Made a 1:40 appointment here for persistent runner's knee. The nurse called me in right at 1:40…read more The x-rays of my knees were done by 2:00. At one point, one nurse came in and asked me to move from the examining table to the chair to be more comfortable while waiting. Supposedly this was at the request of Dr. Mendes. Cool. At another point, a second nurse came in and told me the doctor was running a little behind with other patients and asked if I had anywhere to be. Not sure it would have mattered if I did, but it was still nice of her to ask. Dr. Mendes spent about 5-10 minutes with me and ultimately prescribed me an MRI, which is the outcome I was expecting. Because of the subtlety of my injury, he explained he wasn't really able to diagnose me in the absence of those results. Overall, the staff was courteous, professional, and prompt. My only complaint is that Dr. Mendes acknowledged that his associate, Dr. Chase, was who I should have seen in the first place. Chase specializes in sports and I did specify with the secretary when I made my appointment that I was coming in for a sports-related injury. No Mendes's fault, but still kind of annoying.

This was outrageous since I was in his office for literally 5 minutes at time. Nothing was done at his office outside of just reviewing the X-rays. When I received the bill, I went to his office to try to set up a payment plan though I did not think the charges were fair. His secretary laughed in my face and told me he does not do that and wished me good luck. He took me to court because I could not pay him the lump sum he requested and was unwilling to work with me. Surgery went extremely well and he told me they found that the meniscus was intact but out of place. Post-op, Dr. Lee and his staff have been so helpful. I also want to highlight their nurse, Dawn. I was referred to Dr. Albano from the Hudson Regional Hospital ER. 11.30a: The time my appointment was scheduled for. 11.15a: Showed up to fill out paperwork; waiting room was very warm. 12.29p: A/C finally turned on in waiting room. 12.31p: Was finally brought back to the exam room. 12.40-50p: Overheard one very loud employee (doctor?) who sounds like an C19 anti-vax regulations person (based on his conversation), and was also calling Alec Baldwin an asshole who probably shot and killed the cinematographer on purpose because, "how else would they get two live rounds in there?" (re: accidental shooting with prop gun). 12.57p: Was told, "Dr. Albano will be right in, alright". 1.00p: Apparently all exams are done with doors wide open because I hear doctors and nurses having clear conversations with patients. And the door to my exam room has been open since I was brought back 30 minutes ago. 1.13p: "I had the [C19] virus, it was just like the flu...I was on Albuterol." - same loud employee as before. 1.18p: Was asked if ER referred me to Vizzone or Albano. 1.20p: Doctor finally saw me. There is a parking lot in the back so that shouldn't be a problem. Her appointment was for 4 o'clock, we didn't get taken in until 5 and were seen around 5:30 but the doctor more than made up for the time we waited. She's had knee pain for a long time and was told many years ago she would need knee replacements. Dr. Femino said that'll only be the case when she's much much older. It was such a relief to hear a doctor not automatically push for a serious surgery. They really do focus on a conservative approach here. It's so refreshing. Not to mention, it's a beautiful office. The staff is friendly and approachable. I would definitely recommend these doctors to anyone suffering any type of leg/foot pain.
