Great new Italian bakery in the neighbourhood ~ fresh donuts, cookies, pies, danishes, cakes & more! I bought sugar chocolate cream filled donuts, lathe eclairs and blueberry cheese + strawberry cheese danishes on my 1st visit ~ fresh and not overly fried or sugary. Apparently donuts disappear quick, so get there early. For such an early start, they already have plenty of repeat patrons. Happy to see them there & will be back

The donuts are great, they have one of the best chocolate dip donuts, fluffy and a bit chewy, the chocolate cover is rich but not overly sweet.

SOLID good, smaller Italian bakery with friendly service! The bakery itself is located in a residential area in N Etobicoke, in a small strip plaza. Along the back wall, there is a small deli counter with cold cuts and some sandwiches/square slices of pizza. On the longer wall is the bakery stuff with a small, hot table, a glass showcase with donuts, some pastries in the front window, and loaves of bread on the back. I found the staff helpful and friendly! The young man even described the different textures of the bread which I thought was very helpful in my decision making. I picked up a handful of baked goods and the standouts was a sugar twist - I never get this, but the girl who worked there said it was a popular item - and the lobster tail. Lobster tail was quite small though, but the crispy, flaky pastry was fresh and delicious! I never got any donuts, but if it's the same dough as the sugar twist, they'd probably be good to! Dough was light, airy, and it didn't taste heavy to me. I didn't really like pistachio cannoli, the cream was too heavy and almost an icing-like thickness. Much too heavy. None of their items were too sweet which I liked! One thing that would be great is if there were signs for their Café Menu/Desserts/Pastries availability with prices. There was only 1 sign with the kinds of cold cuts that were available.

    Review Highlights - Montesanto Bakery

The chocolate dip is thick and adds a smooth texture, sweet enough for dessert but not sweet enough to give you a sugar crash.

It looked like a place that has not changed in many decades- so it had a vintage vibe. During my visit, it was quite busy as it was just after 12 noon on Saturday. I read that this place has very good pastries, so that is what I decided to purchase. There were two friendly ladies working behind the counter, so I called one of them to ask for help. She informed me that each item is priced by weight, so after confirming the prices, I purchased three cannolis (three different flavours) and one cream-filled doughnut. Then she let me know that I can pay for them at the checkout close to the exit. After paying for the items, I brought them home to try with my husband. We enjoyed both items- however, if we had to pick our favourite, it would be the cannolis. The exterior was so crunchy (and very satisfying) and the filling was smooth and creamy. Each flavour had the right amount of sweetness to satisfy our cravings! The doughnut was good- it had the smooth and creamy custard filling, but the dough tasted a bit hard (so it was not as pillowly as we thought). The next time I am in the area, I look forward to checking out their other items. If you are in this area, support local and check out this family-owned bakery!

They're in the Crossroads plaza, so it's very accessible and there's ample parking. I wanted to take my daughter out for a little treat. She was finally recovered from a nasty bug so I wanted something nicer than the Tims. Unfortunately, it didn't look so nice when we first came in, because it was busy and the staff weren't able to keep up with bussing the tables. That's how 3.5 became 3 instead of 4. I'm glad to report, though, that things were cleared while we were still there. The Christmas decor made sitting at our table mote cheery. They also have a decent bathroom each for men and women. We chose our treats from the case and our beverages. I ordered a large decaf, but was surprised and disappointed when it turned out to be instant. I wished I had ordered the latte instead. Our cake slices (red velvet and chocolate) were fresh and tasty, very much on point with American standard taste and sweetness. They have a huge selection of both Portuguese and American style goodies to choose from. I love that prices are reasonable. I also appreciated that tipping is still treated as customer discretion. Even though your order is brought to your table after you've lined up and paid, there is no automatic tip screen to deal with before you actually pay. From now on, whenever I happen to be around this plaza, I will be far more likely to come here than the Tims.

We walked in and I was immediately impressed by how vast and spotless the place was. This is one enormous place. There's a ton of seating in the main area, and if that's not enough, there's a whole other seating area around the corner. Everything looked really tasty but we decided to try a couple of savory pastries, both of which were delicious and fresh. For my drink, I went with the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew ("Cold brew coffee with vanilla and topped with sweet cream"), which certainly quenched my thirst and need for a pick-me-up. I want to single out the staff, too. Everybody was super friendly and helpful, and the manager even stopped by our table and offered our daughter a complimentary bear-shaped madeleine. Paris Baguette is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. We'll definitely be returning.

They have deli sandwiches in their fridge and the Harvest Chicken sandwich was delicious. The Mochi donuts are a good atyempt and mimicing their asian counterparts but was way too greasy. Staff was very friendly. Prices are steeper than other local bakeries so keep this in mind.

TURMERIC CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH (5/5) I usually find whole-grain breads to be dense and a bit stiff, but theirs was incredible -- the crust had a perfect crunch while the inside stayed soft and fluffy. I was genuinely surprised by how light it felt. The chicken was still moist and well seasoned. The cashier that helped me was extremely kind, recommend to toast it, and sliced it in half for me. MATCHA PISTACHIO COOKIE (4/5) The cookies were just as impressive: moist and tender in the center with a subtle crisp around the edges. You can really tell they care about texture and quality. This cookie is made with almond flour so you'll expect crispy yet chewy texture you'd get from a macaron. It highlighted both matcha and pistachio flavors well, usually I feel bakeries don't capture those subtle flavors well enough, but they did well! SESAME COOKIE (3/5) This sounded interesting to me because there was tahini in the ingredient list, but I didn't love it. I'm not much of a cake cookie person, but if you are a shortbread snickerdoodle person, I think you'd enjoy it. COLD BREW (5/5) Refreshing and balanced. They have a cute history on how they first started selling their bread a decade ago at a coffee shop and finally became their own. INSIDE It has two tables to seat a party of 4 and 2. The store itself is full of tasteful products selected by the owners and many made in Canada! Hoping to come back to try more of their sourdough products, looks like that's their bread and butter.
