I had an amazing morning visiting the lavender fields here. I had heard of them through Sonoma County Farm Trails and then followed them on social media for updates on their "high bloom" lavender season. Following their posts is a good way, in addition to the website to get details on ticketed entry, status of the fields and other openings they might have through the year. It's how I found out they'd have an extra opened day on Monday July 3rd. I took the day off and was able to enjoy the fields, crowd free. They do limit the number of visitors and set a 75 timed entry window. You do a complete loop around the fields, but not walk through the rows or have any u-pick opportunities. The location up on a hillside with sweeping views guarantees you a gorgeous shot no matter where you're standing. The folks checking visitors in and running the farm stand were very nice and welcoming. I purchased some lavender honey and lavender scrub from their on-site store. I sampled their lavender essential oil as well-something they are very proud of! It was wonderful. A short tour is offered as part of your admission but I opted out. I didn't think I'd spend the entire time window here but did! Very peaceful and beautiful place. You can also bring a picnic lunch and they have some tables over by a small pond. Beautiful lavender farm tucked in the heart of Sonoma valley. My family and I had ample time to walk the farm. Kudos to everyone managing it- it's organized with specific places to stand for photos. I feel like I am seeing a big flower field in Japan. It's a beautiful landscape, especially during the windy weather in late June. The entrance fee is $25, but it's definitely worth it. You can even wear a dress for some great photos. The tour guide will take you to see the garden, bee hive, and shop. There's also a hill thats easy to hike and only takes 5 minutes to reach the top. If you love flowers like me I recommend you visit this place!! Light purple color everywhere. This place is close to Santa Rosa CA. It is a private lavender fields and they let people visit and take pictures. You can't go in the field rows but they have walking trails to go around and admire and take in the beautiful sight. This place is open to the public in blooming season. That is June 30 to August 30. You will have 75 min to stay there and visit the store. You can't picked the lavender flowers but they have fresh bouquets for sale. They also have all products derived from the lavender, like oils, teas, candles, chapstick, rock soap, olive oil, honey, and little lavender plants. So I got a plant of course, a bouquet, and a box of tea packets. I asked them if I could make tea from the bouquet and they told me "yes you can, but use very little because it is very strong." I really loved the visit, and the drive there too!! So peaceful and Beautiful!! I forgot one important thing about this place. You have to get tickets on line because they get sold out very quick. Monte-Bellaria is a beautiful lavender farm out in Sebastopol. We had an hour here with our timed tickets which includes a guided tour by Eric the manager. This is a place to enjoy nature, take in the smell of lavender, watch the bees work or perhaps enjoy a picnic by the pond. During the tour I was able to learn how they extract and make lavender oil as well as learn about the life cycle of lavender plants. They also make honey and olive oil here. Before we left, we stopped by the gift shop to pick up some goodies of dried lavender bunch, honey, lavender sachets, lavender essential oils and beeswax lip balm. Can't wait to try the honey with tea later! As someone who suffers from anxiety, I placed the lavender sachet right by my bedside and the scent is so calming! The host was quick and informative about the 9 acre lavender grounds and gave us plenty of information about the place, the types of lavender, the process and even the bees that surround the area. We also reserved the private picnic area where we were able to enjoy the food and drinks that we brought along with us. There seem to be separate picnic tables for use if you were not able to reserve the private area. I was able to speak to the owner of the property for a couple of minutes which was cool. I do recommend coming here but maybe a couple weeks before we did our tour so that you can see the lighter shade of purple in the lavender. read more

My one star is left solely for the dude who was manning the parking lot and wore a cowboy hat: When we arrived on the property, there were no signs on where to go, so we drove to the parking lot where we met the cowboy who greeted us with: "wow you just blew right past the check in didn't you?" No greeting or explanation, just the start of a weird rant full of snide remarks. Baffled and feeling like we had intruded on him, we drove back towards the entrance. Once we got near the house we saw two people who had not been there when we'd first driven by, otherwise we would have stopped (there's no sign whatsoever). After checking in we drove back to the parking lot, where a young lady greeted me and told me the one rule they have: "don't step between the rows". I thanked her and drove on to park my car. At this point I noticed the Cowboy following my car to the parking lot. He waited right next to my car and when when I finally got out, he immediately berated me about "knowing the rules" and "driving away while the girl was still talking"; I didn't drive away while she was talking, and there was no reason to follow me just to repeat this one rule. His demeaning attitude and persistent condescension was in stark contrast to everyone else there. From the the moment he first saw us three Asian women he went out of his way to be condescending. I don't know if it was race, or he was having a bad morning, or maybe he just didn't like my face, but we felt so unwelcome that we left quickly. I would like to clarify that the Lavender field itself was beautiful and worth a visit. We bought tickets for a Sunday a month in advance and only about 5 cars were allowed in for our time slot. They controlled headcount so everyone could get great photos which was appreciated. We met both of the owners, who were fun to talk to and the little shop of lavender products was adorable and stocked with interesting finds. read more

My friend and I came here just over the weekend. It was still a bit early to see the full bloom but nevertheless, the fields of lavender were really lovely. When the wind blows, the rolling lavender bushes move and sway creating a kind of hypnotic symphony. Gorgeous Lavender fields and the smell of the Lavender is so fragrant that I wish I could scratch and sniff my photos. I was invited here by my good friends for a picnic back in June where we had a great time, but the lavender has not yet bloomed. The owner, I think his name is Bill, let us know that the Lavender will be in full bloom in July, so we came back today to enjoy the Lavenders High Bloom season. It did not disappoint as the Lavender fields were a vision of purple and green with such a beautiful scent. We reserved the private picnic area both times and it was a very tranquil and relaxing visit. The kids had a wonderful time and the adults did not have to worry about social distancing as this area is a private area for those that reserved it. With the reservation of the picnic area, we were given access to roam the gardens and take plenty of pictures. Note: You need a ticket to enter. *Check their website for ticket reservation and picnic reservations. They have 3 seasons for the Lavender fields. *The reservation times for the picnic area gets snatched up fast as there is only 2 reservation times a day and is weekends only. was worry about the drought problem and its effect on the bloom, but it was absolutely beautiful and the place is filled with mild fragrance of lavender. the farm shop was small but it has quality products. i got some bitters and soap as gifts and for personal use. they are very strict on starting and ending on time, so please do yourself a favor and get there early, u would rather wait in the car or walk around before getting into the field than only have a few minutes to take everything in. Another photo tip/hack i observed was that get a bundle of lavender at the shop as prop to take photo! i wish i did that before i took my round and took all the beautiful pictures. highly recommend this place, would like to visit there again! read more

Visited Monte-Bellaria with the gf, Amy T. on a three-year anniversary date around the end of July, and loved the experience. With shelter in place and social distancing in effect, they do a good job of managing online reservations, outlining the safety protocols, and remaining open to folks that want to see and smell some lovely lavender fields. Each ticket gives you about an hour, and there's an optional short guided tour where you can find out more about the space and how Monte-Bellaria came to be, as well as how they make some of their products - I would recommend taking the time to do the tour since knowing more about it makes it more meaningful, I feel. There are some great pictures spots, but note that you can't actually go between the rows of the lavenders, but rather on the side. They have some areas where you can stand and take photos - luckily with the limited numbers it doesn't get too crowded for you to get some good pics. Would also recommend checking out the small shop where you can buy lavender bundles and other products. Props to my partner, Amy T. for suggesting, as well as the polite staff at Monte-Bellaria. We had such a lovely time visiting these gorgeous lavender fields! Of course, the photos won't do justice in describing the feeling of being in this place and smelling the lavender's calming fragrance. We were so glad we visited right when the lavender was in high bloom season. The owner, Bill, was very nice in taking the time to explain about the history of the farm, and why the type of lavender grown there is different, which is why it's still in bloom in July and provides a beautiful scent. He also mentioned that August is when the most fragrance will fill the lavender fields. This place has a very relaxing vibe because it's not crowded. It's a ticketing and slot system so each group has its own time to enjoy the field and its rows and rows of sweet lavender blooms. You do need to observe their strict rules though, as they have signs noting that you're not allowed to walk through the rows due to bees and other hazards. However, you are still able to take beautiful photos with this backdrop. My advice is to also take time to visit their little shop. Although it's small, they have a high quality lavender products that we could tell the owner is very proud of. It's great to be able to support small businesses like this one! read more

And if *every single one* of your party stays on the good side of their belligerent staff by following *every single one* of their rules, to the T, then maybe you'll have a great time, like 91% of the guests on yelp. But if you break a rule, either on purpose or by accident, you'll face rude, argumentative, escalatory harassment by their employee AND by their management. To call this treatment of your former customers "unprofessional" would be putting it lightly. "Borderline criminal", and "a lawsuit waiting to happen", would be much more appropriate. YES YES YES - we broke your rules! We did! We admit it! We're even sorry! Came out here to find that lavender season blooming time is in June/July and you need to book in advance online at their web-site- 20 person capacity so you select date and time. I met farmer Bill the owner of the lavender farm who met us when we arrived and gave me an introduction and tips on lavender plants. Very nice man. Good size lavender farm with lots of lavender plants so it will be fantastic during bloom time. Can't wait! read more

This is my third year in a row to visit during high bloom season. Each year I bring a friends. Everyone is in awe with the fields, the people and the products. The Monte-Bellaria Lavender Sea Salt Scrub and Lavender Body Butter are a must. (4 and a half stars) I paid $5 for "VIP service" (no not really) and I am never VIP even when I pay to be! lol I love, first of all, that they organized it so only 25 people can come in at a time. Bill said other lavender farms were bombarded with ppl because of this lack of organization hence the prepaid tickets. Thanks to this lack of wanting to completely profit off of everyone, I was able to have a relaxing afternoon, filled with bees and fresh lavender. Speaking of Mr. Bill, (who speaks German, some Italian and Swedish for anyone who needs translation) he greeted me (and everyone else who was approaching) with extreme warmth as I approached the little shop while I waited for the next tour that started at 1pm. Bill and Denise told my husband and I that we could walk up hill and explore a bit. My husband is French and I spent some time in Paris with him. I would sometimes go down to Vaucluse where his family is from and pass by the gorgeous lavender fields but never got to play in it. Well, here my dreams came true (but you know, more around it because respect)! I immediately forgot where I was and was transported back to France when I saw the abundance of lavender that surrounded me. Bill was extremely knowledgeable about everything. He was so patient and never annoyed. He even brought us to the back to taste their spicy olive oil while we were waiting. (We didn't wait long and everything was on time. We were definitely given the right amount of time to roam and take photos before the tour which is perfect for the kind of visitors we are). No one ever pushed on us to buy anything, which differs greatly from the wine tasting experience and their damn memberships where you must act interested in order to be treated decently but here it just seemed like everyone was very genuine and honestly that damn fresh lavender sells itself! Eric spoke a bit about the lavender, (no big hiking involved) its harvesting then brought us to see the bees and told us more about bee culture and I left wanting to be reincarnated as a queen bee when I come back into the next life. Denise then aided me with my voluntary $15 fresh lavender bundle (a steal). She made sure I got the right amount and then wrapped it beautifully. I got some lavender honey on the way out. I suppose the only thing I didn't like was the road there (which they're not responsible for) which was bumpy. There's not much to do here so you're kind of just in and out but the design is made to be like that, again circulation people; keep it moving! lol Anyway I'm just trying to find something I can criticize so yelp doesn't filter me! :) This place is run by a wonderful group of people, very well organized and well informed. Today (Saturday, July 23rd, 2022) was my annual visit to the best lavender farm It was perfect. I booked two-time slots, 10-11:15, to enjoy the farm, experience the tour, and create content for myself, and my second time from 11:30-12:45 to work with my models. I had such a fantastic time. I loved connecting with Eric - the manager he is kind, respectful, and helpful. Bill - the owner, was thoughtful, kind, and sweet. Carlos - the young man who checked us in, was thorough, kind, and understanding. Sadly I did not introduce myself to the wonderful young lady wrapping the beautiful Bouquet of lavenders - she was joyful, calm, lovely, and helpful. Be respectful of the farm rules, enjoy the wildlife and embrace vibrant lavender color. Please note that you might not experience a high lavender fragrance as it is not that time of the season, but it does smell beautiful. Enjoy the lovely shop and buy some yummy lavender-infused Jam, Honey, Olive Oil, Vinaigrettes, and much more. Bring water, sunglass, sunscreen, and a hat. It's warm out there. We found this place in Sebastopol Living, what a pleasure! A much needed break from Saturday chores to walk among lavender fields that dance in the wind and envelop you with relaxation. The tour was well worth the five dollars. We learned so much about lavender, bees and the local ecology. The owner and tour guide were both gracious and knowledgeable. This place is a treasure that gives back to the county. Don't leave without buying lavender hydrosol, you will never sleep the same again. This place is way overpriced and way overrated. Customer service is the worst I've ever encountered. We are from SF and travelled almost 4 hours due to traffic constraints. Just to be clear we are not entirely people. We never even talk back to the rude guy. They only let us stay for 15 minutes. We didn't mind staying 15 minutes. No sign was posted that you can't get in into the lavender rows. And when we did one of the worker yelled at us that he already informed us 3x and if we do it again he would kick us out and our 5 minutes is over. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE EVER. I bet there are more worthy Lavender Farms to visit! $22 is way too much to pay for an ordinary farm!!! read more

One of the most beautiful place in Northern California, all staff and managers are very nice and friendly. I am so glad this place is by appointment only which limits to only few parties in the field for safety and fully enjoy the hour to explore and take pictures at your leisure. Forgot to suggest to store manager it will hit big time to sell Lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream. This 9 acres field is full of Grosso lavender, olive trees etc. We paid $5 per person for an approximately 30 mins tour, ample parking space. Eric, the tour guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. Went on a tour led by Eric for Farm Trails. Eric was very knowledgeable and piqued my interest in the behavior of bees to the point that I will add a unit on bees to my high school teaching curriculum this year because of what I learned from him. The shop has olive oil, lavender products, and local glass art. There was also a three ingredient soap that looked interesting. I was offered a lavender shortbread treat that was very buttery and fresh. I would have purchased the shortbread had it been an option. I purchased a very nice lip balm, olive oil that I have not tried yet, and an amazing honey. The honey is so rich and flavorful! It is so good I won't dare to dilute it in tea. Alaska doesn't grow Lavender and it's very expensive to ship but my daughter is from California and she wanted some in her bouquet. When Bill got my email he immediately responded and had me come by with three beautiful dried bouquets in hand to give to me. Great find online, in things to do "Santa Rosa". I wanted to do a maternity photos. I bought tickets online and thought I forgot to buy my photographers ticket. (not knowing it went through). I messaged and got a reply back from Bill. Awesome communication, which I really appreciate. I'm sure he's very busy. We drove there and had to wait in the car until ready for out time at the field. I had to use the restroom , waited 15 minutes. When we pulled in I jumped out the car to asked if I can use the restroom real quick before he started giving out instructions. He said "No", at first then notice my belly and said, "Go head". Lol. When I came out it was so beautiful. Not many people, just the 25. You can hear the bees, birds, & wind. It's very relaxing, calming. They have many benches to take photos and a platform to make it appear as if your in the Lavender Field. My partner and I sat down outside the store a very nice gentleman asked "Are you Erikka"? I said, "Yes, are you Bill? That made me feel special. He knew my name and remembered I was coming to take photos. We talked for a bit, Bill said just wait, he came out of the store with a bundle of lavender flowers. They smelled so refreshing. Monte-Bellaria stands apart from other lavender farms not only in size, but also attention to detail and friendliness when it comes to your visit. If you arrive early you can chat with the owner or walk around the fields and take photos. You have the option of a complementary olive oil tasting after the conclusion of the tour (only recommended if you are okay with tasting/practically drinking olive oil on its own). Misc: - The lavender fields are there for the bees, so this is a place to avoid if you are allergic - I had poor reception on the way to Monte-Bellaria (through AT&T), so pre-load your directions! - Admission is $5 per person and guests are limited to 25 per hour. They both are very charming, polite, passionate for their work and have BIG hearts. I originally bought 3 tickets but my third guest couldn't make the trip.. I didn't expect money back nor did I ask for it. But, Bill told me he would refund the $5. Nice! The tour is a short educational talk about the history of the farm and how the bees and lavender grow and thrive. My almost 2 year old came along as she LOVES bees.. and she loved it. The olive oil was soft and mildly spicey.. not sure what word to use, I loved it and the honey well, I am enjoying it now and of course my clothes drawers are smelling great with the new lavender sachets.
