another fraud review here. This office sent a bill to me after my treatment ended. They began billing in and getting paid by my insurance in October. NEVER once did I receive an EOB statement ANYTHING regarding billing to Aetna/payment from Aetna. I reieved a almost 7k treatment bill dated 01/15/2026. I called to speak with the OM with whom I had a cordial relationship with to inquire. I was rudely told by the new OM that this bill was correct and it needed to be paid right away. She refused to answer any of my questions and kept demanding payment. Medicare will be getting another call about them. Disgusting patient treatment. read more

I was diagnosed with a urinary issue by my GP and GYN doctors, and advised to see a urologist. First off every urologist I called was either not taking patients or it would 6 months before I could book an appointment. I lucked out and finally found Dr AYTAC APAYDIN who could see me in the three weeks. Yes, his office is busy and you sometimes you have to wait a while once you are in the office, but I found him very professional, kind, took good notes and answered all my questions. His reviews were not great so I was skeptical, but I found him smart, thorough and kind. He is busy because he is a true doctor working hard to see all the patents that the other urologists will not see. I give him big stars for this. The staff were friendly and yes I had to wait a bit but they were honest and told me I would have to wait a bit, so I worked on other stuff that I need to catch up on. This office somehow got a hold of my kids insurance info and and submitted for a claim that was actually paid, we have notified our insurance company and will be notifying the authorities as well. Bad, bad, and worse. First I went into the office for my appointment for a test, they couldn't perform the test because of insurance reasons. Would have been nice if, since they had the insurance information and knew why I was coming in, if they'd have worked that out before I came in. Second, When I came in again for the test 2 weeks later, they gave me a urinary tract infections...that was super fun. Third, when I tried to get medicine for that, they made me make a 3rd appointment and wait for that...also super fun. Fourth, after all that joy, they happily sent me a big fat bill. My son was referred to Dr Apaydin by Doctors on Duty. Dr Apaydin ordered three extensive tests tests, diagnosed an enlarged prostate (my son is 19) and put my son on 3 months of Cipro. After one month, we called and said he was no better. The doctor saw him right away but kind of shrugged when I pressed for answers. Same thing at two months. After that, I requested a referral to Stanford. They drug their feet and had to be reminded three times to forward my son's medical file and test results to Stanford. Waiting time was always a problem - sometimes as long as two hours. Stanford doc immediately ruled out enlarged prostate with a basic exam that Apaydin never did. Stanford doc has all on track now, but we wasted almost a year trying to deal with this locally. read more

I honestly have no idea how this place keeps it's doors open and how these doctors still have their licenses. This review is pertinent to doctor Apaydin but the experience applies to the whole office. I was referred to them by the hospital, honestly I asked for a different urologist since the one I see regularly I find to be a little rude. But I wasn't prepared for the Salinas Valley Urology Associates experience. This place is not a place you want to go to, refer to or take someone you love to. This place takes full advantage of the system, it works like a sweatshop, you go in and they are immediately trying to find a procedure for you to undergo. If you don't believe me look up Dr Apayden in healthgrades and read the beautiful documents of his disciplinary action which further proves the way his office operates. I went there because I ended up at the ER because of kidney pain which turned out to be a kidney stone, now this is something I should have paid more attention to, but the receptionist from his office called me before me seeing him trying to schedule a procedure, something I strongly declined. So I go to his office and in comes the wait which like a lot of people have said here is almost absurdly long; then when I finally saw the doctor he again immediately started to force a procedure. Here is the part I consider myself lucky if anything to have had stones before, I knew he wasn't doing the right thing when he is trying to make me go under a procedure without seeing a CT scan, I had one with me that was taken the day before at the hospital. He insisted in me having another one at his office, of course, right? Milking that cow as much as he can. So he gets the results and tells me I should try SWL. I asked him why not letting it pass on its own since it wasn't big and he reluctantly gave me flomax so I could pass it. He asked me to take the stone for lab work when it passed. Less than a week after the stone passed and I schedule an appointment to give it to them I guess since they wont just take it at the counter because that way they can't charge your insurance. This is no joke, with an appointment it took them almost three hours to see me and here is the kicker, they never called me or sent my family doctor any results. I am writing this because I saw a lot of elderly people just being dropped there, a lot of hispanic people who didn't speak fluently the language and maybe couldn't understand properly what they were going through and those people are being taken advantage of by SVUA because the only reason I could save myself from undergoing unnecessary treatment was because I've been through this before. This is not a practice, is a mill, a farm for charging insurance companies and the government for treatment that is completely unnecessary and they could not care less about you as a patient, non the less as a person and your dignity is something they use to clean their shoes with. Again and please, go to healthgrades and read the document by yourself, you might find they have put you through the same BS. read more

Customer service is non-existent. Looks like they are always triple booked as the wait is minimum 1 hour and a half in a very crowded room with no air conditioning. Only to see the doctor for 5-10min. The staff appears to be always in a rush and in a very bad mood. My experience has been consistently bad. We live in the 21 Century and there is no way to talk and/or email the Doctor at this office. Everything is handled via snail mail and/or appointment. I must mention I never leave reviews online, but this I will not let go and/or tolerate. Care providers should truly focus on training their staff and provide quality care to their patients. read more

This company somehow managed to get ahold of my kids' health insurance cards. They have never set foot in Salinas, much less inside of this office. They are teens. Yet this office fraudulently submitted claims for COVID tests (which my kids did not have when they are billing for). Had an appointment for Biopsy at 945am got on table for procedure at 1215pm. Then went for results 130pm appointment the doctor showed up at 3pm. Last time went for MRI results 1045am appointment and told the staff about previous experience and they explained that he was a surgeon. Finally about 1130am they said he is running late I asked him to call with results which never did. If you have a lot of time to kill that is place to go read more

The staff was very pleasant & helpful. Was referred here by Urgent Care and was extremely please with Dr Apaydin. First visit was him talking with me about my symptoms. Rather than mess around he arranged for me to have 3 extensive tests done. Today was first test, CT Scan, in & out within 20 minutes. All around very satisfied so far. read more

I was referred here by my family doctor. My first visit was fine, but I didn't feel much like the front staff were customer orientated - just getting through the day until their shift was over. I've had bad days so I didn't think much of it. Went back again today and after checking in and waiting 30 minutes in the lobby, I had to hunt the front staff down and found out the doctor was running an hour late! No one said anything to me when I checked in, or when I had called to confirm they had my lab test results about an hour before I went in. Not going back. I'll drive over to Monterey if I have to. read more

Very unprofessional, Julie the person that sets up appointment, her greeting voicemail clearly says she will return call within 24 hours. Not true, I had to call back after 31 hours. Set up appointment once. I had a call from Julie rescheduled appointment. I had the 2 call from Julie to reschedule my appointment again, stating an emergency came up.... seriously?? This is my first negative review ever but I have to say it is well deserved. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Stephen A. Worsham a month out due to his schedule which didn't bother me. A week out his office called to cancel due to a pending surgery and, again, I was not upset and rescheduled my appointment a month from the cancellation. I arrive the day of my appointment at the designated time but I am greeted by the receptionist, in a very matter fact attitude, telling me that the doctor is an hour to an hour and a half behind schedule. I was upset and voiced my displeasure to the receptionist. I decided to wait as I had driven 40 minutes out of my way. After about a hour plus, a nurse calls me in and takes my vitals and goes over a few particulars. She then tells me the doctor will be right with me. After waiting 45 minutes in the room, I leave room and ask the nurse if she forgot me and she apologizes and tells me absolutely not and the doctor will see me really soon. I return to the room and wait another 15 minutes. The at this time the nurse returns to tell me that the doctor has an emergency surgery and we will need to reschedule. To say i was upset is probably an understatement. I told the nurse I understood it was not her fault but the way the doctor ran his business was unprofessional and did not understand how he continued to remain in business. The doctor was in the hallway and heard our discussion. He made a feeble attempt at an apology. "It is beyond my control". But considering all the other reviews, it is a pattern of lack or respect for his "customers" and although they offered another appointment the next day, I do not feel this is the type of doctor I want taking care of me. Love coming here! So happy I was connected with them through my doctor. Dr. Apaydin is always so kind and patient with me and my husbands many questions. He always did what was best for me, listened to my concerns, needs, and wants and made sure I understood what was happening at all times. He even suggested coming back in weeks prior to my wedding and honeymoon to ensure that everything was looking okay and to see if I had any kidney stones growing, that way nothing bad came up doing this important time. I cannot say enough about the treatment I received from Dr. Worsham and staff. I originally went to the ER on a Saturday for abdominal pain which ended up being kidney stones. I was referred to Dr Worsham but ended up going back to the ER Sunday . I ended up having a stint put in due to scar tissue damage from a previous stone in 14' . Dr. Worsham was informative before and after the procedure . I have had a couple appointments since the procedure was done and had the stint removed in their surgery center behind the office.Dr Worsham is also adamant about finding out the root cause of my stones so we can hopefully avoid this problem in the future. The office staff was always friendly and helpful. One final thought after reading other reviews here. This is a Drs office not a pizza joint, so sometimes an appointment may run a little longer then another. Everybody's body is different and everybody has different issues and concerns. I would rather have a Dr take his time,be thorough and address all issues and concerns then have a Dr on a very strict time schedule that will take off without meeting my expectations. read more
