I have some friends who play pickleball here regularly. It's a long drive from DC, but worth the drive as they have nice courts and good players. Usually takes me an hour to get there. We play for 2 to 3 hours. I am looking forward to playing here more in the winter. They have good membership offers if you live in the area. read more

This place is the worst. You can never book court times on weekends. They are constantly changing things and add programs that block all the courts for several hours on the weekend. These leagues cost additional money added to what you already pay for membership. read more

Over a month ago I subscribed my son for a tennis class. We got several email reminders, and my boy was very excited to try playing tennis with his new racket. One day before the first lesson, the whole program was cancelled. The notice of cancellation was the last communication we received. Since then I've been writing and calling them getting absolutely no response. They are hiding and not refunding the fee we paid. If you do decide to use this place, take all necessary precautions: do not pay in advance; go there and get personal phone numbers from the staff BEFORE YOU PAY, so at least you'll have someone to call if you need a refund in the future. read more

I have been teaching tennis for 57 years and wrote a book about it. I found that uncertified tennis coaches did not know what they're doing. On October 2, 2022 I have observed a class of several young kids being taught. There were balls on the cart which the kids can trip over. The coach is working with one kid at a time. Certified coaches say the kids should be moving all the time because kids should be feeding each other The coach was not certified and does not plan to get certified because he's getting paid without certification. read more

If I could give the youth tennis lessons zero stars, I would. You do not get what you pay for. My kiddo preferred the tennis lessons through Montgomery County Recreation, but they fill up quickly, so we chose the tennis plex and were sorely disappointed. The class is taught by other kids most of the time, and it's not as fun and engaging as the MoCo Rec classes. My child did not learn anything new through the tennis plex. Please save your money and go elsewhere! read more

I had some hiccups in the beginning with my kids' lessons but after speaking with the manager and the coaches, I'm pretty pleased with the tennisplex. They listened to my issues and helped try to rectify the problems so that my sons could learn to their best ability and the best environment. Specifically, Coach Patrizio and Coach Richard are great instructors that take their time to instruct and encourage their students. My older son always comes away with new forms to learn and master. Although there are a couple of other students in his group lesson, my son expressed that he feels like it's a private lesson because of all the attention and instruction he receives. My younger son (age 6) has Coach Eleni, and she makes the lessons so exciting and fun that my son doesn't even think of it as a lesson but a fun time with her and the other new made friends. He is definitely getting the gist of tennis without feeling the pressure of learning but having fun. We ran into Coach Jack a handful of times, and he always took the time to check in and inquire how the kids were doing. He definitely seems available if we needed to correspond with him. We hope to continue our lessons with these instructors at the Tennisplex and advance in the game. read more

Absolutely waste of time and money. My 5 years old son was taking classes at another tennis club, but because of the schedule they offer, we swithed him to this one, and that was the biggest mistake. The instructors are trying to waste as much time as possible during the class, and they have no passion about teaching young kids. Now, my son almost hates to play tennis. There are better clubs out there with the same price, so don't go to this place. read more

My son started tennis lessons this past Saturday. He class has four different instructors that rotate between each group. One particular instructor was so rude to my son, and even asked him "Did your mother make you take tennis?" in a mocking tone. I called and talked to the program director, and she promised to follow up. It's been four days, and I haven't heard from anyone. I can't believe management hasn't taken my complaint seriously. I am thinking of asking for a refund. I believe kids going to a beginner class should not be berated and with management not contacting me, it feels as if this type of coaching is tolerated. read more

The program USED to be a whole lot better. Better coaches, better training, better agendas. Now, Jack does not even come to the training sessions anymore, the good coaches have been switched out with apathetic, bored coaches, and my son constantly complains about not receiving actual tennis training. There are only two coaches for 10 people on 4 courts, and they barely comment on how to improve, only "Nice Shot" or "Nice Try". There is almost no training going on, and my son doesn't improve from this program. As well as no learning going on, better players are constantly being matched with little kids. The Invitational program, which used to be full of high school students and a few middle school students, is now riddled with elementary school students who don't play tennis competitively and should be in the lower programs. It seems like they are busy with earning more money, and letting more of the littler, willing-to-pay students... The invitational program is a whopping $2,240 if you play there once a week, and the program is definitely not worth its price tag. The only things that are worth going is for the 1-hour fitness section and the facility, where you are motivated to work hard by the fitness coach there (whose name escapes my mind right now). However, this program is definitely NOT worth going to solely for the 1-hour fitness section. The facility is kept clean and the courts are nice, but probably because it is rather new (around a year or so). What used to be a great program turned bland when all the top players eventually left after realizing that coaches would continuously be fired and switched out with low-quality coaches with little experience and little motivation to improve the skills of students. Coach Grace (mentioned by Dan) was a great coach with high spirit, and she no longer works for TennisPlex. Patricio does not coach the higher level classes. This program is definitely spiraling downwards, and they are just using Jack Schore's name to garner customers, when he does not actually COACH there anymore; needlessly to say he doesn't even come visit. read more

The facility is great, however it is not being run properly. They did not salt the path to the bubbles during cold spells, be very careful else you can slip and hurt yourself. They have no respect for bookings and no respect for your time. We have reservations (made weeks in advance) but they gave it away to someone else. When we showed up, the lady at the office refused to talk to the folks playing at the court and kept calling numerous management people (seems like she is not empowered even though was the only management on site). They pretty much told us that since the folks playing are in the league, they cannot remove them. My recommendation is, find a better managed place as these folks are not going to respect your time and schedule (especially if someone who is a regular or league player shows up). read more

Variety of classes. Professional coaches. Very good player to coach ratio (normally max 5 to 1). Kids progress and develop quickly.

This is a great facility and Vicki Datlow runs a top-notch operation. My kids started here, and they got an excellent foundation. Coach Eleni and Patrizio are both really patient, great coaches--especially for younger kids. They also have fun activities like "tennis pizza nights" and the camps are instructive and fun. Facility is nice, most of the staff is nice and fun to work with. The flagship program JSI is problematic: definitely not all kids are getting the same amount of attention and court time. There is a small subgroup which are the coaches' favorite, they always get more attention and court time. The kids can tell they are being treated differently. read more
