Wandering through downtown Sebastopol led me to Milk & Honey on a chill Saturday afternoon. They had a lovely window display that drew me in with their unique crystals and statues. Inside, they also featured books, jewelry, candles and essential oils (and much more.) Nice shop to browse. I didn't look at any prices, so can't speak for that. Very cool shop with nice staff greeting you and seeing what you're looking for. In my case, just enjoying the displays. Really nice layout and selections. i came here with my sisters since my older sister moved here recently. the wonderful person working there greeted us and the environment felt so welcoming and smelt so good. they were playing some fleetwood mac and that was an automatic green flag. when i go back up to visit again im definitely taking my friends!!! the crystals i purchased were still less than $10 total so it's really affordable!!! read more

This shop is amazinggg! The diversity of their products is unlike any other similar shop I've been to, and the selection of books was particularly impressive. I could have spent hours here. 4 1/2 Stars I first discovered Milk & Honey store in 2007 while accompanying a friend who was going there in Sebastopol. There was clothing, jewelry, and items that mostly only women like, but there was also beautiful art, small figurines, artisan candles, and spiritually oriented books. I bought a hand painted wall piece my first visit. Subsequent visits over the next year or two was to bring my girlfriend to buy her gifts. She loved some of the clothes as they were made from natural fibers, some fairly locally, and many had spiritually accented designs. After that relationship ended, I did not come back for another two years. It was in late 2010 that I stumbled back into Milk & Honey when meeting up with a new friend I met in my Divorce Support group who lived in Sebastopol. It seemed like I lived a lifetime in those interim two years. During that time Milk & Honey changed owners and completely changed the floor plan of the store. There was much more art on the walls like a gallery, and there was now a Goddess Lounge Cafe that served incredible Botanical Elixirs that have to be tasted to be believed! That first year, 2010 to 2011, with my separation and divorce of my wife, was the worst of my entire lifetime. I became so despondent that I was officially and medically disabled. Sometimes the only activity of my day was to make it over to Milk & Honey to drink my elixirs and talk with Alyssa (the owner). The Lounge area has a beauty and peacefulness that brought me great comfort. That combined with the elixirs, the beautiful paintings displayed everywhere, the intrinsic beauty of the store and merchandise, and most of all, the compassion of Alyssa made me feel I was receiving healing directly from God/Goddess there. Now, 2012, I am doing increasingly better and still go to Milk & Honey for the occasional elixir. I did recently buy a beautiful small painting by Shiloh Sophia McCloud there and whose paintings are everywhere in Milk & Honey. As Alyssa is now a new mother, you would be very lucky indeed to see her at the store. Though every employee that I've met there is charming and beautiful too. They are not willing to educate their customers, which reflects extremely poorly on their own understanding of what they are selling. I love every part of this store! The person helping us was exceptionally nice and understanding. They had very well priced ritual candles that you can make yourself, and they had a good range of materials to use for the candle as well. The store had a very nice selection of crystals, and their properties were listed alongside the price. They also have a good range of incense, and this was the first place I've found with reasonably priced metal incense burners. This store also had a very inclusive selection of tarot decks and deity statues. 100/10, I'd come here all the time if I lived here. read more

Overpriced - Classic tall candles in glass in varied colors are priced at $6.95 (find them for $1.99 MAX anywhere else) and Rider Taro decks are upwards of $26 (find them on Amazon for $17). Intrusive - Employee tailed me around the store explaining items/prices I had no interest in and asked several times what I would be doing with my purchase, going into a tirade about intentions during my ritual. I didn't ask her opinion nor did I feel it was any of her business. Hustle - Employee asked several times if I would like a reading from a reader named Polly, who she also brought into the one-sided conversation about what I would be doing with the items I purchased. This store is so Sebastopol. From the herbal elixers to the 'love your vagina' books and even handmade feather earrings you won't see anything more sebastopolian. They have huge bowls of glitter here which I always must dip my fingers into because....glitter. The earrings here always pull me in when walking on the street. I've been shopping at Milk and Honey for 8 years and love it! The shop has a great vibe - super calm, friendly and available staff who are knowledgable about the products sold without being pushy. The new owners have brought in a lot of new products from local vendors. I used to mainly just buy jewelry there, but now there are tons of handmade bath and self care products, custom candles, art work by one of my favorite local artists, along with the standard books, journals, and jewelry that the previous owner stocked. And the events! There are lots of great classes and gatherings going on, from tarot to women's entrepreneurship. I'm super pleased with the direction of the new store and hope to see it thrive for 20 more years! read more

I love this local store! It's always been a great treat to go to M/H, all these years; and even moreso with Pheonix taking the reigns. Their artisans and vendors are enviable and I have yet to enter this store without making a purchase and pinching my pocket. I actually have to plan my visits, so I don't over spend it's that easy. Their "erotica" chest is pretty tame (and not that well-endowed) They have lovely cards from an artist from nearby Cazadero who participates in Sebastopol's Goddess Crafts Faire in December. My bestie & I wandered in to this shop yesterday and we just knew... The second you cross the threshhold, you begin to feel more at peace. A goddess-invoking, women-centric space that smells pretty, is lit oh-so-dreamily, and is staffed by the sweetest lady ever. I bought many trinkets & treasures, but the thing I am the most excited about is definitely my new PaPaYa! journal. I've already filled several pages because the journal itself is so creatively inspiring! I literally could have spent the entire afternoon in that store and taken home everything!! The super-soft clothing (kind of bohemian/ yoga-ish) is really beautiful too. Amazing art and loads of books, candles, incense, etc round out the retail offerings. They have recently opened up a separate lounge area that would be such a wonderful space to sit with a friend, sip a tea, and catch up/relax. I think they serve coffee too! This store is one of the reasons I keep thinking I need to move to Sebastopol. LOVE IT!! Whether you are a straight, a lesbian, something in between, on a weekend with you mom or a ladies trip to wine country, YOU SHOULD check this place out. I think some guys will love it too. A store that one can safely say is devoted to the goddess (which one, I don't know). Some nice clothes, leaning towards the hippie/yoga set, some lovely jewelry, some hideous jewelry, and a lot of statues of Tara and Ganesha and Kwan Yin. Always smells like incense. read more

Such a neat store. Beautifully arranged and so much to look at. I think we spent at least 30min there, and could have spent more! Lots of goddess goodies. Nice little selection of books, cloths, & art. They even had free tea and couches. I just wish everything wasn't so expensive! We also had our kids with us and I think they were pretty happy when we left. They had a kids area with toys but one of the ladies working there was very worried about the kids touching things. They weren't being careless, just wanted to look at stuff... Other than that, my experience here was pretty good and I would absolutely come back.. just maybe without the kiddos read more

I love this place, I used to frequent here in the late 90's, I had not been for years. Recently went back and new owner has bought in some lovely new items, giving the place a different lovely flair.
