I tried to teach him at home and my son had absolutely no interest - which gets into another whole analysis with learning disorders and what not.. He dropped out 6 times!!!! I explained to my son, you have to learn your ABC's and how to count to 10. He graduated! Then started kindergarten, and had a very hard time. In second grade the school recommended to transfer him to public school For free additional help (Now I believe WCS can accommodate more with disorders in kids as I believe they have an onsite program to assist better). I did send my child to a public school, and he was depressed for the entire 3 years! I worked hard during the recession and told my husband I am placing our child back at Western. And as Soon as I told our son, there was a sense of hope. He returned in sixth grade and graduated high school. Today he is an IT Tech for a mortgage company and has a heart that is open to life with non--judgment. He's trying to figure out how to make this world a better place. My son started Western Christian School in Claremont for the 2025-2026 school year. Western has been a blessing for our family. My son has expressed to me that he enjoys Western a lot more than his previous school. He loves his teachers and is making new friends. First and foremost, I would like to express my profound dissatisfaction with Western Christian School. My son attended the school from second through sixth grade, and during that time he endured repeated bullying, harassment, and mistreatment from both fellow students and staff members. He was mocked because of his hair, physically shoved to the ground, and even grabbed and swung around by other students. The incidents became so severe that certain students were ultimately suspended. This all occurred during his very first year at the school. In addition to the physical bullying, my son was also socially isolated and harassed because he did not fit the stereotypical expectations of the other boys at the school. He was not interested in sports, and because of that, he was often excluded and targeted. He was criticized simply for being different. He was also harassed because of his appearance, despite always presenting himself in a clean, respectful, and well-groomed manner. Instead of embracing individuality, the environment at the school encouraged conformity and ridicule toward students who did not fit a particular mold. At one point, the son of a woman who worked in the office physically shoved my son during P.E. class. Rather than fostering a safe environment for students, the administration appeared dismissive of the ongoing issues. Additionally, Superintendent John Atwood demonstrated behavior that I found deeply one-sided and inappropriate. His son was dating one of the girls who had bullied and harassed my son, which created what I believe was a conflict of interest. When these issues were brought to the school's attention, nothing meaningful was done to address the harassment. After my son left the school, he continued participating in theater activities there because of friendships he had formed. Unfortunately, the bullying and harassment continued, this time involving both students and parents. When I contacted the school to report the matter, I was informed that neither my son nor I were welcome back on campus because I voiced concerns and filed complaints. What I found especially alarming was that after I made complaints regarding the bullying connected to the theater event, Superintendent John Atwood escalated the matter to the point that law enforcement contacted me. Rather than focusing on protecting a student who had already endured years of mistreatment, the situation felt intimidating and retaliatory. While attending Western Christian, my son was repeatedly given demerits because his hair extended beyond the collar line. Ironically, shortly after he left, the school changed its grooming policies and permitted longer hairstyles under a new principal. This only reinforced my belief that the treatment he received was unfair and unnecessarily targeted. I also want to say how incredibly proud I am of my son for the person he has become despite everything he endured during his years at Western Christian. He has grown into an exceptional young man and a true role model. I genuinely could not be prouder of him. He exceeded every expectation I ever had, not only academically, but more importantly as a human being. He is kind, compassionate, intelligent, respectful, and remarkably bright. Watching him overcome bullying and unfair treatment only made him stronger and more determined to succeed. Instead of allowing those experiences to define him negatively, he rose above them and became an even better person because of it. Once my son left Western Christian, he flourished academically and personally. He went on to outperform many students academically, including the majority of the current graduating senior class. He was accepted into one of the top-ranked colleges in the country and graduated high school having already earned four college degrees. He participated in marching band, served in ASB leadership, and genuinely enjoyed his educational experience. Most importantly, he was finally surrounded by teachers who valued and encouraged him rather than criticizing or humiliating him over superficial matters such as his hairstyle. I strongly do not recommend this school to families who want their children to feel supported, accepted, and encouraged to be individuals. To this day, I remain grateful that we made the decision to remove my son from Western Christian. Once he left, he became happier, more confident, and significantly more successful. He was never bullied again and finally experienced the encouragement and respect every child deserves. If I could offer any advice to parents considering this school, it would be this: run and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. read more

Our two children have been attending here since 2018. We never planned on a long term goal to send our first born child to a private school. We sent them to Western because we wanted to biblical truths to be incorporated into her learning as a preschool student. My family has been part of the Western Christian community for 3 years now and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. At the top of our list of reasons why we love WCS is how they love our kids. When I was a kid, I couldn't wait for summer vacation and to get time away from school. I was shocked last year on the last day of school when I saw kids and teachers crying saying goodbye to one another. These kids feel so loved and so close to their teachers and each other that a break is the last thing they want! When we did a visit over the summer and my daughter saw her old teacher, that teacher literally ran and scooped her up in a big hug and cried because she was so happy to see my daughter. How can I not love these people who love my kids so much??? Because of their genuine love for these kids, they put so much effort into their education, their spiritual growth and maturity, and their safety. In a world that is very scary I feel safe with my children being there. The school admin has handled some scary situations with the highest levels of professionalism as well as swiftness and they overly communicate, which I appreciate. Although the tuition is high, you get what you pay for, and we are so grateful to be able to have our children in such a wonderful environment. Additionally, the after school enrichment options are awesome. My only constructive criticism would be that I've noticed that each year there are changes to the school or the events. For example, last year my daughter was in kindergarten and the TK through 2nd grade, I believe, put on the thanksgiving program. The 1st graders got to read and I was astonished at their reading levels. My daughter has been working on her reading and I was excited to get to hear her read at the event this year since she was still in between TK and 2nd grade. Well, it turned out this year she was in the Christmas program and there was no reading. Also, I signed her up for a chem kids after school program last semester and although they have the same company offering after school programs this semester, they're offering different classes. I was looking for an opportunity to have her build skills in chemistry and now having her start something new feels like she's just dabbling here and there and not building on something each semester. We love Western!! Private school was never on my radar because I didn't think we could financially do it with one income. Our daughter attended and graduated from Rancho Cucamonga High School and that worked out just fine. When it came time for our son to start preschool, we wanted him to be learning in a Christian environment. WCS was the second school we came to tour. I instantly took a liking to the beautiful landscaped campus. The preschool secretary at the time was so kind and welcoming. We liked the curriculum and the classroom set up. The teachers we met were genuine and I could tell they loved the pop littles they taught. I loved that the kids had chapel once a week and the class sizes were small. Elementary through high school education was available. There were so many things I liked about WCS, but how could we be sure this was the place for our son? My son's favorite worship song at the time was Revelation Song by Kari Jobe. As we drove off campus that day, it came on the radio. It was at that moment, we knew we would be enrolling our son at Western. We have been blessed to be at Western for nine years. Both of our sons started at the preschool at the age of four. Now one is in sixth grade and our youngest is in first grade. They have literally grown up at Western. Learning, laughing, making friends, playing, making mistakes, singing the list goes on. Most importantly they know and love Jesus! It is our goal to raise Godly young men with a heart to serve. Western helps and encourages us to do that. Mr. Attwood and Mrs. Burdett do a fantastic job of informing parents of what's going on, what's to come, and how to be a proactive parent in protecting our kids. Teachers, aides, and all staff are always there to help with a smile. Every teacher has been a blessing and has loved our boys like their own. It's been extra special for our youngest to have the same teachers as his brother. We get so attached to the teacher and it's always bitter sweet when we have to move to the next grade. We don't know how the teachers do it, but they pick up where the previous teacher left off and there we are once again attached to another loving and phenomenal teacher. Eh... used to be fantastic. We were there for 6 years. The good: the teachers care and they spend more time with the kids individually then our experience in public school. We also never had an issue with overt sexual commentary by other children to our child like we experienced in the local public school. The Claremont campus was beautiful, special. The staff knew our names and always greeted us with a smile. It felt like home for the entire family, until it wasn't. The bad: the school has changed. It's had 3 principles in 2 years. It's chaotic. They had a huge influx of kids the past year which overran the small campus and all of a sudden a non-judgmental, friendly atmosphere, turned into a season of Mean Girls. It's also always been known as an easy school. One parent told me, "I told my son he has to get straight A's here because it's so easy, there's no reason not to". If you're looking for academic rigor, this is not it. They promote that the earth is not billions of years old, but only 6,000 years old to align with new earth creationism, science be darn. The text books are sometimes horrible in nature, very fire and brimstone (in elementary mind you). And they've had a string of write ups by the health department for violations. Western used to be a special place. Not anymore. read more

I am overwhelming blessed to have my child at this academic institution, let me tell you all the reasons why: 1. The teachers genuinely LOVE the children! They take the time to get to know and understand each child's unique circumstances and clearly communicate their authentic love and care to the students. 2. From the workers at the front desk to the volleyball coach and everyone in-between, they are going to intentionally and lovingly point each child they encounter to Jesus. 3. My child comes home singing worship songs and talking about biblical concepts that weren't learned at church... this is evidence of the rich spiritual formation that is taking place. 4. The quality of academic excellence in the education given. Good curriculum, healthy high standards and results generated. 5. Size. Smaller classroom sizes, adult to student interaction ratios and overall number of students on campus is safe, manageable and realistic. 6. Finances. I never thought we could afford private school, but WCS has made it possible for families like ours to attend such an amazing school through financial scholarships that are robustly financed through the generosity of many in the community. Don't let finances keep you from exploring all your options! 7. Peace of mind. The faculty and staff at WCS take the physical, emotional and spiritual safety and well-being of our children seriously! 8. I am happy to give my two cents about this school. We have two boys that started at Western Christian middle school for the 21/22 school year and we could not be happier with our choice! In the midst of government mandates of masking perfectly healthy children, we were hoping that a private school would have more choice in how they run their school, so we took a leap of faith and entered our children into Western Christian. Thank goodness we were right! Western Christian has been a very positive and loving atmosphere for our children in a time where public schools were just a mess. The staff and teachers have been amazing and our boys not only got a normal, maskless (by choice), comfortable classroom learning environment, they also got to play sports!!! Yes! Our boys played flag football, basketball and baseball-competitively against other private schools. Our boys were practicing and playing after-school sports while most public schools had all of that shut down. In addition, we are a very traditional family, with traditional family values and this school supports that. The superintendent, principal and board support parents choice in how to raise their children. This being a religious school, God is brought into the learning environment here, this was new for my boys and such a great experience. I'll also mention the campus is beautiful. Mountain views, mature trees, grass, a new gym, as well as, some older style buildings with character, (there are also portable style classrooms). I know this post is long, but it needed to be for me to get across all the reasons we are so grateful for Western Christian. Our boys have made many new friends, have been supported by great teachers, and have thrived socially, physically, and academically in a very bleak time in our world of Covid. We have been at Western with each of our three kids at different phases since 2013-14. Each one of them started in the preschool, an incredibly nurturing and warm environment, which we have shared with many families over the years. We met a family who identified as Muslim while our children played together in nearby Vail Park and told them about the preschool at WCS. They ended up enrolling their daughter and thanked us years later for the recommendation. Their daughter thrived in the preschool environment, just like our children did! Western Christian is interested in whole child development. While academics are a top priority, so is the development and growth of the character and personhood of each student. There exists a high level of respect and love for each student along with their families. This is demonstrated daily by the kindness and caring nature of the teachers and teaching assistants who instruct the kids. It is also demonstrated by each and every one of the staff members who work for Western, in the front office, on the grounds, and at the administrative level. During the height of the pandemic, we opted to do homeschool with the constant changes to regulations around Covid 19. While we were away, we continued to support Western financially, and urged others who could offer financial support, to continue sponsoring the school they would want to send their kids to, once the pandemic had ended. We were not always in this position and benefitted from financial assistance through the school early on when we did not have the means to send our children to Western. The school honestly wants to help families in financial need. Now we love to see how our support and the support of others, helps families realize their dreams of attending Western! Each student is unique and not every school offers the right fit for every student and their family. However, as a previous educator working in public, public charter, and private Montessori school environments, I can confidently say that this school largely meets the needs of my three kids who are very different from each other! We have found that Western has been a fulfilling educational experience for our kids at each level, now in TK, grade school and middle school. 3 years ago our family made the difficult decision to remove our two boys from the public school system. After witnessing the harmful affects that online "distance learning" was having on them, along with a the mandates that were being implemented throughout our local district, we knew it no longer aligned with our values or the best interests of our children. I immediately began homeschooling them but knew it wasn't a long term option. Then by the grace of God, we came across a flyer for Western Christian's Open House. We attended and within MINUTES knew this was the place for our children. Since day one, we have felt welcomed, loved and seen by the teachers, staff and administrators there. Our children are not only challenged and supported academically, but they are taught and shown the love of Jesus! The school also offers so many incredible opportunities for our children that we are thankful for such as : Art, music, middle school sports programs, field trips, weekly Chapel, etc. Finding Western Christian has definitely been an unexpected blessing that came out of a very difficult time and we are so thankful. read more

Just this morning, my 7th grader told me that he is sad school is ending next week. He said this is the first school year he's felt this way. I asked him why, and he replied that it's been the best year he's ever had. I do not take this validation lightly from a young man who really did not love going to school for so long. We left our local public school after his 6th grade year which was virtual and then in person but only half day, masked and separated from his peers. Middle school is a pivotal time for all teenagers and I couldn't imagine him at the public school under those same cruel circumstances. The first correspondence I received from Western Christian was an email from the Superintendent in which many impactful messages were relayed, but there was one line that really stunned me. In fact, brought me to tears: he said that Western Christian was there to serve it's students 'mental, physical, and spiritual' well being. It seems so simple, but to receive this powerful message after hearing from the public school messages concerning only 'safety' from a virus while at the expense of the true well being of those same students, was to know that we were in the right place. My first impression of Western Christian was the warm staff, the joyful atmosphere of the beautiful campus, and the strong community of parents and students. A year has passed and this first impression still holds true. The teachers and staff are supportive and treat their students as a blessing to enjoy rather than a burden to bear. It would be naive to think that just because you're at a Christian school that every child is a saint, but my son has made some great friends, he's excelling in his academics, and has really grown as a musician with the middle school band. He was able to attend his first sleep away camp this year with his peers, perform with his band at Knott's, and he is honing his spirituality and connection to God. There is a migration from public schools and from private schools that place value on cultural and political fads over educating students with the fundamentals to develop critical thinking and strong character, so enrollment at Western Christian is in high demand. With this growth will come growing pains, but this school is worthy of seeing those growing pains through. I am grateful to Western Christian for creating an atmosphere that puts it's students at the center and fills them with knowledge and experiences that enhance their connection to God, to each other and to their community. read more

We are new to Western Christian. My son has just started his 6th grade year. We came from a very good public school but we were just looking for something "more" for middle school. WC has been the answer to all of our prayers for school. The teachers and administration are truly amazing. The curriculum is on point and the campus feels very secure and safe. Most importantly, the kids are being taught lessons and values that we know he would never receive from a public school. We were a little worried about our son moving to a new school, especially middle school, but the whole process has been beautiful. All the kids have really accepted him and the teachers/administration have all been so good to him. In this very short time he has already made wonderful friends. I have been able to get to know a handful of the parents and families, and they too have all been so lovely. He is working harder than we have ever seen, and to be truly honest, we have never seen him happier!!!!! We have two more children. Our youngest will be headed to WC when the time right. Our oldest will be entering the HS next year. She has not even began at the school but the admissions department at the HS has been guiding us through the process. My daughter had the opportunity to shadow a freshman at the HS. In just ONE day at the HS she is already in love with the school. She keeps saying "if I get in to WC...". Both campuses have a feeling that is very hard to describe. You enter the campus and you know your children will not just get a great education but you know they are going to be safe, loved and treated as a member of the WC family. We love Western Christian! Our family has been drawn to Western Christian from the time our first child was getting ready to enter Kindergarten. We toured the Claremont campus and thought it was beautiful, and thought compared to public school it felt small. We decided at that time we were not 100% sure of the financial commitment of a private school so we decided to enroll our first child at public school. Fast forward 2 years, many factors made us reconsider Western Christian. The pandemic had changed what public school was, and our second child was getting ready to start Kindergarten. We toured the campus again, this time with our children and we all felt God's presence at this school and knew we needed to make the move to Western Christian. We tuned into the messaging and encouragement from Western Christian's administration during the uncertain times in the height of the pandemic. Mr. Attwood, the schools Superintendent, is amazing! His messages of hope and spreading God's word during these times were a huge part in sealing the deal that we wanted our children at this school. During this time, we realized that Western Christian fully aligned with our values and recognized that a smaller school where the children wouldn't get "lost in the crowd" was exactly what we wanted for our children. Starting at a new school can be bring about nervousness and anxiety. Both of my children immediately felt loved and made friends, even with beginning their experience through online instruction due to the pandemic. Western Christian made sure that children had close to what was a normal school day even when they couldn't be together in person. Teachers taught the way they would have if the children were at their desks in class. Western's Kindergarten team was amazing during this time, fully engaging with loads of resources to educate and entertain 5-year-olds through Zoom. Western Christian teachers, aides, staff, administration all strive to know all the children on campus. I can recall just a few weeks into attending Western that the campus staff had already begun to recognize who I was and knew which children belonged to me before I even had to say. Western Christian teachers truly love their students and want to encourage them and support them. My children's teachers and aides have even come and supported my children in outside of school sports. The moment you drive or step on campus you are greeted by joyful faces from the Superintendent through the maintenance staff. Another recent instance, my child fell ill during class and as she was walked to the office to be sent home, her entire class and the maintenance staff prayed for her health and recovery. Western Christian is God's school focusing on the whole child. Helping children to strive in academics and do well for God's glory, not just because it looks good on paper. Our family loves Western Christian! The teachers, atmosphere, and campus are very welcoming. Besides receiving a great education, our children are KNOWN and loved at Western! Every morning the Superintendent or Principal waves to us as we drive in, welcoming my children by name (we have three elementary aged children). Teachers who have not yet had my children in their classes know them as well. The smaller class sizes make it possible for the students at the school to really get to know each other. A couple years ago one of my daughters broke her arm right before summer break, and her teacher visited us at our home during the summer, blessed our family with my daughter's favorite meal, and stayed to play a card game with all three of my kids just to check on how my daughter was doing with her cast on. That is just one of MANY examples where teachers have done amazing, creative, and generous things to bless their students. Western Christian's teachers go above and beyond! We have felt so welcomed, loved, and supported by the teachers, staff, and administration at Western Christian. Learning about Jesus and the Bible is part of Western Christian's culture and is infused throughout the curriculum. My children learn about God regularly at school, and they participate in chapel at school each week as well. I love how Western Christian partners with parents in supporting the faith of our children. Western also offers a ton of extracurricular activities that my children have loved being a part of, including Tae Kwon Do, a coding class, cheer camps, and GLOW (God Loves Our Worship), all of which are offered at the school (just to name a few!). My wife and I both went through the public school system and always thought that our kids would also go to the local public school. However, the pandemic changed that as we really needed to find an in-person learning experience for our son. Now, I am so thankful we made the decision to enroll our son at Western Christian and can't imagine having our 5-year old or our youngest son (1) ever going to public school or somewhere besides Western Christian. The education has been top notch and my son absolutely loves going to school. He has yet to complain once about waking up in the morning and on the weekend, he always asks me "Dad, can I go to school today?" This is our second year at Western Christian for both my son and daughter. We came here shortly after Covid hit, were firm believers of parent choice and the roles God has created for us. We came from a public school in the Corona area and realized that the rules and line of questioning at our public school wasn't in line with ours. When we came to check out the school, we worked with Melissa Hoefferle and she gave us a tour around the school. My wife and I immediately could see and felt the difference between this school and our old public school. The school just felt like home. We got the feeling that Western staff actually cared for our kids. One of our concerns was uprooting our kids and bringing them to a new school with no friends. We decided to move forward and enrolled our kids at the Claremont campus. We completed the process and were invited to a new student orientation. At the orientation, current students came and took our kids outside, gave them donuts and befriended them. This was occurring while we heard from Mrs. Burdett and Mr. Attwood. These two have been blessing to our family and addressed all of my concerns. We were where we needed to be. On our way home, my daughter says to me, "Dad, I have three new friends. They were so nice." It melted my heart. Now that we are into our second year, I have no doubt that this is the best place for my family. I look forward to being greeted by Mr. Attwood (The superintendent) at the driveway every morning. I mean really, who's school has the superintendent standing outside every morning greeting you as you pull in the driveway. This is only a fraction of the love and care that Western Christian staff provides. I could write a novel on why this school is hands down the best place for my kids. WC is a phenomenal school that supports my student and their education. I appreciate the 1:1 education and the positive impact it has had on my child. WC provides my child with a top notch education. Our daughter transferred to this school in 3rd grade - 2019-20 school year. My husband and I knew we wanted "better" for our daughter than what the public school system offered her. We all know what happened in March of 2020! Covid! ughhh...New school - new friends and now we're quarantined. This school worked so fast and HARD to get up and running and made what seemed to be a horrific situation - into a manageable, faith based, engaged, education experience that turned into a "family", we know, we will have for a lifetime. We never knew and sometimes still wonder how we will afford to "pay" for her primary education but we know we will do anything to continue to find that way! God has had a hand in our journey and its been proven time and time again. Our prayers have been answered and multiplied! The growth that our daughter has shown has been tremendous. From a young girl who would have never gone up on a stage - has now lead her class in chapel, participated in the talent show, tried out for things that she might never had before and has loved every minute at this school. Many of us say at this school - "much more than an education" but you can't believe how true this is until you see your child grow, not only, in her academics but through her confidence, pride, joy, kindness, belief in herself and most importantly knowing a God that has chosen her to be here and loves her! Simply put - there's No place like Western! I could go on and on but let me end with the wonderful staff and teachers. They know your child by name, they show love and concern for your child, they encourage them to be better, kind humans and to trust in the Lord with all their heart. If I call the office or ask to speak to an administrator it's always accommodated. I have always felt listened to, and more importantly our daughter knows their doors are always open and she has NO PROBLEM asking anyone for help. Together - hand in hand - we make a difference in the life of our children. It takes a village! We parents can't do it alone and since we send our children off to school for long hours of the day - thank God you know they are in the hands of people who want to share in your joys in raising GREAT, God loving, humans!! read more

If you're reading this review right now then I believe you were brought here for a purpose. I believe that you're in search of finding a new opportunity for your family, your children or even yourself and I believe that in reading this review you'll have an understanding as to why Western Christian has proposed itself as an option for you to consider. When my husband and I were searching for a school for our children to attend we asked ourselves many questions, what are the values we want our children to learn, what is the foundation of the curriculum, what is the staff like, what are the students like etc. Well when we visited Western Christian for a tour in 2019, our questions were all answered. From the moment we stepped on campus we were greeted by the warm and uplifting staff and students in the office and we immediately knew that the values of the school were directly in line with that of our own. Jumping forward to 2020, our son had just began Kindergarten and as you well know the world as a whole came to a grieving holt. We were all scared, nervous as to what was to come, however let me assure you that amongst the fear that dwelled deep within my family and I, there was Mr. Atwood, the superintendent of Western Christian. Throughout what was perhaps the most frightening time of our lives Western Christian held us all together. Starting from the top with Mr. Atwood to the aids and volunteers, Western Christian reassured us all that in times of doubt, God is in control, and after getting through that year I knew my children were in the right place. A place where faith is the foundation, and everything else is built on top. Since my son started at Western Christian 2 years ago, my daughter has followed suit and is now in kindergarten, as well as 2 sets of nieces and nephews. Western Christian is more than a school, it is a community. A place where we all look after one another. A place where if or when you're in doubt or having questions about the present or future, the families, staff, and community of Western Christian come together for you in prayer, and uplifting. Through Western Christian my family and I have found our church family as well as a large community of neighbors and friends. I am grateful everyday that the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to send my children to a school where I know they are safe, they are learning the ways of the Lord, and they come home happy each and everyday. We have been at Western Christian now for 4 years and have been blown away by how amazing our experience has been! We have 2 kids in middle school and one at the high school. The teachers and staff love the students and support the families. I have had teachers personally call/text me just to check in or tell me something they appreciate about my child. I know this would not be the case in a public school where my kid is just another name on a huge roster. They incorporate a Biblical worldview in all they teach. They have many extra curricular activities that are just not available at other schools. Our kids have grown so much at Western and have made really great relationships. As parents, we have made amazing friendships here too. There is really nothing bad I can say about the school. Paying for private school is a sacrifice but one that is well worth it! read more

There are no a lots of reviews on their preschool early education department. I have to give them more credits than they deserve. There are many internal qualities on teacher's teaching, caring, and department's admiration. They all are doing excellent jobs as a team and all teachers know many kids name even kids are not in their individual assigned class. They are so caring and aware of each kid's need. Each school always has pros and cons, they are the one always so willing to listen from parent's concerns and suggestions, and always make adjustments as needed and work out the best solutions for all families. My kid is in this school since August 2019, she has never gotten sick even once at all ( knock the wood) whereas in her previous school she was sick biweekly! Yes biweekly! And again none none zero accidents! We knew kids get hurts sometimes. She barely gets a bruise! (In her previous preschool she has bruise every week!) This school teachers sanitize everywhere constantly. Class rooms are always neat and clean at the beginning and ending day. They teach well on kid's manner including respecting each other, being responsible and valuing god's existence. Kids are happy there and there are no force on learning. A lot of play times and tons of teaching, learning and playing materials for kids. They have many quality materials from lakeshores, which I have bought tons myself at home too!! There are no pressure on any functional events and mostly at will. As a busy parent, I feel comfortable and sometimes feel guilty that I didn't help. If you have times there are tons of opportunities to help out and reach out campus activities and functions, and you surely will have a big family feeling there. Preschool Kids go to chapel, library, and computer lab (they are mainly used by bigger kids on campus) during the weekdays. They are already teaching preschool kids about the elementary school environment, which is so awesome since they all eventually will be going there with no adjustment needed at all. Can you imagine a three year old knows what the computer lab is for? Isn't a great learning opportunity? I don't think a traditional preschool or daycare would provide this environment! As a parent I don't know what else I can ask for more. Their tuition is competitively fair around the areas. For the values we have received for our kid, they are way too affordable! Don't miss out the best environment for your kids to thrive there! Ms Christi is a wonderful director, she will greet you every morning at gate and know all kids name. Ms Olivia is a wonderful admin who always goes beyond helping no just admin work but pray with kids, open kids lunch box, etc. Mrs Darlene is my kid teacher, she is firm but fun with kids. Kids listen to her and respect her with tons of loves! She is so caring and works with parents and kids need all the time. There are also many awesome teachers including Ms Astrid, Mrs Monique, Mrs Melissa, Mrs Jessie, Mrs Regina, Mrs Jill, Mrs Angelica, Mrs Naila. They are not my kid assigned teacher but we know them and they know us as a family. Kids also cross play a lot with different classes on campus. Each class is about 12-13 kids per a teacher and a few assistants are helping around all classes all the times. So you will see them around for sure. The school has open door policy you can go in at anytime and no need to peek thru or appointments . it is very down to earth campus. If you have been thru a few schools before you properly get a feeling that as a parent we want to see our kid at anytime. This past summer they just upgraded their outdoor playground, teachers would setup different play stations for kids to explore. They also have big shades trees and summer is so nicely shaded. We never put suncreams on our kid and she barely gets tanned. You can ask teachers to put sun cream on your kids with a doctor note ( a very common practice) Great layout and a lot of natural plays including little garden, sandbox, slides, rides, etc. you have to check out yourself. Campus is so beautiful just by itself! Check out their library! It is not just for big kids, it is fun for little one too! My kid looks forward every week to library and computer lab! She thinks it is a mini tour! The school superintendent is also so down to earth. He comes out to direct traffics flow with teachers and assistants. Traffic flow around the campus has never been an issue. They break down the kids grade with different morning start times so traffic flow is so ease. Very smart and concerning little things that school have provided, not to mention there are many more little things school have done for parents and kids. BEST decision of the year was to join the Western Christian School family. I am a graduate from Western Christian and was thrilled to have my daughter be able to attend this year. I loved every second of my time at WCS many years ago and my daughter shares the same sentiment. She comes home full of so much joy for life, for Jesus and for learning and she brags about this to everyone she meets. We are so proud to be part of this family and we wish that everyone would have the opportunity to feel the way about their school like we do. We are in our second year at Western for my 8th and 6th grader. Private school was really never an option for our family, we felt comfortable in public school and didn't really think twice about it. Fast forward to Covid and watching our children suffer from the shut-downs, masking, and questionable education that just didn't fit our families beliefs. We started touring different schools and within minutes of being on the tour at Western we both knew this would be where our children would go. I get asked constantly by friends and family, "What is one thing you don't like about Western" and I can honestly say we haven't found one. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I feel confident that if and when an issue arises the administration and staff are quick to handle it. They say there's no place like Western and it really is true. Your children are just loved differently here. We had some great teachers at our public school, but this school as a whole is more than we could have ever asked for our kids. From the Good Morning's at the entrance gate from Mr. Atwood (rain or shine!) or Mrs. Burdett, to the smiling faces you'll see on campus or at pick up, they truly go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We feel so blessed to send our children to a school where we know they are genuinely loved by their teachers who only want what is best for them. It's such a breathe of fresh air to know when we drop them off they will be taught great academics but also to know and follow Jesus which is so important, especially in today's society. read more
