8th grade graduating class 2021-2022 Ceremony in chapel
    Darlene F.

My 13 year old daughter recently graduated from MCS. She has not only thrived academically but, has grown in her faith for our Lord Jesus Christ. She was salutatorian for her 8th grade graduating class. I could not have been more proud of her on that day. Her speech was so impactful as she delivered it with such poise and grace. She was absolutely glowing with happiness, love for her school, teachers, staff, admin, pastor, and fellow classmates. This school became her family by the nurturing environment that surrounded her since kindergarten. My 7 year old daughter is now entering 2nd grade. Today was her 1st day of school. It is amazing to see how this school has evolved; campus renovations, newly painted campus, new asphalt, advancements in technology, and so much more. We are so blessed to have our daughter in an environment where she is safe and well take care of.

Every time I pick up my daughter she is smiling and laughing and playing with the other children. The school is optimal child Safety (e.g key fob entry, cameras, great play structures, near major hospitals, easy access off of freeway). They have great indoor and outdoor playgrounds, and they offer lunch and potty training. Bonus- they also have extracurriculars AT the school- dance, gymnastics, soccer, phys ed, spanish class Mrs. Quiyanna the director is stellar- She's very knowledgeable, warm, but also is very much on top of things. She goes the extra mile to make sure that all the children have all they need, staffing ratios are correct, safety is at the forefront, and leads with love. She is humble and hardworking. Mrs. Candace, Mrs. Yolanda, Mrs. Nagwa, Mrs. Sheila, Mrs. Michelle, Mrs. Gina, and Mrs Kim are the staff that have worked with my little one the most so far. All of them are loving, positive, and patient with us as parents. They provide great structure and individualized care in the classroom. They offer a lot of child friendly Biblical teaching and Developmentally appropriate academic skills like colors, shapes, numbers and learning how to cut with child scissors, draw their name, etc. This school was recommended to m and I'm so glad I went with their recommendation. They have little parades and a Christmas play that is a must see. They had my baby potty trained in about 3 to 4 months. Hope this helps for anyone looking. Many days my baby doesn't want to go home lol

I thought my family and I had put this behind us, but after recently speaking with a parent also going through issues with this school, she mentioned that her daughter said this a couple of days after we left that school. The joy my daughter had when we told her she was going to another school still resonates with me, but knowing the headache, anxiety and stress my 5 years old went through still breaks my heart. I really felt the need and duty as a parent to let people know the experience my family and I had with this school. I know that perhaps other children are having great experiences, but knowing first hand what our child went through is one child too many. No child should be broken down to the point of uncontrollable anxiety and fear towards going to school, and knowing that after we voiced our concerns to administration and other parents are now having similar concerns really makes me feel that they clearly did not listen. Do your due diligence before you commit to a school like this. Perhaps the private school concept at a fraction of the price as compared to other private schools, seems enticing, but as we saw first hand, the emotional and academic well being of a child is not worth it. I really hope something changes within that school.

I chose this school in part because I attended South Ranchito myself as a child and had a good experience, so I never imagined we would be dealing with this now. That said, it is important to note that the school was very different back then and structured differently than it is today. Before enrolling my son, I was repeatedly reassured that he would receive support learning Spanish and that the language barrier would not be an issue. We are now six months into the school year, and that reassurance has proven to be inaccurate. My son is struggling significantly due to the language barrier, and it has affected his confidence, attitude, and academic performance both in Spanish and English. Homework has become a daily struggle because he dislikes the school and feels overwhelmed. These issues never existed before. He is now falling behind academically, and I am genuinely concerned that he may not pass the year. I recently received notice that he must stay after school for additional ELA testing, which unfortunately confirmed that he is being pushed back academically rather than supported. Communication has been another major concern. I am contacted when my son is involved in an incident, yet there is little to no communication when something happens to him. Minor issues are treated as major problems, and I receive repeated calls stating that he "doesn't listen" or "has difficulty following directions," despite my explaining multiple times that the language barrier plays a significant role. Instead of offering understanding or solutions, responses have felt dismissive and authoritative rather than supportive. I also attempted to contact the principal regarding my son's academic struggles and transition. I left a message and never received a call back. For a parent raising serious concerns about their child falling behind academically, this lack of response is unacceptable. As a single working mother, I am unfortunately forced to keep my son enrolled until the end of the school year due to after-school care availability. However, he will not be returning next year. I strongly discourage enrolling your child here if Spanish is not their first language unless you thoroughly research the specific classroom and support system they will be assigned. While this may be a classroom-specific issue, based on our experience, this school has failed to support my child academically and emotionally. Avoid if possible.
