We came here for breakfast a couple of months ago and were surprised they had breakfast. We have eaten here for dinner before, and I had their spectacular fish and chips. This time, I had their chicken fried steak with their chorizo jalapeño gravy, and it was awesome! The gravy isn't as spicy as you would think, just very flavorful. I really appreciated their breakfast! I had steak & eggs with sweet potatoe fries. I must say I was impressed with the 12 oz ribeye steak. Their steak was tender & the kind of steak you expect at a UPSCALE restaurant. The sweet potatoe fries were fresh & crispy & my over easy eggs perfect. The only negative was my decaf coffee which was cold & weak but I am not complaining. Instead I am sending a message to store owner/manager to remind whoever's responsibility it is regarding coffee to do the right thing & dispose of very cold weak coffee & not embarrass the restaurant with something that is an easy fix. We just had breakfast here because we heard good things. We had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated (granted they were a bit busy) nobody acknowledged our existence. We then were seated and nobody came to get our drinks. We proceeded to help ourselves at the buffet when a young lady at the bar said we had to get drinks from our waiter. I politely told her we had been there for roughly 20-30 minutes and nobody came to get our drink order so we helped ourselves at the buffet. The waitress then showed up and got got our drink order at the buffet bar.( very odd lol). She checked on us once the entire time we were there. Will not be back. read more

Yesterday my daughter and I had dinner at Montana Jacks, we have eaten there many times and never been disappointed, yesterday was the exception. I had the hand breaded pork chop dinner, it wasn't even recognizable as a pork chop. it had been pounded down to about an 1/8 inch, had about an 1/8 inch breading on both sides. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy must have been setting for quite a while before being warmed in the microwave and sent out. Whoever the cook was should be fired. The service was good, no complaints there. It will be awhile before we go back, maybe it will change back to being good food. read more

My wife and I went to Montana Jacks the Sunday of the air show. Was surprised it was not to crowded at Montana Jacks. There might have been around 11 people seated when we arrived. It took around 10 minutes to get us seated, another 5 minutes for the waitress to take our order. The food was good but the service was slooooooooooow. There was only one waitress and one man on the floor. I had fish and chips with a side order of onion rings and my wife had chicken alfredo. I had a chocolate Torte for desert. We had one Dr. Pepper and on Mountain Dew. After paying the bill at our table we had to wait another 10 minutes to get our receipt. BTW I was COLD the whole time I was there. The air conditioning needs to be balanced. I was blown away at the cost of our dinner. It was $72.54 with tip ! My wife and I eat out occasionally and Montana Jacks is THE most expensive restaurant in the Heights. It cost $16.99 for fish and chips, $14.00 for a pound of chocolate torte, $16.99 for chicken Alfredo, 2 sodas for $6.58, $7.99 for 6 onion rings and a $10.00 tip the waitress did not deserve. Theres a difference between raising your prices to keep up with inflation and Greed and Gouging. I will scratch Montana Jacks off my dining list. read more

A hairy experience! Well we ate here twice in the past week. Breakfast both times. A week ago the service and food rated at a 4 or 5 star for our party of 2. Today however, 2 stars. Our party of 4 waited no time for a table. But it took 40 minutes for our breakfast entrees to get to the table. And the real problem was cold pancakes that didn't even melt the butter. 2 plates has cold hash browns. And unfortunately my bacon was probably thrown in a fryer to cook it and had a piece of human hair that was either blonde or gray and between 5 and 8" long entangled in the bacon. The waitress did her best and took the bacon to the kitchen, complained to the kitchen, comped the one plate. While we appreciated the waitress's efforts, the manager should have done something and been involved. read more

I had a really nice piece of Prime Rib here tonight, too bad the service sucked. Came into a nearly empty restaurant and waited 15 minutes for the server. After ordering we didn't see her again for another 15 minutes. I ordered French Onion soup for starters, it didn't arrive until after the entree arrived, which was delivered by a different server than we ordered from in the first place and when I mentioned that I hadn't gotten my soup yet she didn't have a clue about it and went to the kitchen to get it and then when the original server showed back up she tried to blame the other gal for the mistake. When I finally got my soup (which was good btw) and it was brought out by the second waitress who promptly threw the original waitress under the bus. Here's the thing people- I don't care whose fault it is! I just want my soup. I wish you both had been a little bit more professional and refrained from the pettiness. It ruined my experience here and you were tipped accordingly. read more

We recently used Montana Jack's Catering for our wedding and couldn't have been more pleased with the result! We booked them prior to ever tasting their food, but had a great recommendation from my grandfather and as this was a "destination wedding" we had to go based on our gut feeling. They were incredibly helpful with every question imaginable from the beginning. They did accommodate us for a tasting prior to selecting our final menu and we were blown away! Being a bit of a foodie, I had a few ideas of what we wanted going in to the tasting, but on-site I was surprised at how delicious the items recommended were. I am not a Cordon Bleu fan, and it was incredible, I couldn't stop eating it at the tasting so I knew we had to pick that. We did the buffet with the build your own mashed potato bar, the Cordon Bleu and the tri-tip carving station. Our guests were blown away by the food! Everyone raved about how delicious it was, and my groom and I even got to eat!! They set up and tore down seamlessly! The dishes, napkins and utensils included were classy, yet disposable, PERFECT! There is absolutely nothing they could have done better! I was very happy we chose Montana Jacks! read more

Not a very stellar experience. Salad tasted funky and the ranch dressing was warm - luckily I tried it before putting it on the salad. Prime Rib was not very flavorful. Much salt and pepper went jnto making it better. Lastly aluminum foil flakes in the baked potato. After significant effort I was able to get some of the potato. I have zero clue how someone could rate this place 4 or 5 stars. Texas Roadhouse is not too far away and makes a better potato and steak for the same price. read more

To make it even better tried the chorizo sausage gravy which is outstanding. Tried to get the cook to share recipe without success. I will keep coming back for the chorizo sausage gravy. The Best and only place I know of you can find it. They also have a customer point system for discounts and birthday gift. This place reminds me of like a Big Boy that has been re-purposed. I had read an article about how good this place was supposed to be but the food was not great. Like the burger patty seemed previously frozen as did the fries. The best part about this place was the box of toys they had for kids which my daughter loved. I doubt we will go back. read more
