I'm forever thankful for my daughter's teachers at Montessori Academy. It's a great feeling to drop my daughter off for the day and not have to worry if she's in good hands or not. Our daughter attended Montessori Academy for over two years before she transitioned into Kindergarten last August. She greatly enjoyed her time there and as parents we were extremely happy with the school. Ms Angela who is the headmistress of the school is wonderful. She loved the kids and we used to have great conversations with her during pickups. Our daughter started right after the covid pandemic. After being cooped up at home during the pandemic she greatly enjoyed the activities at the school. She stayed there from 8.30AM to 5PM. There were special classes for Yoga, Karate and Gardening. There is a lot of space in the front yard and backyard of the school. The kids played there in the afternoon. We attended the Christmas ceremony where the kids performed songs and yoga on stage and it was awesome! However, the most important aspect of this school is hands-on training. Our daughter became quite independent after she started attending the school. She started to take care of her things such as picking up her toys, cleaning up the papers after her scissor work, and eating with her own hands. We know that Ms Angela had put in a huge amount of time and effort to encourage her to eat on her own. As parents it was a huge boon. On the teaching front also we saw huge development. The school focuses on the Montessori method of teaching. Younger kids did a lot of fun activities with drawing, singing, dancing, painting, scissor work, playing with shapes and beads. Ms Jasmine then taught them the sight words, counting to 50 and addition. It was a very smooth and easy transition for her in kindergarten. Overall, we have very fond memories of the school and the teachers and would recommend it highly to all parents in the Burbank/Glendale area. read more

I cannot express how amazing this place has been for my family, but i will do my best... When we started here my son was 3 years old. He was very shy and reserved. We would go to a park and he would be hugging my leg the whole time and just watching other kids play... 6months or so of care at this academy and he is running around making friends all on his own. Sharing toys etc... We read bedtime stories together every night but i can hardly take credit for my sons reading comprehension. He can read at a second grade level according to the books I buy us! not to mention is arithmetic skills blossoming as well, completing activity books designed for 1st graders. he's only 5! As a single dad I cant always afford to put him in every extracurricular activity but many of the times they were still able to take him in so he doesn't feel left out. He participated in yoga and kung fu, and was always excited to share a pose or move he learned that day. He also felt more confident to handle situations with other children, and when to bring it to the teacher. They have let me borrow these "Joy Berry" books on multiple occasions to read as bedtime stories to highlight specific teaching lessons i wanted to drive home at that time. (sharing, lying, germs etc...) as well as being a wealth of parenting solutions i have been able to rely on time and time again. I could not thank miss angela, miss jasmine, miss jolisa, miss neri and miss anna enough for all the love and support they have been during our stay here, I can only hope his future teachers live up to the high standards they have set!! read more

This school is absoulutely amazing. Our son attended there from the age of 3 until we moved several months later and during that short period of time he developed so much. The thing that makes this school special is the teachers and staff. Our son had a special bond with Ms. Gail. Even the director, Ms. Angela, is personally involved with each of the children on a daily basis. It is so obvious that they truely care about the children. They even encourage them to finish their lunch and if they don't they try to get them to finish it later in the afternoon for a snack. We are so lucky to have them in our lives. Unfortunately bad experience. Angela promised the world and the place looks amazing with all the wonderful montessori play station and activities but..they left my child in diaper for hours on end of pee and poop my son would come home with severe diaper rash; today i caught them. I sent him with a diaper strap marked; i changed that at 820am dropped him off at 845pm. My sister came to pick him up after witnessing some bad things in the playground; same diaper at 1230pm full of pee poop his pants underwear old, red sore bottom crying unhappy. The mark I made was same there. I have brought this up to use diaper cream they refused since March 15 same small tub i gave them still there. My son came home 4 to 5 times a week with rash; if he did not have a bowel movement at home prior to school I knew he would come home with diaper rash severe. I brought it up many times but I proved today it was not done his last day i pulled him out; Angela tried to say they change the diaper; when I told her about the strap diaper that i do not supply them only pull up with my mark she had nothing to say but bring me false diaper chart saying someone changed him at 10am with diaper they dont have lol. Using my diaper on other children. Lunch was never heated; my son loves rice and kabab with butter ontop; the butter was never melted. I brought this up many times to them my son had to eat cold lunch since March. Clothes missing; especially on the day he did not have a bowel movement; he would have one there it would get his clothes so dirty; they would nto return it to me it would "get lost." placing someone else clothes on my son, losing the clothes he had one and the extra in the back. Cuts, bruses, scraps, rashes, bites almost every day!! Notes left by teach Josely not english, unable to read her writing; she would never know why this happened or explain. Monday pick up severe cuts on both knees both elbows; note did not say a word what happened; Tuesday drop off teacher Josely said it was there prior to me dropping him off. I let her know it was not that this happened at school. I told her her note was not in English. Son would keep telling me a child name that this child is hurting him every time there was injury he would tell the same name; when I brought it up; they could not tell me anything. Teacher Armenian one who teaching 3-4 is rude mean and made sure my son did not get a class picture; making comments in appropriately that Angela herself confirm she has issues mentally and does not get along with adults but he is great with kids. That teacher rolled her eyes every time i brought my son in. My son has severe allergy to milk; took me warning on all part of his body and item to stop them and make sure they know not to give him milk. Took 4 weeks to make sure the revolving door of caregivers and teacher knew he had milk allergy. Caught them almost giving my son milk product one and stopped them. Caught them watching TV in the back many times; came in and saw they where watching TV and teacher Josely apologized. They never did school project she did not charge supply fee why bc they never did anything. Today after investigation; my sister sat in her car and videoed teacher grabbing the children arms forcefully; pushing them into the small gate area where they have the outside toys very small area; she pushes the children inside; closed the gate and allowed my son to cry cry cry and just cold heartly did nothing. My sister watched them multiple times screaming at the children in cold way. My sister today after witnessing the gate situation in the same cage area they place the kids to play; came up to the teacher; asked her why she is doing this; she was told Angela tells us to make sure they play only here so they dont get dirty in the huge parking lot bare cement area the calls a playground. We witnessed my son being in the filed from 2pm to 530pm daily and the cage from 10am to 1145pm. This happened multiple times. Today we had enough and confronted her about this. My sister picked up my son with dirty same diaper as the morning i dropped him off. Cuts bruises and floor bruin marks all over. Face dirty crying. She allows sick children to come to school with coughing sneezing and runny noise; my son has gotten sick 4 times in 4 months being there why bc she only sends them out if they have a fever. She told me dont worry if he has those as long as no fever he can come. My son has fold avoidance and needs to be feed at times and encouraged to eat; Angela promised us to help us out with this; but I noticed my son meals come home same not eaten brought this up many times before they actually help him out. Water bottle full did not drink water at all, food not eaten to the point he lost weight. I brought this up to them many times; armenian teacher told me Angela does not let us feed the children. We initially chose this place not because of the price, but the way we toured the place and how the curriculum was presented and how the place looked. It looked like a place of learning and highly organized. We monitored closely, just right outside the school while our child was under their care. Our child was not happy at all. We also saw that they watched TV in the few times we were there (our child was in the back classroom) And the kids in the back didn't have any toys or anything at all. Nothing. During the tour we thought that the toys or learning items were stored away. But after a few times of dropping our child off, the back room literally had nothing. Kids were on the floor watching TV. Our child still didn't have a good time after a few times there. We also noticed, while the kids ( including our kid) were outside playing, that when our child was crying in the yard, the teacher didn't comfort him (we were hiding in the car and peaked from time to time). He was crying for an entire hour. Nothing at all. And she screamed at another kid that started crying as well, stating something down the lines of "what's wrong with you? Why are you crying?". Instead of consoling the kid or try to distract him. Also when they were outside, they only had one ball. The teacher wouldn't let the kids go to the playground area. So the place never gave us assurance that the teacher(s) gave the time to comfort crying kids nor any learning. And the teacher's communication style was below our standard. So we pulled our child out. The new place we found had a difference like night and day. The new place, our child started to like his teacher the second day and would start talking about his friends and the activities they did (coloring with hands, playing ball, playground, etc). read more

We have been attending this Montessori Daycare for about a year and a half now and our daughter has absolutely thrived! The growth that we've seen in her, especially in speech development is remarkable. She started with Ms. Joeliza which we still love dearly and coming into school with her cheerful good mornings is always so refreshing knowing my daughter will be well taken care of. Montessori Academy is an amazing school. All of the teachers and staff are warm and friendly. My two year old son feels right at home, and he is always treated like family. The Director Ms. Angela is loving, but firm when needed. She brings in a music instructor every Wednesday and all of the kids love it. Friday is pizza day for all of the kids who wish to participate. My son started last year here and he was quiet, shy and a little slow to talk. He also held onto his blankey and baby bottle and wouldnt let go for anyone or anything! This was a huge problem for alot of other places we looked at. They were quite adamant he would have to be potty trained and lose the bottle and blankey. Yeah right. Well, this was the only school that worked with us and assured me that it was ok and in his own time we would work together to progress, potty train and that and he would soon join in with the other children. After 2 months we saw him flourish, he quickly accepted a big boy sports drink bottle and no longer needed his blankey for comfort. 6 months later he doesnt stop talking. Ms Angela is such a loving soul, she knows each child inside out. She is highly professional, firm and fair. She really knows how to bring it the best behavior in each child. She has many stories about all the children she has cared for over the years and her fond memories are wonderful to hear. The other teachers are all so kind and very caring, the do so many activities. I've walked in many morning to see the older children meditating. They also have a yoga and a music teacher come in which is so wonderful. There is calm organisation here. The holiday performance was amazing to see and brought everyone together. You feel welcomed into the family and they are all just exceptionally patient and really have helped our son to progress. He certainly is far more talkative. His language skills and socialization has improved ten fold, he is well mannered and wakes up at 7am saying "school. Yeah ok, let's go!" To the negative reviews, I would say to any parent do your research, I always look at peoples profiles to decide who they are but ultimately this place won hands down from the secured coded gate, fully private building, clean facilities, well organized classrooms and wonderful teachers. There is always a cleaner every time I've come here. The smiles on the faces of all the parents dropping off and picking up their children say everything. 10/10 on every level. We took a lot of school tours from different school from burbank to glendale for our son. He was at grandview school for couple months then we pulled him out of there because of bad experience with the teachers. We are so happy to find this school like a gem in glendale. The fee is reasonable compared to other schools. Our son loves Ms Gail and Ma Anna so much. And Ms Angela truly cares about the children. Normal principal at other school dont know much about the kids but Ms Angela she knows every single kids there. Even she knows what my son eat for lunch and how much he ate. And they always try to encourage him to eat more/ finish his lunch. They are truly nice and flexible and sympathy to the parents. When our son came to school late(middle of nap time) since he got some therapy, they still took him and tried to put him to take a nap. Now we moved to other place, his current school dont accept to take him during nap time and show some attitudes. I feel like family when I talk with Ms Angela and Ms Gail. They are super nice and patient and always willing to answer everything I ask about my son during the day. Compared to grandview house school that you got the same stupid reports everyday and couldnt talk with the teachers. We love this school wo much. So sad that we had to move to other place and everytime we pass this school, it reminds him of Ms Gail. He said Ms Gail is his favorite teacher. I am not a fan of this place... my son attended here only 2 months and it was the longest 2 months of my life he hated coming here and cried almost every morning hanging onto my legs like his life depended on it... teachers don't seem to have much education in child development(my opinion of them) my child was had bite marks on him when I picked him up and no one bothered to tell me. He had bruised on him 2 different areas and they forgot to tell.... they don't pay enough attention to the kids... not enough supervision especially to the little ones. Been about a year since I sent my girl to Montessori Academy in Glendale. Always wanted to post up a review but never got around to it. My family lives in Downtown Los Angeles. We looked all over the place for a preschool for our daughter who is now about to turn 4. We sent our daughter to Montessori Academy for about 1 year. Started when she was around 2.5 years of age and ended at about 3.5 years of age. Eventhough the commute to and from school was approximately 2 hours each day, it was well worth it. Now with the birth of our 2nd, the commute was unimaginable with the newborn in the car so we had to change schools. We loved the Montessori Academy. Ms Angela was always sweet, yet firm when necessary with the children. The main teachers for both the baby class as well as the preschool classes were also great. There was a nice mix of ethnicities in each of the classes. There is a large enough play area/fenced in parking lot that the kids had play time outside as well. We even planned on moving into the Glendale area just for the school. Can't say enough great things about Montessori and the program Ms. Angela runs. read more

Don't let the word Montessori FOOL you, at least not at this school. I have to agree with Zakia M., the other commentator. I have been taking my child to this Daycare (not preschool) for 7 months now. The place is a mess and disorganized. MS. Angela is the so called Director who is there between 1100-1200 and is gone by 6pm. As far as I see, the teachers are not qualified nor do they know how to deal with little kids. It took my child months to adjust to his teachers and up until now he has regressed instead of progressed. The play ground area, not much to play with and in a very dangerous setting. Kids are running and playing basketball in an asphalt parking lot. Bathrooms: YUK, dirty and old, the cleaning lady cleans it with some strong bleach or cleaning material which has a strong smell and definitely not good for the kids. Ms. Angela is aware of this and has done nothing for many months now. CLASS ROOM: 25 kids and 1 1/2 teachers. The attention that every kids gets is very minimal and not enough for a so called private school. I have asked if parents can attend and sit in the class room with the kids, and the answer has been NO every time. She said you can watch the class from the outside window, this way the kids or your child does not get distracted. Unfortunately I have to stick to this for few more months. My kids have gone to other daycare schools which were far superior. No disrespect intended for some of the good teacher who work there and are trying there best with a low $9 an hour wages. In a nut shell, I think this place is lacking the credential and school lacks the organizational skills to run a preschool, and of course this starts from the director and down. read more

Ms Angela has run this preschool for over 22 years. I have visited other preschools and chose (and will always choose) this preschool. The Montessori teachers are qualified and they care. The school is safe and all rooms are monitored by cameras. There are gates all around the church & school. I have never seen the children unattended. They potty trained both of my children and taught them the alphabet, simple spelling, simple math, simple reading, and how to interact with other children. I am so proud of what both my sons have learned at Ms. Angela's preschool. It is clean, decent price, flexible hours, personal attention, plenty of activities, learning and play. They allow the children to have birthday parties with their friends where you can bring food & presents and participate with your child in the party if you like or they will set it all up for you (alot of places don't allow this). There are also dance classes, karate lessons, and a holiday show in December that the kids work so hard on - every parent treasures this performance as evidenced by the 50 parents siting on the floor in the front row with cameras rolling! Not very happy. Long story just my advise "don't trust all you hear." The whole nap time of 2 hours was torturous. When I started my 4 1/2 year old I was told what I wanted to hear and in actuality it was totally different. The nap time was wrong, the food time was wrong and after I complained they changed it for a week and again started the same process. My son ended up being forced to lay down for 2 hours - can you lay down for two hours and stair at the wall? - than why would you force a child to do it? and after again my complains they changed it to one hour and one hour with the teacher which I had no way of verifying. To make the long story short my son went here for just a 1 1/2 and I ended up paying for 2 1/2 months and a deposit. Apparently 4 verbal warnings are not sufficient enough and they need written notice or you pay like I did. I wasted a lot of money and time for nothing. He is in a new school now and loving it. He goes to school without a complaint and is finally a happy kid again. read more

This school is fantastic!! Angela is a wonderful person and cares very much for her school, its reputation and most importantly, the children. My son loves it here and cannot wait to get to school each day. We just moved from NY to LA and were wondering how he would adapt to the new environment, but Ms Ana (his teacher), made him extra comfortable. When we go pick him up in the evenings, he's full of smiles and tells us about his day with so much enthusiasm. I highly recommend this place. My daughter has been attending this school since she was two. She will be four next month. To say she is advanced would be an understatement and I have TMA Glendale to thank for helping to enrich her learning. She is fat more advanced than her friends who attend other preschools. Her teachers Ms. Jasmine and Ms. Lucy are very passionate teachers. The administrator Angela makes you feel like your child is a part of her family. We tried Rainbow prior to here, and though it was satisfactory, Montessori seems more attentive and more personable. Great pre-k, all around. Though it's not the newest building, I'll take beget curriculum over shiny paint any day of the week. read more

the play area is a stark parking lot, little shade. while we had our son there (for a few months) i frequently heard teachers yelling at kids, and making fun of kids when i came to pick up my son. the bathrooms are dingy. not a loving or clean environment for your kids. read more

I found about this Montessori from my neighbor in Burbank and her kids were students of this Montessori 35 years ago. I later found more parents that say their kids have the fondest memories here, The teachers here have been with the school for years. I enrolled my kids here because of it being so close to Disney where I work. My kids started here as toddlers at the age of 2 and now four years later my kids are ready to move on to elementary. The school was instrumental in potty training both my kids. My kids are a year apart and I watched them pick up from the older kids new words, counting, volcanoes and dinosaurs, octopus' and the pizza song. They have learnt so much and I am so thankful. The teachers were amazed during their assessment test for school. Ms. Angela, is always so understanding and straight. My daughter was with Ms. 'princess' Jasmine and Ms. Lucy and goes in giving them a hug everyday. My son was Ms. Ana and Ms. Elle and loves to take little things to school to show them. Ms. Anahit with the toddlers is been with them for so many years and now her daughter helps out at the school. The school offers dance, yoga, music classes that make it so convenient. This school ranks high amongst other schools in the Glendale/Burbank area! We had both our daughter and son enrolled since 2011, for six years now and all of their teachers had been very caring, warm, knowledgeable, and genuine! Ms Anjila Bible runs a top notch school! This school has a Christmas show each year that the kids work very hard for and it is held at the church. This school is very dear to me and to see all of the kids perform their heart out shows you the hard work these teachers do for the kids. The price of the school cannot be beat compared to other schools. My son loves coming here everyday and when I pick him up, he is all smiles! They have a big running area for the kids outside, activities for the kids, music, daily science learning projects, and learning numbers and letters. It's not a fancy school but what matters are the caring teachers and the school director that really cares for their kids. I wish I have the time to recommend them to every parent close by, at least I finally wrote a review that is long overdue! Don't wait, enroll your kid here! Both of my children have been enrolled in Montessori Academy. My oldest now in first grade, attended for three years, and received an exceptional start to her education here, and I have Miss Jasmine, Miss Lucy, and the principal, Miss Angela, to thank for her success. My youngest, now three, who started in the toddler class, and is now in the "big kids" class, is also doing very well. Miss Rocio was her teacher in the toddler class. She is now in Miss Lucy and Miss Jasmine's class, and still has a strong bond with Miss Rocio, and has a wonderful relationship with Miss Anna and Miss Arsenev as well. I researched and visited several pre-schools (Montessori and otherwise) in the Burbank and Glendale areas, and nothing else compared. The teachers here are warm and loving, and truly care about each and every child, understanding and catering to their needs as individuals, while guiding them through social, emotional, and educational development. I believe that they handle discipline well, by being firm but not punishing, and in an age-appropriate, way communicating how a child's behavior affects other people and the classroom at large, and teaching the importance of taking responsibility for their actions. I think this is SO important in today's society, and I see how this has positively affected my older daughter at her first year in a large public school, where she has transitioned into the high standards of a specialized intensive education program very well. I highly recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a caring environment where their children will receive a head start on their educational, emotional, and social development. read more
