Gave the location another try. My order of a low sodium steak order was done fine. But my companions steak ordered medium rare like mine and got well done. When the steak order was done again, it was replaced with a well seared outside and inside was purple. I am wondering if the person in the back even checked the internal temperature or cooked a pretty much frozen life of meat and hoped the inside would defrost. They offered to recook it and after checking a second recook it was still purple. As a resolution they offered to cook it 3rd time or order something else. The replacement order was the buttermilk chicken. The gravy sauce was over salted. The mash potato was cold and the vegetables appeared to be quick cooked for 20seconds but still raw throughout. It was bad. The chicken appeared to be a soy enhanced chicken. The menu did not disclose to what percent the chicken was actually chicken. As a resolution they offered complementary desserts. The espresso coffee cake was fine but the skillet cookie ice cream was overly sweet. Another thing while clearing the table a server with nail claws picked up the cup of water on the top placing her fingers all over the rim of the cup. Gross. It's cold season. Yuck. While many business establishments have moved to abolish waste generation, this restaurant chain stands out from the rest by producing more waste. Baked beans and coleslaw were served in waxed cardboard cups. The sour cream was served in a plastic cup and the butter was served in a consumer package cup. For some reason this location just stopped using the reusable porcelain cups; its disappointing. Still, I am not able to return to this location with my diabetic companion. The menu still does not accomodate to diabetic people. The menu does not truthfully disclose chicken content on the menu and continues to use soy substitutes chicken products-which is not really chicken. My first time at Montana in Cambridge. We wanted to have some 10z steaks medium rare. My gf ordered the steak with no salt and seasoning and fries no salt and I ordered it as is, medium rare with baked potato. Her steak looked awesome, right amount of juiciness and a nice sear. Cutting in you can see it was cooked with some blood. My steak was a mess. It was dressed with salt and seeds. When I cut inside it was well done. The servers were happy to replace it and came back with a well seared outside but the inside was purple! See the picture. I was offered two options either they cook it a third time or order something else. I ordered the buttermilk chicken. It was okay like KFC but bigger. The vegetable was slightly cooked but still raw. I feel bad for the staff because they really did try hard and provided good service. But the bottom line is that it was really busy and I think some corners ended up getting cut. It was at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. The 7 oz sirloin couldn't have been more than 4 oz. I asked for it cooked medium and it came out pretty dry. My friend's spinach dip appeared to be reheated as it was dry and sticky too. The antojitos were good and the kids had a good time with the activity book. But the quality of the rest of the meal along with the wait time knocked the stars down a bit. For management to consider: more staff during summer rush hours. I think the kitchen would have benefited here too as I suspect several of these dishes weren't made fresh to order. read more

Sept. 26th. This evening I took my wife and 3 friends to Montana's Cambridge for dinner. we all ordered our drinks and 2 appetizers.so far so good. The apps came and were hot and good. The dinner came. 1 shrimp dinner, hot and good. 1 rib and chicken wings good. 2 fish and chips. The fih was not beer battered. something like a shake and bake then deep fried. My wife's dinner was a 7oz steak, baked potato, and shrimp. Medium well for the steak. When it came, something unknown was in place of the shrimp, but the steak looked great. When I told the server that the shrimp was missing and that the "unknown" was not ordered, she took the plate back to the kitchen, 5 minutes later she returned with the plate minus the "unknown item" but added the shrimp. The steak was burnt black well past well done and the shrimp was burnt. The server who took our order went to the back to tell the Manager. We never saw the Manager and our server gave me the bill minus my wife's dinner. Thanks to our server, the Manager, I hope she or her reads this as they need to be trained in customer service. I've been burned by this Montana's before so they will not be getting my patronage ever again nor a recommendation. I'm not from the USA but from Cambridge Ont. read more

DROPPED THE BALL BIGTIME FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD'S BIRTHDAY Montana's Cambridge, Ontario Montana's really blew it bigtime last night and I can't believe its was $90 . I have never wrote a negative review for a restaurant but it was so bad I feel I have too I'd never recommend Montana's to anyone. Honestly we're to even begin my whole section was totally screwed over not just my table. I brought my daughter Maddy there for her 6 th birthday yesterday so we could celebrate on her actual birthday and have a nice dinner and then she could have her party on the weekend with her little friends. we arrived at 6 pm little did I know that it would be almost two hours later we got out of there with the most unprofessional service I've ever seen I have let 24 hours almost go by before writing this and still feel the same way and that I must let others know not to waste thier hard earned money or possibly ruin a special occasion going here. We arrived at 6 pm and waited a minute to be seated by the hostess within about the first 10 minutes the table of about 10 people next to us were being served thier food with various dishes being brought out at different times none matching up the entire table and ours as well as the table on the other side had no cutlery they table of 10 sat waiting for 10 minutes for cutlery with thier food already in front of them the waitress comes and being out one set for 10 people totally not listening to what they asked for then a man came out apologizing after that with the rest I should of known then and left it was only the beginning of the worst dinner experience I have ever had in my 41 years. The waitress came and took our drink orders and at this point and 5 more times through the torture dinner we mentioned it's my daughters birthday... So two beers and a cotton candy drink my daughter wanted we waited 20 minutes for those drinks and still she didn't come back to check or take are food order in the whole 20 minutes when she finally can she took our food order which has to be the simplest meals we ordered for 3 people the kids pizza meal , the beer battered fish and chips and the Cheerios chicken burger meal and a appetizer. We waited not to long for the appetizer to come out still no cutlery for us !!! At this point I had been there for at least 40 mins or more. The table on the other side a family of 4 who came after was was served thier full meals which where messed up we only had a appetizer at this point well you guessed it from arriving at 6 pm we weren't served our food till around 7:20-7:30 pm way after the family of 4 they were in fact pretty much done eating when our food arrived we got our food my daughters pizza was served on top of a bowl of fries not cut and no where to put it I had to ask for a side plate which should of been a given who puts pizza on top of a bowl of fries. I didn't get my gravey I ordered on the side I had to flag a young man down he went to get it and the side plate came back with the plate and said someone took the gravy he had for me so they forgot it originally then went for it again I didn't get I I finally by the time I got the gravey my fires where completely cold. Inbetween all this we placed a second drink order for the same drinks the waitress forgot to place it then 15 min later after placing the drink order she came to ask how we were and we were like where are the drinks she had forgot then she went and placed the order and we got two beers a half hour after that and my daughter got her cotton candy a whole 15 minutes even longer then it took to get the beer well I'd rather she got he drink not me it is her birthday !!! I heard the whole time I was there them come out and sing for one persons birthday even though we informed them no less then 5 times my daughters birthday was no acknowledged ever it was the whole point we brought her so we could sing and celebrate all she got was a Saran Wrap cookie when we got our bill there was no acknowledgement of how ridiculous the service was or trying to make it right . I thank god there was Walmart next door I went and bought a little cake brought her home after two hours of bullshit and sang happy birthday because Montana's really blew it for a kids birthday I was so disgusted how unprofessional the whole night was and not only is literally every table around me had issues we spent $90 for incrediblely bad service mediocre food my daughters pizza wasn't even cooked through and he Cheeto burger had only a drop of sauce on it . We kept it entertaining for my daughter so she was none the wiser no reliving how horrible it actually was literally everything to do with my daughter Montanas was a epic failure I'm glad she was to young to know how bad the experience actually was ! I've been to Montana's before and wasn't blown away but I decided to give it another chance through Just Eat. To say I was unimpressed is an understatement. I got the beef brisket meal, and I ended up throwing most of it away before finishing it. Not only was the loaded baked potato dry and tasteless, the cornbread was hard and dry, and most importantly the beef was essentially like undercooked strips of bacon. I've had good beef brisket before and that wasn't it. My partner had ribs with garlic mashed potatoes, the ribs were tough and lacking meat, and the "mashed" potatoes again were dry and flavourless. I think this was the worst meal I've ever had from a restaurant and refuse to give Montana's any more chances. What a waste of money. Please avoid if you want a good meal. read more

I gave two stars because of the great server. This location is terrible for the brand. The steak was cold dry and bland, served with cold fries. The chicken for the chicken parm was small and overcooked. The dishes seemed empty, 'Where's the food?' went through our minds. The place PACKED , some kind of Buffalo members convention ....... The service was amazing thanks to Jade( who BTW can write her name upside down ....pretty impressive move ) very fast considering the Flintstones Buffalo convention going on . The place was very noisy ,but if I wanted something quiet I would of stay home . Overall the food was ok , we had the potatoes skins as an appetizer while waiting for the main and the timing was perfect. I had the smoked pulled pork sandwich which was ok comes with fries . My g/f had the chicken tacos , again it was ok . My son picked the pastas with butter from the Kid's menu which you can hardly mess up so he liked it . Overall good service ,ok food, not a bad experience at all ,I would go back ! read more

We went in for the all you can eat ribs special. The ribs tasted great and were a good size but they were really fatty poor quality cuts. I still managed to drive down two racks tho, so they must not have been too bad lol Other then that the rest of the food was decent and the service was fine. read more

One star is way to high.....This is the worst possible place to eat. Ordered a medium rare Petite Filet, cook made a mistake and threw on a Top Sirlon and it comes out looking good. "Their Fat Cap" is not that at all. Some fat hiding the silver skin. After a couple cuts into the meat is actually rare, deep purple !! I can tolerate to a degree of rare, but not this one. Asked the manager what he thought the cooked temp was and he said it's the way he orders it, medium rare. I'd never return or eat at this particular Montana's ever again !!! read more

Seems quality control in this restaurant is seriously lacking. My daughters school ordered lunches for the children from the Cambridge location and my daughter didn't finish her lunch so she brought it home. I was pretty distraught when I saw what was in the container. The carrot sticks were still dirty, had green and black spots on them and just looked disgusting. Who knows how many other students ate this! My daughter is 7, shame on this establishment for feeding this to children! Can't imagine what the cooked food is like when carrots can't be cleaned and peeled properly in your kitchen. You should not be allowed to serve food period. Don't eat here, if this is what they serve to kids, I shudder to think what you serve to adults. Makes my stomach churn!! read more

Our first experience wasn't great, waited 35 minutes to sit and then we've been told they are out of ribs!! If we knew head of time, we wouldn't wait for half an hour. We orders steak, it was ok. The waitres was rude and unprofessional, still I paid 15% tip, hope it goes toward all people working there, I don't think she deserve any tip. I won't go there anymore! read more
