They do also host kids events at the library, as well as events like movies under the stars for the summer. Now, as I had a library card for this location, I really haven't used the library. Oh tho- my mom used the library for wifi when our power was out, and she said it was good, and quiet. Again though, I had a library card but didn't really use it. Think one time I was looking for Percy Jackson books and they didn't have it, and was a tween then. Anyways. Went here recently (note 3 stars) on Wednesday July 23rd 2025 because we were moving soon, and I had books and VHS tapes to donate. When I got there, they said no, we don't accept donations-- which i thought was kind of weird. After all, especially if they are vintage books that can still be applicable, donations should be considered. While the person who told me was pleasant and understanding- i just thought it was kind of weird.Again, having books, especially vintage ones may be of interest of have because then others would read them- like if their parents read this book, they might borrow the book for their kids. Now the books ending up going to a goodwill instead. At least i tried!

I'm not sure if the staff are volunteers or employees, but they consistently come across as having a chip on their shoulder. Today, I visited with my kids (ages 5-8), one of whom is on the autism spectrum. His stimming and occasional grunting are normal behaviors for him, but the staff showed no empathy or understanding. Instead, one employee repeatedly checked on us, constantly reminding us to lower our voices and enforcing rules without considering the circumstances. The overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming and overly rigid, especially for a place that should encourage children to learn, explore, and feel comfortable. While I understand the need for order, there's a balance between maintaining rules and being flexible enough to allow kids to be kids. I truly hope the library staff can undergo some training in inclusivity and customer service so it can become a space that feels welcoming to all members of the community.

Although most visitors don't make it to the area surrounding the mall, you should know that Woodbury is literally surrounded by State Parks, most notably Harriman State Park, West Point and the Storm King Arts Center. It's usually one of the New York City bridges or the Tappan Zee (Yes, I know it's the Mario Cuomo. I don't care for that.) but I'm a little bit further north and so it's the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge which is officially named for US Representatives Hamilton Fish III and IV. There's something to be said for name recognition. The bridge carries Interstate 84 over the Hudson, originally a single lane in each direction that was built in 1963, the second bridge was built in 1980. It is a continuous truss bridge. There is a toll to cross the bridge with payment taken only by transponder or bill-by-mail. Transponders, such as my North Carolina QuickPass, are $1.65. Driving over has had no issues for us for the most part, although, here and there, we would hit traffic. Some of that pertained to rush hour. In the area that it's in, you got to expect it to be busy since it's located in a prime location where people travel to work and also vacation. It can be a hassle, especially merging onto I-84 from 9D which requires caution and vice versa. The view is good for the most part, but not the best due to the lane being far from the rail - although, on some occasions, the further right lane may be open to view it clearly. Drive safely and enjoy.
