Some days my little only gets out of bed and gets dressed without crying because we ask if she wants to go see Mimi and her whole attitude changes for the morning. This is something special and tells you a lot about how she treats these kids for them to WANT to be away from home with someone other than mom or dad or grandma etc. She deserves to be recognized and rewarded as she has made our life significantly easier and with peace of mind that comes with knowing you don't have to worry about the care you child receives. I am saddened to watch my son go there, knowing he hates it and says "momma here sad, here sad" every single morning. I am saddened by knowing that they change his diaper only TWICE in a whole 12 hour span and has this inhumane rash that eill not go away and every time i pick him up he has a diaper sagging filled with pee and poop tgat i have to ask them to change (they always pretend that they "just" changed him, really? Every time he just happens to have overflowing diaper?). I am saddened seeing my son come back to me hurt physically each and every single day, every day it's a new excuse and now they don't even tell me that he got hurt, i get the agony of finding that my child is hurt and neglected all on my own, nightmare of an idea. I'm saddened to see him starving and begging for food the second he sees me, shouldn't he be fed? This is a toddler that eats everything, not a picky eater at all. The new director is less caring than the old one and neither could retain the good staff members. When everyone runs away, then you know there's something going on. They WILL and DO neglect children (I've witnessed it), they WILL and DO speak harshly to children (I've seen it first hand), they WILL and DO rob you blind while impeding growth of children while taking on the label "CHRISTIAN" to make believe without even a single Christian behavior. Sad, supremely sad how we pay so much to watch our children hurt mentally, physical and with growth. I'm having to wait out the 2 weeks notice, it's agonizingly long.

Not for abusing other children of any sort but because he throws "tantrums and falls out" "runs away from the teachers", basically be a 2-year-old. We had 1 conversation/meeting to discuss plans for my son to help him when he is upset and crying and not falling asleep with other children. I met with her GAVE THE SUGGESTIONS she did not come to me with a plan just called me to complain or ask to pick him up. There has never been a complaint from the teacher just the teacher's assistant and the assistant director both who seem inexperience but isn't at least the assistant director is not. The plan was not documented nor was it executed consistently but somehow; she expected change from a 2-year-old. The decision was made abruptly as she singled out my son and even tried to PLAY DOCTOR saying things like "we don't have the resources" several times during the conversation of her kicking my son out and saying "he gets over stimulated in certain settings" so you're implying that my son needs "special" attention. She also let it slip and said, "how much longer do you want my teachers to PUT up with him". YES! She said that! No sorry just "Okay poor choice of words". Yes I let her have it for sure because you have NO IDEA WHAT YOUR DOING! An experienced person in this field would KNOW BETTER THAN TO SAY THAT TO A PARENT! This is a "Christian" daycare quoting the bible Ephesians 2:10. I guess my son was too UNIQUE according to Doctor Interim Director Casey. She has no business running a daycare as she has admitted that she didn't know how to handle my son falling out and stated that 7 times within a 15-minute time span of our first conversation. Kicking him out would have been fine had they went the route of "hey we will try again but if things don't change, we may need to release your son" But she did NOTHING of the sort just all of a sudden, hey you have until end of June. Then retracts that and says actually next week, no explanation; nothing. He is the only black boy in that class and there are NOT that many at the entire daycare. As I said the TEACHER had NO ISSUE with my son that she felt could not be managed. Casey said she cared but then put the stress and strain on a family 2 days before his birthday fun at the daycare and with a week notice. Hire the right person and remove this interim before she really runs this place in the ground. You do need to enjoy what you do and it be a calling for you in this field and this is not for her clearly. You're in Texas and private but expelling a kid for no real reason with 0 documentations, infractions, plans nothing?? Right. BIG MISTAKE! My son did not have issues before she arrived. Also teach some of your younger and new assistants to be patient and NOT tell parents everyday "they had a bad or good day today". Let these parents make it sometimes with just a pick up! After months of my son attending, he was truly the happiest he's ever been every single day I picked him up. That true spirit of JOY we are all born with was absolutely glowing in him from drop off and throughout the day, all the way to pick up time. I loved seeing the framed pictures on the walls of the prayer team praying over the building as it was built. It's our duty as parents to pray over our kiddos, invite the Holy Spirit into the building with us, and to remember it's not just the responsibility of the teachers and admin to do it all. We are all in this together. My son made amazing friends in his class. Other teachers were always so polite and friendly and loving when we'd see them in the hallways. God blessed us in our season with Sonshine, as it's been a few months since we moved, but my son still asks when we're going to see Ms. Rae and Ms. Miya, his teachers he had while he was at Sonshine. They made a tremendous impact on him with their patience, love, and while teaching him. We are forever grateful for Sonshine Preschool.

I had just saw his classroom and counted about nine children, clearly not a full class, when the student to teacher ratio is 1:11 and there are 2 teachers. From there, the situation became even more concerning. Rebecca went into the office, whispered with Chris, the owner, and returned stating : there were actually no spots available and my son was second on a waiting list. After voicing my concern about being told there was availability, Chris came and spoke with me promising to call me back about the availability, but that call never came. Instead, I received a generic email confirming my son had been placed on the waiting list. This experience was not just disappointing as a single mom -- it was deeply troubling as this is a faith based school. The whispering in the office, the sudden contradictions, and the lack of follow-through made it clear that honesty and transparency are not priorities at this school. I would strongly caution other parents to look elsewhere. If this is how they handle new families at the door, I shudder to think how issues are handled once a child is enrolled.

Our time here ultimately ended due to a serious breakdown in professionalism involving classroom staff. A situation that should have been handled calmly and privately escalated into dismissive and confrontational behavior in front of children, followed by defensiveness rather than accountability. The tone and manner of communication were inappropriate for a childcare setting and left me deeply concerned about how conflict is handled when parents raise concerns. This was not a decision we made lightly after many years of enrollment. Parents should also pay close attention to the billing system. I was wrongly charged over $400 and had to fight to recover the money. The billing records are unnecessarily complicated, and it is extremely difficult to reach anyone beyond the center level to correct errors. It is concerning that funds can be withdrawn without clear, accessible accountability. I share this to encourage parents to remain vigilant, not only about staff professionalism and behavior, but also about billing accuracy and how concerns are addressed. Leadership matters, but so does the conduct modeled by the adults working directly with children every day.
