort last time. I contacted the team and asked them to coordinate a surprise Mariachi on the beach with cocktails. Wow! Awesome set up! All the meals we had were amazing. The team did a great job servicing a group of 8ppl. I contacted concierge to have the pastry chef make a special cake for him with his company logo on it. They did and they nailed it. They also handled all the requests I asked for. Thank you Overall, it was just incredible. I loved the attention to detail that I even bought myself a souvenir, which is something I've never even done @ Disneyland. read more

Montage has the best sandy beaches in all of Cabo. You can snorkel or swim because in some ocean areas the waves are calm. There are three pool area from what I noticed. One Pool is huge and devoted to the enjoyment of family with children. There is a lot of varied enjoyment for families at this large pool. The pool service is outstanding. There are 2+ pool areas for adults. Beautiful views of the beach; cabañas for privacy, a swim up bar and an infinity at the edge of the beach. Plenty of healthy delicious food in room or at the restaurants. I did not leave the property. The Spa is Huge! I used the pool as my wife worked out in the gym. Let me preface this review by saying, I've stayed at many fine hotels and resorts before, but nothing comes close to this property. If I could give the Montage Los Cabos 10-stars I would! What an absolutely incredible place. My fiancé and I only had one day/night available to stay here, but that one day/night was perfection! We came here from another resort and showed up 4 hours before the usual check-in time. The Montage already had our room ready which was a nice surprise. They also let us have late check-out until 2:30pm! From the moment we arrived on property, we felt extremely safe and were greeted by everyone we came across. We booked a king suite with a plunge pool and it was such a gorgeous room... it included an indoor/outdoor shower as well. Our host, Javier, truly made sure our experience was one of a kind. We had just gotten engaged a few days prior and told Javier that in passing, not expecting anything from it. Little did we know, he had a special dessert prepared for us at Marea where we had dinner that night . He also set up a romantic, candle-lit bath with rose petals all over our room and a bottle of wine! We were astonished that he did all of that, it made us feel so special and was such a lovely surprise. The entire property is just stunning, and the staff truly want you to have the best experience possible, waiting on you hand and foot. We cannot wait to come back here. Then He got stung by a jelly fish ! while swimming at the beach in front of the hotel. The staff did not want to compensate us in any way for the annoyance, discomfort, pain & suffering he endured.
