But the real reason you should shop there is because yesterday when the person who was supposed to drop my groceries had an emergency and couldn't bring them. I was recovering from abdominal cancer surgery so I couldn't go myself. Anthony, one of the owners I believe, offered to drop them off. He came right after work. Never event brought up a service or delivery fee. It's a 5-7 min drive for him but the gesture, for me, is reason enough to shop there as often as I can.

Raymond's bakery is the most popular stand for good reason. I'm a huge sourdough fan but Raymond's is softer and less sour but still delicious. While Dear Hubby and I were in Sonoma County for a quick trip, we had free time on Sunday to get out into the backroads and check out a few apple farms. Hale's is close to Santa Rosa, which made it convenient. They were decked out for Halloween, with various areas sporting giant spider figures, scarecrows, skeletons, and much more. Autumn décor, including pumpkins and apples were definitely part of the scene. Adjacent to their barn they had a station set up with very helpful staff offering samples of various varieties of apples. I loved that they had a number of the favorites I've experienced in SoCal's apple haven of Oak Glen (near Yucaipa). Yes, to Mutsu! Cameo! They also had others that I hadn't heard of, and already can't recall their names. Oh good, I found a chart online - Northern Spy is one I tried and bought. Sundance, maybe? Yikes! Hale's claims to grow 30 different varieties, and good for them. Good for you! An apple a day keeps the doctor away, as the old saying goes. No doctors for me for now - I'm enjoying usually one apple for breakfast and one for lunch. Hale's has kept me going for two weeks now. We especially enjoyed taking in their ambiance with my brother and sister-in-law, who live nearby, but hadn't been before. A great place to visit with family! If you're in the area, stop on by and enjoy the fresh air, the friendly folks helping you taste and purchase the goodness of Sonoma County fruit.

The tri tip tasted like it was cooked in the microwave - absolutely zero char and the meat was a pale gray color. If I didn't order tri-tip, I would have thought it was diced pork loin cooked in a strange tomato sauce, thrown onto a dry roll. The sandwich was slightly under room temp to the touch The plate was unfortunately not better. The pork ribs as described before me also had 0 char and were covered in a dry (?) rub with the consistency of damp bread crumbs. The taste was okay, but the execution just so not hitting the mark. Beans tasted like they were simmered in tomato paste, and the Mac n cheese had split and it was mostly grease on top of a strange cheese/macaroni conglomerate. The cornbread tasted like corn tortillas that had sat in a moist prep container for hours on end -bland, slightly musty, and also mushy. Andy's is an awesome market but boy oh boy is this BBQ stand not it. Maybe it was super good at one time but what I experienced is not something I would have eaten for free, yet alone the $40ish I spent to toss into the trash shorty after. The guy working the stand was nice and friendly at least. But please do better or don't at all, it's not fair to charge this much for food this low of quality.

We finally found this place and were so excited to try it! It was my first visit to the area and it was absolutely gorgeous to drive out there. The orchard is lovely and the staff are so kind, attentive and informative. I called ahead to check that they have parking on site and that helped alot! When you get there staff helps with parking and then you go get the U pick supplies and make your way to the orchard. The green apples were limited but we found alot of red ones. The experience was fabulous! After picking we paid for the apples and got some fresh organic apple slushies along with some sweet treats! Absolutely 10/10 We enjoyed this in the orchard and it was really charming! Highly recommend this specially with kids! Note- They have bathrooms on site and you can pay with cash or card to get the apples.

Jim could probably sell anything, but that's because he's genuinely passionate about what he does. He curates only the very best, though truthfully, the produce and goods largely sell themselves. What sets this place apart is the care behind it. The attention, the pride, the hospitality - all the things that feel like they're are waning from our country. We've become so accustomed to transactional experiences and mediocre service that they've almost become the norm. Then you encounter a place like this and realize what you've been missing. It's like waking up from a fever dream and wondering, "Why isn't everything this good?" I now drive from Sebastopol to visit The Farm Stand regularly. Not just for the incredible food, but for the experience itself. It's a reminder that places built with intention, passion, and genuine human connection still exist. I should have known better when he didn't weigh the watermelon at all ($2.5/lb) and just put both of them in a bag. Then he said they were $12 each! I also should have picked up on all the red flags in front of me: most of the fruit didn't have listed prices. And when I asked what the prices of the mangoes or apples were, he (arbitrarily) gave me a price quote. PEOPLE BE CAREFUL! Make sure your produce is weighed at the cash register. And ask for prices BEFORE you start selecting your produce. Especially if you are merely driving through from out of town. Karma will get back at these dishonest salespeople. PS. I didn't question his prices at the cash register because I felt embarrassed, especially with several people waiting in line behind me. FYI: $68 total for: 2 mini watermelons (3.5 lbs ea) which he DID NOT WEIGH AT ALL 2 small strawberry baskets 2 apples (no listed price) 2 broccoli crowns 3 mangoes (no listed price) $68 Fking Dollars!!
