After a less than positive first experience, the second one was significantly better. The director called me after I emailed about the first experience, and she said she wanted my daughter to have a better experience before deciding on whether or not we would continue. She didn't want my daughter to have any bad feelings about skating or the rink. She offered to work one:one with my daughter at a quieter time, and it was amazing. Ms. Michelle was a perfect fit for my daughter, who couldn't help but have a good time. I also got to spend time talking with Deanna, the other director, who is also another lovely human. We will now go back thanks to this outstanding leadership team.

I don't know where to begin! First I would like to say if I could give 10 stars I would!! I just had my step daughters 7th Birthday party here! The staff was phenomenal!! Kelsey was our host and she was perfect!! My main focus was Andrea! She put our whole party together! From time to character to food , decorations and cake! Everything was perfect! She was beyond understanding of our situation! She was not bothered by our 101 questions at all! Our party had over 15 kids and they all had a BLAST!!! Thanks to all the staff at Floyd Hall Arena for making a very uncomfortable situation very comfortable!! Looking forward to our next party with you!!

Disgusting. Mean employées gross locker rooms and benches. It might be fun if you're a skater but for hockey, not at all.

I think Deana's great attribute is her love of skating which is evident in her patience and her love of passing on her knowledge of skating to her student.

For starters…read moreparking is a bit confusing, it looks like you're parking at a train station but it's shared with the rink. If you drive on a narrow paved road along side the ice rink you've gone too far(do not park on path, you will be ticketed or towed)! You have to park in lot and walk over to the arena. Once you're in check is usually quick. Put on your skates and get to skating! The rink is standard size, a bit old but has great "bones." During the week it's pretty quiet, nice to skate semi-alone. Don't forget to check the website for their schedule, they're not always open. Also calling can be a bit tough with the automated thing. This place does private parties and birthdays. I think this would be great for a kids birthday party! Have fun and Good luck skating and enjoy your visit! *please vote below if you enjoyed my review*

There is a small refreshment stand located inside though I didn't try it. There is a good mix of people who know how to skate and beginners.....there were always staff on the ice. Looks like they have a lot of ice hockey league games so you need to know that before going to skate since there is only one rink. The parking lot is located sorta behind the rink near a park. A nice place to go to skate if your located in the area.

There is a small room before entering the rink with a few tables to sit down at and put your skates on. It becomes very crowded at the end of public skating hours as everyone is in the same area and there aren't many seats so it may be easier to exit the rink a few minutes before the public skating hours end. There are also a few open cubbies to store your belongings in. You need to make an account online in order to use the rink which can be done beforehand or in person with the QR code at the front desk. The ice rink also offers classes for children and adults.

And I found…read morethis one to have a more reasonable price point at $15 per skating session which includes skate rentals. The skating session is a bit tricky, it can range from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours but you would always know in advance upon online signup. The public skating session is available for registration online. As with any skating place, the skates that everyone uses are no good, always good to invest in a pair, more comfortable and won't ruin the experience. It's one hockey size rink with no lockers. They have cubbies to put your shoes and might fit a really small bag. They have vending machines at reasonable prices. Parking lot has a lot of spaces but apparently it does fill up quick. The place is very very very very old, but that didn't matter to me because the rink is good and the ice is not bad, works for the purpose.

I felt like going on a last minute adventure from Philadelphia and decided to drive up to have some fun! I got there shortly before 6pm, the ice rink was to close at 9pm, at the time, so I had 3 hours on the rink instead of 2. PARKING There are many parking lots, but for the ice skating rink, the amusement park, waterpark, lego land etc. I would recommend park in lot B and C. This lot is closest to these attractions. Otherwise, if you park in parking deck A you have to walk for and it gets really confusing like a maze! You can map your gps directly to parking deck B or C on Google Maps, Apple Maps, and more. Parking is $5 on a regular day. $40 on an event day, BUT if you do an experience like ice skating get your parking ticket validated at the desk and it will bring your parking ticket back down to $5. Don't leave your parking ticket in the car!! Too many people do this! You need to pay for parking before you leave, and although there are many different ways to pay it's just easier and faster with the many kiosks inside. You have 25 minutes from the time you pay for your parking ticket to exit the parking lot, if you need more time, I would suggest paying for your parking ticket via your phone by scanning the QR code with your camera and using Apple Pay or GPay to pay for it. PRICE The price of a ticket is cheaper online than it is in person. You don't have to buy it in advance, but even if you get there, buy it through your phone. RENTALS The rentals are a size bigger than regular shoe size, but you can exchange ice skate sizes if they feel too tight or too loose. They are also plastic and don't the best quality. I still was able to ride just fine despite that. They clean it decently, but bring your own socks FOR SURE. LOCKERS I put my shoes & my bag into a locker which is $5, paid via card (debit or credit). I wouldn't recommend leaving your stuff out in the open. If someone steals your stuff, that's on you and not the people who work here. There's a lot of variables around here, and I wouldn't trust to leave your shoes or items just laying around! You process your payment at the locker section. It has its own kiosk. It chooses the locker for you, but you get to choose your own pass code to later re-open your locker. Once you close the locker you cannot open it again. If you do, then you end up paying for a locker again, an additional $5. So make sure you're only doing it once. TIME ON THE ICE You usually get about 2 hours on the ice per session purchase. Because I bought my ticket shortly before 6pm, and they were closing at 9pm, I was able to have 3 hours to ride instead of 2. Although 2 hours is more than enough. You'll get thirsty and hungry, it's a great exercise. CLOTHING You're not going to get cold. If you're going to stand in one spot or sit in the sidelines, you will. But if you're moving around and trying to skate, you're going to get hot. That's why I'm in shorts. I already know myself. I get very hot very quickly. Also if you fall a lot, you may want to cover up, ice burn is a thing. But because I snowboard my balance is great so I didn't fall at all. QUICK TIPS - I would recommend bring like starburst or something to pop into your mouth when you get thirsty during your 2 hour session. It helps keep your mouth salivated for long periods of time. - I wouldn't recommend riding with a bag larger than a fanny pack. - Bring some headphones and listen to music even as a beginner. If you concentrate on something else you'll actually put your focus elsewhere and actually be able to enjoy and learn how to skate. I did the same thing when I was learning to snowboard. I used a stress ball to stimulate my brain when learning to ride, which helped remove the focus from the task at hand. - Be aware of your surroundings at all times. OVERALL I had a good time ice skating here! I would do it again at some point for sure! It's an indoor ice skating rink, I wasn't expecting a luxury experience. It is good for fun, but definitely know what to expect before you go. Don't have high expectations, and just let yourself have some fun.
