Patients hire doctors to provide expert opinion. People hire plumbers, lawyers, barbers and other…read moreprofessionals to help them with things they don't have expertise in. With any other profession, the behavior of not following up with one's client for a week, not calling when your staff says you will call, etcetera would be unacceptable. Additionally, if a lawyer scheduled an appointment with you at 2pm, you would expect to see him or her at 2pm. This practice operates by scheduling 3 patients all at the same time. So you show up a bit early for a 2pm appointment? Guess what! So have two other people. At least you aren't alone in the waiting room. What? You didn't schedule an extra 45 minutes to wait for your doctor to see you? That's okay because my friend will see you when he is ready and not risk having to wait on a patient who might be running late. Here's my disclaimer: Doctors run late. There are emergencies and patients who come in with more complicated problems than they let on when scheduling their appointments. I understand and I'd rather them take their time with someone who needs some extra attention. My problem is when you plan your schedule to ensure that 2/3 of your patients will wait for an unspecified length of time. Basically, being a doctor is a service profession. Yes, they are more respected than an electrician or a waitperson, but that doesn't exempt them from treating their patients with respect.

Not to mention "the fear", and the ensuing MRI revelation. After a week of not moving, I was faced with the ultrasound procedure, unfortunately one could not be scheduled in a timely manner in San Diego. So, I contacted Dr. Goldman, was seen promptly, and had my procedure done. Aside from the obvious unpleasantries, his staff and manner were not one of them. He met with me personally, in his own office, and showed me breakdowns of the MRI, why it hadn't moved in a week, and my options regarding surgery. He was on hand for the surgery, and was prompt regarding follow ups. I would wrap this up by saying "I would gladly go back", but I seriously can't think of any positive reason to return to a Urologist, aside to say thank you!

He thoroughly arranged the necessary tests, including MRI, biopsy, and PSMA PET/CT, which led to a clear and timely diagnosis. Because I was concerned about the risk of infection, I specifically requested a transperineal (TP) biopsy, and Dr. Shinghal was very receptive and performed it without issue. I truly appreciated how he listened to my concerns and accommodated my request. After the cancer was confirmed, he took the time to clearly explain the available treatment options, discussing both the benefits and potential concerns of each. This helped me make an informed and confident decision about my treatment. His recommendation of Dr. Yao for surgery was excellent and made a meaningful difference in my overall care and outcome. Dr. Shinghal is professional, thoughtful, and genuinely patient-centered. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy urologist.

Everything was explained clearly before it was done and there was absolutely no pain or discomfort. The lidocaine gel numbed the area beforehand where probe was inserted. I cannot emphasize enough that Doctor takes time to explain and is a good listener too! A few weeks back I had the opposite experience with another Urologist at the same Mtn. View location who dismissed the problem I had, arguing that it didn't exist and it was probably only a UTI. I left that appmt feeling despondent and told my Primary care, who took me seriously and made an immediate referral to Dr. Seufert. If you are looking for someone who is friendly, professional and diligent to find whatever problem you have, he will dig (pardon the pun) deep enough and you will know with certainty what your diagnosis is. He is already referring me for further assessment for an MRI. I was seen due to Red blood cells in my urine lab tests several times, which are not a UTI. The prep time for a cystoscopy and all the questions from the nurse take about 15 mins. but the actual procedure took maybe 5 mins., during which time Dr. Seifert tells you what he is seeing on the monitor. My test involved looking up urethra into the bladder. My close friend who is also my caregiver was able to sit in during the procedure and watch everything on the monitor, which was not visible to me since it was above my head. Since you are covered with sheets, etc. you will still have modesty. Dr. Seufert has excellent bedside manner, and guaranteed to put you at ease!
