We had a very disappointing experience with Montereau during an already stressful time. On March 23, 2026, my father was scheduled for transfer after being accepted for admission. Based on that commitment, we gave up a confirmed spot at another facility. At the last minute, we were informed that Montereau could no longer accept him because they chose to prioritize an internal patient. This left us scrambling with no placement and created unnecessary stress and risk for our family member. I understand that capacity and priorities can change, but once a patient is accepted and a transfer is scheduled, families rely on that commitment to make critical care decisions. I would strongly encourage better communication and more responsible admission practices to avoid putting other families in this situation. This experience raises serious concerns about reliability and how external patients are prioritized versus internal ones. read more

I had my father in Montereau last year for skilled nursing. He couldn't lift his arms and had cellulitis bad in his hands and wrists. They knew this and would put his food tray up to him in his bed and pick it up hours later not even touched. He needed assistance to eat. I made them post large notes all over his room that he needs help. They stopped doing his therapy and he stayed in bed all day unless I was up there. One day I went to visit him and I heard him yelling "I need water!" over and over, he was so thirsty. He couldn't drink on his own either and they didn't care to help him. I was livid and met with the nursing director, she was like a stale loaf of bread, no apologies nothing changed. I had him moved to PAM but he had gone downhill so fast at Montereau that he passed away at PAM. We lost him last November. Sadly this all started from a fall and hip surgery otherwise he was a healthy 89 read more

Montereau is a beautiful campus! The facility is well maintained inside and out. It is clean and rarely smells. You can't find better PT, OT and other therapy personnel. The food is very good. The Aides are wonderful but severely understaffed. Some patients are left in bed until almost noon. Weekends are especially chaotic due to understaffing. It is understood that there is a current hiring campaign underway. The nursing staff needs improvement in attitudes toward difficult patients. The doctor is somewhat arrogant and seems unwilling to discuss with the patients and their caretakers regarding changes to medications and treatment plans. The biggest and most dangerous issue is the dispensing of meds that is routinely done at the med cart in the hallways. Meds are all put in a cup and brought in to the patients rooms rather than each med being verbally verified in the patients presence. One patient was overdosed and had to be transferred to the hospital because meds were given 3 hours late but kept on same dosage schedule. There appears to be difficulty reading the med schedule from the laptop on the med carts. My daughter was told that her grandmother would be given her meds last because it took too long to dispense her meds. (We recognize our family member requests what each med is and can be a very difficult and demanding patient.) There is no reason to "punish" a patient because they have reason to be afraid. We therefore requested that staff member be removed from that part of the patient's care. The cleaning staff is thorough but they complain about not having enough trash bags and toilet paper. The overall impression is that: 1) Family must constantly advocate for their loved ones rather than be at ease and not worry . 2) Patients do not get consistent quality care. 3) The management team is more worried about their bottom line than patient care. read more

Montereau Tulsa Skilled Nursing I will give this place a 3 star rating only because the cma's and nurses were very nice. I will say the nurses that I had didn't seem to have a clue that something wasn't right when they should have known. The therapists definitely should have known. Especially one of them who claimed to have also broken her ankle in the past and wore a boot. She had helped me shower and took off my boot and then bagged and taped my leg to keep the cast dry. Never having had a broken ankle before, I just went along with the program thinking they knew more than I did. When I complained about standing and walking, that I didn't feel safe and felt unbalanced like I was going to fall, she said I was just making excuses and I was non compliant. In fact I was one of her top 10 most non compliant patients. She said if she put I was being non compliant in whatever she was writing down, medical would stop paying for me to stay there. Feeling threatened, I tried my best to do what she asked although I was totally off balance with one foot much higher than the other. After I got home, I found out that they were suppose to take the cast off before putting on the boot. No wonder the boot (and cast) had me off balance and the original boot they ordered didn't fit and had to be returned for another larger size. Luckily, Tuesday I will be getting the cast off and getting the right size boot at no charge. My doctors office and home therapists are at a loss how this had gone unnoticed by them. I am angry with myself for doubting my abilities and forcing myself to do what I didn't feel comfortable or safe with to please them. read more

My grandmother lives in this stylish resort/retirement community and it's fabulous. Everyone is SOOOOOOOOOO friendly, it's the perfect environment for my grandmother. Like the website states, all guests enjoy the amenities of a cruise ship. They offer 1 or 2 bedroom apartments, completely private cottages, and I believe they even have an assisted living facility. They offer 3 restaurants that you can choose from and I believe all residents have an allowance for food . Residents also have the option of cooking in their own apartment. I've been to both the Soufflé cafe and the Renoir restaurant. The food is pretty decent for a place like this. My grandmother prefers the Renoir Sunday brunch. I had quiche, the salad bar, and some soup. We had mimosas with brunch; they were pretty weak, but what can you expect in a retirement community? I feel fortunate that my grandmother lives in a place like this. She's definitely happy with it! read more

My parents moved into Montereau several years ago when my dad was near end stage of Alzheimer's. It's a lovely community with friendly staff and amazing caregivers. My mom joined many different groups within the community after they moved in, and has made many close and lifelong friends there. The entire property is constantly being updated and renovated to the highest of standards for safety and modernization. They recently completed a major renovation including the dining rooms, lounge, grounds, common areas etc... Not to mention the entire campus is on a beautiful, quiet, park-like setting with water features, walking trails and even a dog park. I feel completely at ease with the safety and care given by all at Montereau once I leave mom after a visit. A prime example is their swift response to COVID-19 this year. Once the danger to seniors became apparent, Montereau took drastic and well-planned measures to keep the community safe. read more

The retirement home itself is a very well put together and you can tell that they really care for their residents. However, there have been many thefts (of residents properties as well as visitors.) So beware of thieves, the employees at the front desk are very kind about it, but you can tell that no one really cares and they just ignore it. read more
