So I came here for dinner one night cuz my friend and I were in the mood for some Mexican. She found this place online so we decided to give it a go. Overall the food here is ok-good for Americanized Mexican cuisine. It's not authentic but we left full and satisfied. The interior was quite nice and comfortable and our server was friendly and good about checking up on us although at times she lacked professionalism and brought the wrong order to our table. We had chips with salsa and queso for our appetizer which was pretty average, nothing out of the ordinary or outstanding. We ordered different combination items. I had a tostada, chalupa, and beef taco supreme style (lettuce, tomatoe, & sour cream). I meal tasted good but each item tasted exactly the same as the other. They lacked diversity from each other and I felt like I had tortilla chips with ground beef, frijoles, queso, topped with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. I guess you can say it all meshed together the only difference being a taco shell vs a tostada. If you want a more authentic place I highly recommend "taqueria el patron" off of Washington rd. the restaurant itself is smaller than Monterrey but the food and style of food is a lot better and more authentic. Btw, we noticed Monterrey sold candy which was cool but we wondered why they didn't sell the awesome Mexican candies that you can't find in most grocery stores??? read more

Compared to the other options for Mexican food in Augusta Monterrey's isn't my favorite but its still good. The food is always hot regardless of the amount of people that are being served and the staff are super friendly. I went with a group of about 20 people recently and even though I could see the anxiety we caused the hostess on arrival we were seated almost immediately at a banquet-esque table down the middle of the front room. Everyone's order came out correct and fairly quickly. Our checks were handled well and no one got their cards or cash back incorrectly. Two and a half. The food was okay but the fried ice cream was awful. And they upcharge you for every single penny they can get. $1.95 for cheese and onions? C'mon. Most of the wait staff was pretty nice but a few of them glared at me. I'm not sure what I did by walking in and smiling at the hostess, but I'm sorry? We each ordered taco lunch salads and they were bland and small. The amount of greens would fit in a coffee mug. One tomato on top of the skimpy greens was not ripe and anemic in its pink color. Don't even waste your time. The food was nasty, bland, and unappetizing when you look at it. The chips were stale and they claimed they were unable to get us fresh chips. Great food! I have been here several times and never disappointed. It is your typical Mexican restaurant, only better. Karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday nights is a great family-friendly atmosphere. Saturday nights there is also karaoke and it's more of an adult-atmosphere, but it is always fun. read more

This is possibly the best Mexican Restaurant ever. The food is great the guacamole is fresh. Definitely a great dining experience.

I have to say I was very disappointed with this Mexican restaurant. The food seemed like it was from a can and not freshly made. The margaritas we ordered were on the rocks, they were watered down, no flavor what's so ever just like the food. One time only at this restaurant and also the LAST!!! For a long time i had always visited this location with my wife at least once a week, but because I had surgery stayed away for a while. Today I visited my friends again, and I'm happy to say that these people are the best employees Monterrey could have. They are honest, always trying to help the customers, and the food is delicious. Going to this place is like going to see your family. You are treated like you're part of the family. Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Trejo are two of the most friendly people I have ever know. Let me mention the rest of the staff, they are all working with a good attitude, and that is very appreciated. Whoever owns this location should be very proud of his employees. I decided to stop by for lunch today with my 8 month old since we were in the area shopping. I definitely enjoyed this place. The lunch menu was very affordable. I got the beef fajita meal. The food was pretty good. Nothing super special but for the price it was worth it and my little one enjoyed it with me. Our server was very friendly as was the rest of the staff I was in contact with. I plan on bringing my husband and other 2 kids back at a later date. read more

This is the first time I hav been to this location in a while. The parking lot does not give one a lot of confidence. We went in and were seated immediately. The place was fairly empty and we were seated at a booth. the booth was large and comfortable. The table was well worn and in need of replacing/refinishing. Chips and salsa were immediately brought out and they were good. The waiter was prompt with our drink order. One thing that I noticed is that they have some pretty good specials. They had 6 hard tacos for $5 for Monday so I gave them a try. The tacos had beef, lettuce, and cheese. I poured some of the salsa on a taco and went to town. They were really good and meaty. I will be surprised if they can keep this deal up. It also appears they have some pretty good deals on other nights as well. I thinnk I will have to make another visit in the near future to try them out. The star I take away is a combination of the parking lot, the table needing to be replaced, and the food didn't all come out at the same time. read more

Okay food (there's no GOOD mexican food anywhere in Ga...I'm from Texas), horrible service. Asked waiter for a spoon so my daughter could eat her rice with more ease, NEVER got it. Was never checked on, asked the host to refill my water. I asked for a bill, waiter brought me a box. Not his fault he can't speak English..but it IS managements fault for not making sure he knows the minimal amount in order to properly serve guests. read more
