I recently purchased my 3rd vehicle from Montgomery Motors....Gerard was our sales representative....I had been having issues with the 2nd car I had purchased...minor issues but I was unhappy because of them...I had been to service multiple times with this car and couldn't find any relief ....At my end I decided to try and trade...I was looking to go back to the 3rd row which lead me toward the Explorer....I still owed on my car and was unsure if I would be able to trade and still keep close to the same payment I was at. They did not have a Explorer on the lot in my price range...I ended up dealing with several of the guys up there and having to wait a few days but they were able to find me an Explorer with low miles and in very good used condition...I was also allowed a more than fair price on my trade....and payments were kept where I asked them to be...When I went to see the vehicle they had for me it was raining and Gerard had it backed into a service bay in the dry where we could look it over...He had also cleaned the vehicle and went with us on a test drive...As we were looking over the vehicle he was also pointing out any little nick or scratch he saw as well making sure we saw any imperfections..(because it was a used vehicle) ...I was allowed time to inspect...check other dealers pricing online, and to just play around in the vehicle to be sure it was the one....Once we decided to buy...Gerard was by our side and very accommodating the entire time...He had the vehicle full of gas and had transferred our tags while we were signing....I have been upset in the past with Montgomery Motors...but I seen a lot of new faces there this trip received exceptional service and am very pleased with my Explorer....I have to send Thanks to Gerard and Kevin for putting up with my approval process...(little sister)...and taking the time to answer or find answers to all my questions!! Also want to mention the other fellas who helped in our deal... Dan Parsons -who took my first call and listened to all my complaints from the vehicle I was trading and took time to set me up with Gerard to take care of us..Kevin Smith for finding me a nice clean used vehicle like I was wanting in my price range...and all the other fellas up there who I don't know your names for keeping my girls full of popcorn while I shopped for a new ride!! I am sure I couldn't have gotten into the type of vehicle I am in now and out of the money owed on my trade without some extra effort from the crew at Montgomery Motors...I am thankful and happy with my Explorer and also want to say that once I told someone I was unhappy and unsatisfied that several fellas went out of their way to help me...Even giving me all their cell numbers before I left to call if I had any concerns or problems to call!! ...I pray this car will run trouble free for as long as I own it...which I plan to be a long time....but If I ever decide to trade I will definitely see what deal Montgomery Motors can offer..If your looking for a vehicle call Gerard at Montgomery Motors he has more patience that most and is very accommodating!! Disappointed Long-Time Customer - Poor Service Experience I've purchased six vehicles from Montgomery Motors in Troy, NC over the years, but after my recent experience, I will not be returning. On Monday, May 5, 2026, I visited the dealership to have two key fobs I bought on Amazon programmed. I was charged $75, but unfortunately, the fobs couldn't be programmed. While I was disappointed about that, I appreciated that they were at least able to give me the vehicle access code. Today, I returned with another Ford fob and asked if they could offer a discount since they were unable to program the previous two. The staff member I spoke with said no, stating that the service manager, Donna Miller, required full payment again. When I spoke to Donna directly, I received what felt like a lame excuse, and I left the conversation feeling disrespected. I then spoke with Mr. Thompson, the general manager, who was polite and understanding. However, by that point, I told him not to worry about it--I had made up my mind. I won't be purchasing another vehicle from Montgomery Motors. After years of loyalty, I expected better treatment. I urge others to weigh your options carefully before doing business with them. Customer loyalty should matter, and sadly, it didn't seem to in my case. read more

Purchased a used truck and was unable to test drive at their showroom but was assured it was mechanically in good condition and had been inspected prior to them offering it for sale. I had the truck delivered to my home and now with less than 200 miles the brakes are not working properly. i contacted my salesman and he told me I had the truck for too long ( 2 weeks) so too bad, they won't do anything to fix. Worst service every I bought a car from here in October and I still have not received my license plate they keep sending me temporary tags and always say they will call me back with a update and never return a call. I do not recommend shopping here. read more

Marvin M Found that I had a leak in my passenger rear tire and took it to Montgomery Ford in Troy NC dealership to get the tire plugged. I also have an extended warranty through Ford. Less than 1 hour later, I am told that they are unable to fix the tire because it is too thin to be replaired. They could get me new tires by Monday. When I got back to the dealership, i'm told I would need to pay fifteen dollars essentially to take off the bad tire and put on the donut tire since I was not going to have them put on the new tires. I told them that since they had not done anything to the vehicle that I would just drive it off their parking lot the same way I brought it in. I was told by the female in the service department that I could not take that vehicle because it would be a hazard on the road. REALLY!!! I informed them that I would take my vehicle and leave it as is again. A female manager came out and did agree to have my donut tire changed for me and at no charge! My opinion is that Ford montgomery is unscrupulous and untruthful. I took my vehicle back to HillBish in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Without telling them about what happened to me at the Montomery Ford dealership located in Troy nc, they fixed my tire and plugged it at no charge. Therefore, it was a lie about my tire, not being able to be fixed, as it was told to me by montgomery ford. They are just horrible trying to rip off people, and they lost out on an opportunity that I could have made them my dealership, what a tragic lost! read more

I bought my 2019 F150 new in June of 2020. I drove there from High Point to look at a V8. By the time I arrived it had been sold. The salesman said that he had an ECO boost on the lot. I stated that I did not want an ECO Boost because of the turbos and potential for problems down the road. He stated that as long as I got the oil changed there every 5,000 miles the powertrain has a lifetime warranty. So I looked at it and went for a test drive. Everything was great. I ended up purchasing it that day. The experience was the best that I have ever had buying a vehicle. I continued getting my oil changed every 5,000 miles until the service department stopped having Saturday hours. I live/work over an hour away and that was the only day I had to get it changed there. I spoke with them about not being able to get there during the week. They said that as long as I get the oil changed at another Ford dealer every 5,000 miles then the warranty will still be good. Well flash forward until this week. The service engine soon light came on. I took it to Green Ford in Greensboro where I have been getting the oil changed every 5,000 miles. The Cam Phasers went out. They quoted me $5,500 to replace. I called today and spoke with the service department and the salesman at Montgomery. Both informed me that it wasn't under warranty. I was lied to. The salesman said "I remember you but I wouldn't have told you that". I can't believe it. Honestly I really can't. Like I said it was a great experience purchasing the truck and when I would come there for oil changes. I feel betrayed. I've recommended several folks to buy vehicles there. Not any longer. Went into the dealership to have my tire repaired for a Ford Maverick. When I left the dealership and got home I noticed that my tire had been thrown in the back of the truck bed. That is not where that tire goes these people are so lazy that they don't even put the tire back where it should have been. If this is how they pay attention detail I would never take my vehicle there for any kind of repair work. So sloppy I would hate to think I took my vehicle by for an oil change and they left the oil cap out or didn't do something else that allow the oil to leak out and ruin my engine read more

Bought a GMC 2500 from here a week ago! Already have to replace the transmission control module. Told manager and he said there was nothing wrong with it when we bought it. Absolutely no help from anyone there! No call back no texts got to pay out of pocket! Don't buy anything here they don't fully inspect trade-ins just try to sell as soon as possible. read more

I was unfortunately here recently, with someone close to me----we got to the finance manager's office--I did NOT like the outlandish price----I suggested we leave----he became nervous--stating "It may not be here tomorrow"---WTF???? It was already 9pm!!!!! We did not have to fight off customers to get in the door-------I would NOT buy air for my bicycle tires from these white collar bandits! I can't say enough about this place! Tim and Candice were the absolute best. I was buying out of state and they made it easier than saying my name. They came through even when all Hope was lost without ripping me off and keeping me in the loop the entire time. Even spoke to me on their days off and on a holiday. Drove 4.5 hours to pick up a 2021 F150. My assumption was since buying from a Ford dealership a newer low mileage truck, things associated with buying from private owner or second rate used car lot wouldn't be present. Unfortunately they were. Basic questions about exterior and interior questions, scratches damage ect. answers I received, there were no issues. Some interior concerns I mentioned in photos were only after I noticed them. Upon arriving the truck was not in the shape verbally described vehicle was and under my expectation. Minor exterior damage and interior damage could have been corrected prior to sale were present or at a minimum mentioned. The Issues were promised to be corrected so I made the purchase. After I signed for the truck, I was presented only ONE key FOB cementing my underwhelmed feeling as I drove away. Later realized there was No emergency jack, truck needed an alignment and there was some additional damage to the truck bed. All should have been corrected or at minimum communicated to the buyer. It passed multi point inspection I'm assuming standard set my Ford. Overall its a good truck but, the lesson learned was not to assume all dealerships will meet what I'd consider a standard level service and transparency. Still waiting on the replacement interior/exterior parts. I won't be back. read more

I have a very difficult schedule to work around and therefore require a lot of electronic communication (vs coming into the dealership). Mr. Julian London was the recepient of my initial electronic communication, and we could not be more thankful! He is incredibly responsive, very respectful, knowledgeable, and customer focused! We stopped by the dealership to look at a car, and it ended up not being exactly what we were looking for, so instead of giving up (like many dealerships would), he kept working with us and the end result - a much nicer car than we ever thought we could be in for the payment we were looking for - so we are ecstatic with our Lincoln MKX! We also had the pleasure of meeting Scott who was very genuine and ensured our visit met our expectations - which it far surpassed! Again, we could not be more happy and excited about how easy this car buying process was, and the car we drove away in! Will definitely be back when it's time to upgrade our other car and would recommend to anyone looking for a vehicle! read more

BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE, I drove from Charlotte all the way Troy to look at a Vehicle. I ended up buying from these people, 10 days later I came back to pick up a key in which they lost. Only to find out These people have no appreciation for their customers at all , the sales manager is very Shrewd, arrogant and talks at you not to you. After driving 3 hours round trip wasting my time , gas and losing half a days wages over a key they lost I was offered only $10 in gas to make up for all I mentioned above , no consideration for their customers and what they go through, mind you I just bought a $24,000 vehicle from them 10 days before.. No type of thank you at all more like a middle finger in the air and a swift kick in the ass. No matter how good of a deal you think your getting I promise you it isn't worth your drive or time to deal with them.
